Monday Meanderings

"Monday Meanderings” is the perfect way to use your blog to keep you accountable to the most important part of your life, your “Home Life”!  Simply pick 5 things each week that will better prepare you to tackle the week ahead!

If you would like to participate in  "Monday Meanderings”, and or to choose the graphic of your choice please go HERE!

I did not get much accomplished last week with Ashton being sick so my week is going to look much like last week with the exception of our Menu.

(When I say I did not get much accomplished , please know that I only refer to my "Weekly meanderings To do list" I would never look at tending to a sick child as a "loss" tending to my children is the first priority next to tending to my Troy! I wanted to add that just in case it sounds as though I looked at the week as a loss due to lots of sitting around cuddling. )

1. Bible Study/ Devotions ~ This week I will be rereading reading Chapter 6 of Nancy Campbell's Bible Study  "The Power of Motherhood .

I have also been reading and studying in Proverbs, I will study Proverbs 21-25

2. "Must Do"~ This week I “Must”

  • Home Blessing (You can view my HB on the left sidebar)
  • Ship out Packages that are ready
  • Make and send Orderly Mom Notebooks that have been ordered
  • (Still haven’t done this) Planning for the Holidays (just jot basic plans on paper and get pages organized into my Orderly Mom Notebook) Yep, I know it sounds soon but I have to plan early with 4 little ones under foot. Lots to plan this year… Christmas Homeschool Open House on my blog, Homeschool group Christmas party at our home, make plan for gifts we will be making, food to be made and this years Family Gatherings at our home for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
  • Make more food for the Hummers

3. Zone~ I will get to that second closet I could not do last week.

4. Train Them Up~ We will continue with our daily Bible lesson, character training and daily chores along with 1st time obedience training.  This week I want to us focus on “serving” others. We will do a few exercises where a brother will serve the other or let the others go “first”, maybe even give another a favorite treat or the bigger half or a treat. J

Mark 10:43-45 says "but whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many".

We will do the following activity:

 Serve God Every Day”

5. Menu Planning~ Once again both new recipes from last week were a success and added to my meal roster!

My Glazed Meatloaf was super moist and delicious, I used less sugar then it called for and added a few spices and veggies to the mix. Next days sandwiches were the best!

The Layered Pumpkin Loaf was a hit too! The perfect treat to welcome in the Autumn season with a nice hot cup of Tea. J

Monday: Italian chicken soup

Tuesday: Grilled lemon pepper chicken tenders, garden salad and baked sweet potato’s (from last weeks menu, never made it)

Wednesday: Leftovers/ Picnic Dinner (Just me n the boys)

Thursday:   Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Friday:   Chicken Enchiladas

Saturday: Leftovers / Picnic Dinner (Just me n the boys)

Sunday: Dinner at Troy’s parents

Dessert:  Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Hi!
Your menu sounds delicious. Hope everyone will be well at your house this week.
Just an FYI- I clicked on the Layered Pumpkin Bread link (I wanna make it!) and it took me to Kraft Chicken Parmesan Bundles instead (which also looked good, so I bookmarked it. lol)

I love your fall reading post and the pics of Ashton. I hope you have a better week.

Here's my link to my Monday Meanderings. I can't see your Mr. Linky. My internet is giving me fits loading pages. Could you link it for me if I can't do it after this comment is posted?

Thanks,
Carol

Of course taking care of my littles comes long before a "To Do" list , when I said I didn't get anything accomplished I was only speaking of the "To Do" list not in general!!!

I couldn't agree with you more! ;-)

Hugs~

Tiany, that bread looks divinely inspired! Tell me it is low calorie too! (lol) Oh, well. Everything in moderation. I am looking forward to your holiday open house. I believe in getting a head start on Christmas too. We have to. Or else it slips away from us.

I'm glad that your son is feeling better. My son is named Ashton, also. In ten years, we have only met one other boy named Ashton. He was beginning to feel that he was the only one!
I loved your idea about serving others. I'm going to try that on my children!

the pumkin loaf looks similar to the pumkin roll I make .... thinking I'll just make pumpkin bread from now on and get one of those food injectors, and pump the icinf/filling in after it's cooled .... so much easier and less messy! thanks for the idea!

Your plans and menu look great. I am so glad your little guy is better. I am trying to keep my nose above water right now. But it will all come together. Mr. B is leaving unexpectedly and the family is going through an adjustment. He was part of the family but life won't allow it. ((sniff)) I pray blessings on your week my SSiC. Please pray for me NOT to worry about all the details. Need a spiritual pick up I guess.

Blessings and ((Hugs)) my SSiC

Sep. 24, 2007 - Hi Tiany!!!

Just wanted to let you know that I posted my MPM and Monday Meanderings separately, so I entered twice!!!

I also wanted to let you know that when I went to save the image for Monday Meanderings it gave me a message like Thanks and Blessings for visiting and it would not let me copy it, SO being the creative and stubborn person I am, I made my own little Monday Meanderings picture thingy...if you like it or anyone else does, you may use it !!!

Blessings!

Sep. 27, 2007 - Still can't get code...

Hi Tiany,

Since you left me a comment saying that you would fix the code for the Monday Meandering graphics, I thought I would pop over here to see if it is fixed...

Unfortunately, I am still having the same troubles. I saw where you put the codes in the right hand sidebar and all it says is, " <a " So maybe the copy protection you have isn't allowing you to give your codes away. Maybe you could put your graphics in a photobucket account that we could access.

Anyway, thanks for trying!
Blessings dear friend!
Heather
