Good morning! We've had beautiful weather since Saturday. Sunshine, no wind!
Saturday we did get to go on our field trip to learn about creation and dinosaurs. The two older girls' Sunday School class (about 30 kids), drove to Grand Junction and listened to a speaker for about 1 1/2 hours give a talk on dinosaurs and the flood and Noah and fossils, and gave lots of scientific evidence for creation. It was really good! Then we went to the dinosaur museum in Fruita, Colorado. It was set up as a sort of children's museum with a dinosaur twist. We brought all four children and enjoyed it very much. I'm just sorry that I forgot my camera!
Sunday we went to church followed by lunch at Denny's and a beautiful afternoon at the park. All of us really enjoyed the sun, dry ground, a little creek that runs through, and the playground equipment. I even got on the swing with my baby boy for a short time. I came home with a little sunburn too.
On the way home we stopped at Sonic for some refreshing drinks. The girls had a cherry limeade to share, and I shared my lemon berry slush with the two little ones.
Yesterday was another beautiful day. I resumed my morning walks after a week of being on crew - which meant that dh or I had to get up and shovel snow every morning, so I couldn't do my walks. It is so beautiful on the mountain with sun and snow, the woodpeckers tapping out nature music, and the silence only broken otherwise by an occasional bird song.
Today the Martins are moving back to Pennsylvania. They are the only other family on the base that has young children like us. We will have to trust the Lord in this matter of friends for our children to play with and grow up with.
Hi Carol-loved all the pictures of your beautiful children! Enjoyed reading this post, too. I'm sorry about your friends who are leaving, though. Holly
What GREAT field trips ! I am glad you all had such a good time. Boy are your dc growing up !
Praying for a family that would be the perfect family for you all to have sweet fellowship with.
Please pray for all the details to fall together for me to go away this week. I don't normally go on trips without my family. I am feeling a bit nervous. Praying that what I have lined up will be good enough.
Sending you blessings and ((hugs)) my SSiC
In Him<><

You are right about us just moving here, but that is only part of the story. Chris has just gotten out of the AF and while we had money in the bank, he did not have a job. So he was job shopping. Looks like we are going to Barrow next month. That is at the top of Alaska. You know all of this is a long story, I'll have to really try and explain sometime. Jenn
I can't believe all the snow you have had. Amazing!! We have been getting snow flurries here and they are predicting more snow flurries this weekend. We are to warm here for it to stick though. It has been up to the 70's here and we have had some sunshine but it has been a long winter here as well.
It was good you guys could get out. Sounds like a fun trip and a great escape to get away from the snow. Your little man is getting big. Wow!!
I just hate it when I forget my camera. Such a disappointment!!
Carol, thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Your girls are getting so big and so beautiful; our oldest will be 13 in a couple of weeks. I'm trying to figure out where the time has gone.
I laughed out loud at your joke about how many books we've read since the "Little House debut." We get tickled with each other when we'll say, "Do you remember in that book we read x years ago when...?" Even recently, the oldest is reading Benjamin Banneker's biography a second time--this time with a thicker, more in depth book. She said, remembering a book from five years ago, "Hadn't I read about him before?" Finally, my son and I were thumbing through a Sonlight catalog the other day as if we had a stack of baseball cards--need it, need it, got it, got it, need it...
Fun times we've had with CM, huh? What wonderful memories we'll have in the years to come. What are using next year with your family? Maybe if I visit long enough I'll see it posted here somewhere.
We were planning to buy this house, but we were renting it until Chris got and job. So we will lose a deposit, but this is too good to pass up. Sounds like if we work a few years in the bush we could get a job back here in a few years. We are pretty excited about going to Barrow though. It will be an adventure for sure. I went in to the National Weather Service office in Anchorage with Chris today. Sounds like we will be flying out sometime around May 12-14. It is just now sinking in how much I have to do. It is nice to have my Mom here. She is such a help.
Thank you for the comment!! I'm really sorry that it took me so long to reply!!!! And I would probably hitch my horse up to my bed if my parents would let me, but I don't think that is going to happen any time soon. lol =)
It has been really really nice here too. After the long winter its nice to finally go out and play without being so cold.
That sounds like a very nice day, and I am glad you had a good day!! I have to say that I am a little jealous!!! My family and I went to Colorado a couple of years ago, and we ate at a lot of Sonics. They were so so so good. They don't have any near us. =(
We do not have a Sonic. I love Frito Pie. It looks like you had a lovely day. I am sorry the last family with kiddos moved. I pray more will come to you soon. But so glad the Mission Field is receiving them in other areas. The Lord knows what and who you have need of, He will do it.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
HELLO! Long time no comment! (Grin) So sorry to have missed all of your excitement! I so enjoy reading your blog. I haven't been able to catch up in a very long time...well, only a month...but, in these times, that SEEMS to be a VERY long time! LOL I will be praying for you. I believe...these days will be more intense. We all need encouragement and DAILY washing in the Word, just to make it. Thank you for posting, both words and pictures. May Yahweh bless you..and give you endurance.
Grace and Peace,
Ruth
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (10, 8 and 3) and a toddler son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
