Frugal Finds

Posted in Frugal Living

This week I have found some very neat “Frugal Finds”.    I have decided to “Show N Tell” these lovely, fun finds of mine. Kelli over at “There Is No Place Like Home is hosting Show and Tell Friday. Mary is also hosting on her blog “Raising 4 Godly Men”, Hop on over to their sites and join in the fun!

When my sister was visiting I discovered the neatest new hair accessory (Well, new to me ) This summers prettiest, simplest, most feminine, frugal hair accessory a “Headband Scarf”; fits like a headband, holds like a headband but has the style and personality of a scarf!!! I love them!

My sister sent me a few this week, I have greatly enjoyed wearing them out to run errands. Its an easy and quick way to look “put together” when im out running my errands.  My hair is no longer falling in my face and the best part is that I have gotten rid of the bun my hair is usually in. I still wear it in a bun at home its just easier, my hair is wet and in a bun now or I would model these for you.

Here are the 3 my sister bought they were $3.99 each, I bought the brown one for $5.99 at the “Dress Barn” my new favorite store. Im sure these could be made for a couple dollars of you sew.  you can also find them on Ebay with free shipping!!!

My next frugal find was at The Gap, I usually buy my boys shirts at Target and Wal-Mart because I can find the matching sizes and they are only $3.99 and $4.99 a piece. Now that is a great price and they are actually pretty well made. Very Affordable!!!  They are Not the Gap but pretty good nonetheless. Lets face it you really do get what you pay for in most instances. Well, at the Gap this week we found their ever so soft and wonderful T-shirts on sale for $5.99 each! We had a gift card from Troys mother and we hit the jackpot with the shirts

The T-shirts were mostly in Micah’s size since we have plenty of clothes in all the smaller sizes.

Lastly I had to get some birthday gifts and other odds and ends and I stopped at my Favorite Frugal gift shop first, “Tuesday Morning” check HERE to see if you have one in your area and if you do be careful, everything is reduced to some wonderfully low prices but you can still spend too much too fast! I restrained myself and only bought within my budget. I bought the birthday gift, the wrapping paper, 3 new books for the boys, a gift for my sister, a new baking mitt for me and a few other small items and it all came to about $25!!! The birthday gift alone retailed for $38! I love a good deal and at Tuesday morning it is impossible not to find one!

Hope you enjoyed your peek into this weeks “Frugal Finds”. For more Frugal finds, tips and suggestions head over to Crystal's Blog!

Have a great weekend!

Oh my goodness! I LOVE Tuesday Morning!! My sister LOVES Dress Barn and was there this week buying some dresses that were on sale!

I love your scarves and wear them quite often to church, but had never thot about using them on my head! I just hadn't thot of that! Now that you mentioned it, I do remember seeing so many scenes in the movies with the women wearing their gorgeous scarves on their heads! I guess I'm a slow learner!

I'm so happy right along with you for all your bargain finds!

What great finds. Especially like the scarf idea. Would get me away from the pony tail that I always seem to wear.

I have seen those scarf headbands before and almost bought one. I ended up putting it back on the shelf and I regret doing that. They are very, very pretty. Where did your sister get the ones that she sent you?

Thank you for sharing!

It's such a joy to find great deals! My friend just took me to a Tuesday Morning a few days ago -- I love it! Those headband/scarves sure look nice. Somehow headbands don't stay on my head -- I'll have to try one of those and see it it works for me.

I love being so much older than most of you so I can relive my childhood in your clothing and accessories. I think I have a picture somewhere of my sister wearing scarf headbands. Since she is eight years older than me I never did. But thanks to your post I can see her in it! and giggle....

There really is nothing new under the sun.

Those headbands are so attractive! I love the colors and patterns. I think I might try one.
I'm always one for thrifty finds, alas we don't have Tuesday Mornings in our part of the country yet. We do have Big Lots which has some good deals on scrapbooking stuff and household things from time to time.
Have a great day and Blessings to you!

No the headband really isnt very hot at all, and the factthat is is tightly ffitted to my head keeps my hair in place and keeps me from getting too hot!

It is a hardplastic headband wraped in satin then wrapped and glued with the scarf . They are very weel made and I actually saw a few at wal mart today! :-)

My sister boguth hers at a place called "Kadoes"??? We dont have then here in LA thus the reason for her buying them and mailing them to me :-) I have best sis in the world! :-)

I came here from Training Hearts -- but I read about TUESDAY MORNINGS!! I love that store. Ü There is one in Des Moines... so if I need a gift, and am headed that way... I try to Hit TM first. ;) I can usually find something there.

I got my very favorite ironing board there too. BIG STURDY and has an IRON HOLDER thingy on it.

LOVE that store.

I can't wait to read about how you use MFW -- we will be starting CTG in September.

May God Bless You!
