All of these pictures were taken within a 5 mile radius of our house. Cameras just don't do it justice. Today I saw a little more red, but the leaves are starting to fall, so I know it won't last much longer. The last one is from the bottom of our driveway looking into the canal, and the next to last one is of the trees in front of our house from below. The first 8 I took at Beaver Lake, which is a favorite nature walk place the kids and I like to go to. The ninth one is along the road. The tenth and eleventh are from Sonrise Mountain Ranch, which is a Christian retreat center two miles from our house. It is where we played last week in the pictures of the playground on the mountain.
Dwelling in the Land and Feeding on His Faithfulness,
Oh wow does this make me homesick ( we are from the high sierras in California) These are beautiful photos. What a joy to wake up to this each and every day.
Ohhhh I just loved getting to see Colorado in the Fall. It has been too long sense I have seen it. ((sniff sniff)) Did you see your award ? I gave it special to YOU. ((HUGS))
Oh, Carol, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have been so homesick for 4 seasons, but your pictures help!! You surely live in one of the most beautiful spots on earth. The beauty that surrounds you must overwhelm at times. It would me.
I love the photo through the cattails - that should be printed and framed, my friend! And I got a chuckle out of the mailboxes plopped down seemingly in the middle of nowhere. *grin*
Thank you for sharing these, my friend - I will be back to stare longingly at them again, lol!
Oh, the pictures did justice real nice, because I can imagine the rest! Just like putting the pics of Yosemite up last week.....I know it's so much MORE than we can see in the pictures. Hmmm...there is a lesson here, I think. Just like those pictures don't do the "real thing" justice, the world--as beautiful as it is---just doesn't do the New Earth that's coming justice! Ya gotta BE there to experience it!
These are absolutely phenomenal!!! The yellow trees are my favorite colored trees!! I certainly miss those the most! (Very few changing trees in the desert!! )
These pics are very serene and peaceful!!! I just love it!!
What beautiful pictures. I'm sorry I missed this last week - but at least I found it tonight! What a beautiful place you live at. You must have a very good camera to have captured it like you did. Gorgeous!

One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (12, 10 and 5) and a three year old son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek and serve God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
