Sunday afternoon we had sweet friends from church unexpectedly call and ask if they could stop by and visit for a while, I was not prepared as we usually go to Troy’s parents so I don’t cook on Sundays. The home was pretty neat n clean, and it took me about 20 minutes to make the home “Guest ready”. I ran off to the grocery store picked up ingredients for dinner, a dip, tea and dessert. I cooked and prepped for about an hour before they arrived and all was well. We had a lovely time with our friend and their two daughters but I really will have to work on this in the future. I should always be ready for guests, even without much notice.
In other news, Troy will go back to teaching at UNO (University Of New Orleans) this week and he is teaching two days a week in a near by town so he will no longer be home with us during the day. He is going to be one busy bee this semester as the University has given him a new class to teach “Percussion”. We will miss him but we know it is a blessing to have more work, the more work he gets the more we can give and that is always a good thing. I have been spoiled with Troy being home this summer, he still wont work even 40 hours a week so I can’t complain.
Last week went well, we had fun with our lessons, Troy took the boys to a local “Bounce House” place a couple days giving me extra cleaning time but we still need some work on some training this week. I am looking forward to cooler weather so we can head outdoors more often too!
- Bible Study/ Devotions ~ This week I will be reading Chapter 3 (I'm actually a bit ahead but I will reread Ch. 3) of Nancy Campbell's Bible Study "The Power of Motherhood". My very Dear friend “Tina” from “A Woman's Journey Home” is hosting this study on her “Power Of Motherhood Study” blog! I have wanted to dedicate a post to the study but have yet to do so. Maybe this week! It really is an amazing Bible Study for all mothers to read and study. It has been an eye opener, an encouragement and such a wonderful source of inspiration!!
- "Must Do"~ This week I “Must”
- Home Blessing (You can view my HB on the left sidebar)
- Ship out Packages that are ready
- Make and send Orderly Mom notebooks that have been ordered
- Go to the gym or exercise 3 x’s this week (this has been going well)
- Go over RGT notebook
- Get a plan in place for unexpected guests.
- Zone~ I am in zone 4, the bedroom! This room sure needs the detailed cleaning, Troy can not stand to have anything messy or out of “Order” so I try very hard to keep our room neat at all times but I must admit it needs some work right now! Along with the regular basic cleaning I will do more detailed cleaning. You can view all of my household “Zones” in the left sidebar.
- Train Them Up~ We will be starting MFW 1st grade with Micah though I will have to tweak it a bit since he pretty much reads well on his own now. We will skip over some parts and I will push ahead on some, still trying to figure it out. We will continue with LOTW with the two younger ones. Training~ The boys behave pretty well up until they are around other children that do not behave so well, they follow and start acting up themselves. We will have to work on that this week I will be revisiting my “Raising Godly Tomatoes” Notebook for some discipline we have fallen a bit lax on. I need to work on blessing my children verbally more often and speaking words of life, blessing, encouragement and faith!
