Weekly Wrapup

From the Heart:

Life was a lot smoother sailing this week.  I'm actually enjoying not having to go into work on Tuesdays, although I'm still curious as to how the Lord is going to work this out.  There's a lot less stress when I don't have to go into work.

Mountain Princess's physical therapy is going well.  The therapist says she is making good progress.  It does mean two trips a week into town, however.  At the therapist's recommendation, we got both of the bigger girls Superfeet Insoles to help with their overall skeletal alignment.

On the Homefront:

Tim finished the chicken coop this week.  Now he is thinking about putting wheels on it to help us to be able to move it around the yard.  It is beastly heavy.  I'll get a pic up soon.

The camper we got is proving to be a lemon.  It leaks, and it broke down on Tim once this week...  Maybe it ran out of gas.  He's not sure.  Ah well, it gives him something to do.

We bought new beds for the older girls - just what we were wanting - for $75 each from Wal Mart!  They have drawers for storage and a book shelf on the headboard.  I haven't taken any pics yet, and dd's bed that we have put together isn't made right now.

Bubbies helped me make some gluten-free corn dogs this week.  Yummy!  They turned out great!

In the School Room:

Snow Crystal finished her Singapore Math book yesterday!  Yea!  Now we are just doing review work until we start school again.

On the Mission Field:

The One DTS had a great third week.

In the Literary Scene:

I'm reading a lot from Torah Club 4.  As usual, I'm enjoying it immensely.  I am prereading By the Great Horn Spoon from Core 4.  It is a cute story.  I am reading Made from Scratch by Jenna Wohlgenrich.  It is about a girl who decided to homestead a little rented place and live off the earth - fulfilling her dreams along with a full-time day job.  I live to read her blog Cold Antler Farm as well.

Feeding on His Faithfulness,

Carol

Thank you! Thank you for the recipe! I really appreciate it. My kids and dh miss corn dogs since we have gone gluten free. I think I will try them for Father's Day!

I love the pictures of your kids! Is everyone in your family allergic to gluten? or just one of you? My cousin is allergic to gluten and it took the doctors years to figure out what was wrong with her. Here is the link to my weekly wrapup:

Hi Carol,

Glad you had a good week and that the PT is going well. LOL, it sounds like your hubby builds things like mine - we have a couple of tires on our chicken coop too - and I don't think a hurricane could move that thing! The corn dogs look great - I've never tried to deep fry anything before. Do you have one of those fry baby's or did you just use a pan of hot oil?

Have a good week - hmmm, job stresses you out? What to do, what to do.

Like you, when my husband was out of work, I couldn't help but think about how we would make it. Money impacts so many of your choices, so it's only natural to think about what those choices are once money is not what it was. God will provide. In the meantime, you're also right about the stress reduction. I actually had to adjust to hubby getting up and leaving us in the mornings--who'd run all my errands? Who'd do things with the kids when I got too busy? I am still making the adjustment, but it's one that I'm happy to make. I'll keep you lifted up that you see the other side of this trial quickly.

In the meantime, here's my weekly wrap-up post:

Yay for finishing school! We still have several weeks left. We are trying to work hard to finish soon.

I've finally blogged a bit but probably won't be on the computer much more this week. I have so much to write but I'm very limited in computer time right now.

God Bless,
~Mrs.Cuddles

I am so glad you are enjoying peace and rest in your time off from work. Keep focusing on God and not the bills! He will prove Himself.
How fun to get new beds! We just repainted our younger girls room and got WalMart comforters. They are ecstatic. I hope to get pics up soon.
Have a terrific week, and enjoy your summer.

Gluten-free corndogs? How cool! Where there's a will, there's a way. :-) What a bargain on the beds!! I may have to check Wal-Mart since my youngest really does need a new bed too.

Cannot wait to see your pics of the chicken coop. I need to take some pics of the garden and download some from one of our hikes.

One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord. This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (12, 10 and 5) and a three year old son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek and serve God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
