1) How old is your Bible? My Bible is 23 1/2 years old. I picked it out for myself for my 16th birthday. I was very crazy for Jesus even back then!
2) Why did you choose this Bible? I got it for it's concordance and index. I liked the version (NKJV) too. I've put many miles on it since then, but have never regretted my choice.
3) Do you hightlight/mark passages? Yes. I like to date things too - then I can look in my journal to see why I highlighted things later if I forget.
4) If so what is your system? No system other than what I wrote above.
5) Do you have notebooks to record things? Yes.
6) If so how many and what do you record? I have about two going at any one time. I keep a journal with my prayers and thoughts, notes from lectures and church, etc. I also have a prayer journal for prayer lists, but I don't use it as much as I'd like to.
7) Where is your favourite spot toread your Bible? On my rocking chair next to my wood stove in the dining room. It is the most comfy-cosy place in the house.
8) Are there any special thoughts about your Bible you want to share? My Bible is falling apart in many pieces. The cover is off, the part of the concordance has come off with it. My baby boy tore out a few pieces of the concordance and shredded them. Soon I will have to retire the old thing, as much as I hate to!
Please feel free to join Blogger Friend School in posting about your Bible, it's really interesting to see other people's Bibles and learning about how they study and the tools they use for that.

Favorite homeschool support area: homeschoolblogger friends of course!
Homeschool site full of information that I use regularly: I can't say that I do this one much anymore. I think now I rely more on hardcopy books that I have at home and blogger friends, to be honest.
Site that I buy USED curriculum from: Sonlight users have a forum where they can buy and sell used curriculum from, but you have to be a member and pay to use the selling portion. I used it before it became cost prohibitive. It was at www.sonlight-forums.com. I don't usually find what I am looking for at other used boards, and end up spending a lot of time there fruitlessly.
A blog I read because it inspires me to be a better homeschooling mom: All of my homeschoolblogger friends would fit into this category. You can find their links under my friends list. Also Gloria at www.homesteadblogger.com/ourfamilyjourney and any of my blogger friends on my links column.
I don't let my kids do much on the internet, but there is one site that I have let them use, and that is www.starfall.com, which is a good reading site for new and learning readers.
A. Create a special place to blog that is realistic... and B. Share a photo of it - using your creative juices.
Here's the real place I like to blog. I didn't clean it up - this is the real me, really blogging. My dd actually just now took the photo for this post! I think what could make it more special is to have the room cleaner, a fire in the woodstove (good idea Tamara, lol!), and a cup of decaf Earl Grey Tea next to me. Also with some worship music playing (instead of Dora on the video!).
Here is what I wrote last week: My dream place to blog is in a quiet living room, with the children all asleep or out with their daddy having some daddy time, snuggled on the couch with a warm, fuzzy blanket and a nice spot of tea (decaf Earl Grey with honey and milk). (not too far off, eh? I just need to put the kids down to bed - Baby J is sleeping, does that count? - pull out my fuzzy bear blanket and get my tea!)
C. Part two of our assignment is to share a verse that is on our hearts this week.
Ecclesiastes 1:2 "Meaningless," says the Preacher; "Meaninglessness, all is meaninglessness."
Wierd verse, don't you think? And yet, Ecclesiastes 1 and 2 has a lot of meaning to me this week. As a full-time Christ-follower, I had been finding discontentment in my heart. I wanted to know from the Lord why I am here. Couldn't I be a full-time mommy somewhere else, where we could have our own home and possibly a small hobby farm or our own garden and animals? I've really been struggling with this. The Lord gave me this verse and it really spoke to me... (I'm not saying this about anyone who isn't living the life God has called me to, so please don't think I am)... that for me to stop serving Him full-time in this place would be going from building His kingdom to building my own. In perhaps 50 years or so, I will die. What will I have left that meant any good thing? Would it mean anything that my children have a farm to work, or a house to sell and split the proceeds? Soon the money would be gone, other little kingdoms built upon, but what would the profit be? I believe God is having me here to help build His kingdom in my home, on this YWAM base, and wherever He sends me from here. This is meaning. This is real profit. If we go back to building a place for ourselves in the world, it will take so much of our time. One of us will have to work to build someone else's kingdom (whoever we work for), and any time working for God would have to be on our very little free time. Following Jesus costs everything, and yet, all else in "meaningless".
A. I've been blogging for about 3 years now. I do it because I love to write and journal, and I've met a lot of new friends through this venue. I was taking an online class of creative writing and somehow learned through that about blogging. Once I started I got hooked!
B. My dream place to blog is in a quiet living room, with the children all asleep or out with their daddy having some daddy time, snuggled on the couch with a warm, fuzzy blanket and a nice spot of tea (decaf Earl Grey with honey and milk).
C. 1. I usually blog early in the morning (between 6:30 and 8:30) or in the evening after the kids are in bed (after 8).
2. My favorite drink is the tea I mentioned above, or if I want something cold, a mocha cooler (decaf).
3. I don't know if I have a favorite book (other than the Bible). I love historical fiction, stuff by L.M. Montgomery, missionary biographies, and kids books.
4. My favorite dessert? Hmm...I'd have to say ice cream, preferably homemade.
5. A scripture that has been inspirational in my growth in Christ would have to be Philippians 2:13 "for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." I love that God is working where I fall short, and He helps me to do those things that please Him. The whole book of Philippians is pretty powerful.
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (10, 8 and 3) and a toddler son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
