Less Of Me~ More Of Him - "Monday Meanderings"

Aug. 13, 2007

"Monday Meanderings"

What is “Monday Meanderings”?

“Monday Meanderings” is something I have been very much in need of. I have to get back into my routines and start planning like I used to. In much the same way that Menu Plan Monday pushed me to plan my weekly Menus and hold me accountable to prepare and serve those meals, "Monday Meanderings" will be my weeks overview of all that needs to be accomplished and will hopefully keep me accountable to complete the tasks I list. I will plan out my week on Sundays (like I am supposed to be doing) and on Monday I will post it not only to hold myself accountable but also to share with you all as well! I know what your thinking, “Not another Meme!!!” Like I said this is more so for me but im sure there are others who might need to refocus and reevaluate their time and this is a perfect way to get back to our priorities at “Home”. As with all of these Memes im sure we can learn a great deal from each other and pick up or share a tip here and there. If nothing else we can encourage each other to stay on plan and keep our priorities straight!

With that said here is how I am thinking “Monday Meanderings” will work. You do not have to use my 5 but any 5 things that will better prepare you for (and prioritize) the week ahead! I don’t know about you but im tired of Friday sneaking up on me and the most important things on my list have not been accomplished!

“Monday Meanderings” will also be a great help for those of you that have purchased my “Orderly Mom Notebook” some of you have asked for help through my blog in keeping up with your Notebooks and this should do the trick!

  1. Bible Study/ Devotions ~ (For the week) If you don’t plan it, you wont do it! I will share what I will be studying along with my Memory Scripture of the week!
  2. "Must Do"~ Not the 'To do" list but the "Must do" as in it must be done this week! Whether it be some sewing or repairing, your Home Blessing maybe?
  3. Zone~ I break my home down into Zones for detailed cleaning much like Fly Lady! (I am going to add my zones to the side bar as soon as I get a chance to do so. ) My zones don’t have to be your zones I suggest each person figure out their own zones and work them accordingly. If you need some help you can check mine out.
  4. Train Them Up~ This will focus on anything pertaining to the children. You could share the topic of study in your homeschool, the character training you wish to tackle, new habits you wish to form etc… You know the important stuff you have been putting off!
  5. Menu Planning~ I will share the weeks Menu here and or a favorite family recipe! (This can coincide with Menu Plan Monday)

If you would like to participate simply add your link on Mister Linky directing folks to your “Monday Meanderings” post! Link back on your post so that others can join us and or read through everyone’s “Monday Meanderings”. This is for ALL Moms you do not have to be a Homeschooling Mom to participate!

If you have any suggestions / helpful advice and or have a question please feel free to share it with me!

Below are the buttons for Monday Meanderings, feel free to choose the one of your choice!

Comments: With the Monday Meanderings participants growing it is almost impossible to get around to visit everyone and comment on their blogs, I will however do my best to make my rounds but I know I cannot comment on all 30 or so blogs that participate each week. My computer time is pretty much taken up by posting on my blog.  I would suggest picking 10 or so blogs/posts to "READ" and comment on and the next week pick 10 or so different blogs to visit. I do believe we can learn a great deal from each other by sharing and learning knew ways of running our homes and families. With that said I do not want anyone to think I am ignoring them for that is far from the truth, I wish I could visit each and everyone of you each Monday but with a family and home as my first priorities there just isn’t enough time in the day.  I am so glad to see so many of us using our blogs as a tool to prepare our homes and families for the coming week! Happy Monday to you!!!.

did you buy a bread machine? I bought mine kicking and screaming being the purest that I am. I did the same over our Microwave. Truth is I do use them both now. The bread machine is great for baking bread without heating up the house in the summer and the oven in perfect for heating up the house in the winter. I do love my hands in the dough I love kneading and working of the dough. I really love teaching my granddaughters the how to of baking and I can't do that with the machine. So I use both. It is a great convinence tool. With little ones to teach sometimes easy is necessary. Like fresh bread and a crock pot dinner complete at the end of a day filled with Doctor appts and Dentist check ups makes them worth the purchase.

Aug. 13, 2007 - GUESS WHAT?!?!

Hey Tiany!

You'll never guess what happened last Tuesday! I had my baby!!!!

I went into labor EARLY...4 whole weeks early... and gave birth to a healthy, vibrant, teeny tiny little girl. That gives me 5 little girls!!! And of course, 2 wonderful boys!!!

I have posted my birth story at

http://runningtothecross.blogspot.com/

but I plan to copy and paste it to my HSB blog as well.

I just wanted to let you know the good knews AND thanks for your prayers!!!

ALSO...I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Monday Meanderings idea! That will really get me going! I can already tell that I have more energy than I did when I was pregnant. I am just trying to stay still for a little longer so that I can recover and be 100%.

Have a great day!!!
Blessings!

I have been doing this too...just trying to write everything down I want done. Most times not all of it gets done, but more often than not, a lot more gets done than if I hadn't written it. With a new baby in the house, I am trying to go easy on myself. I just got on Above Rubies website and printed off some of her devotions to use as my personal Bible study time. I find her messages refreshing as I go through this rocky and wonderful journey called Motherhood!

You sure had a great turn out for Open House. Wow!!
