Monday Meanderings

PLEASE READ! Before you skip through my post to get to mister Linky, please read or at least come back up to read after linking!

Comments: With the Monday Meanderings participants growing each week it is almost impossible to get around to visit everyone and comment on their blogs, I will however do my best to make my rounds but I know I cannot comment on all 30 or so blogs that participate each week.  If you are having the same issues,  I would suggest picking 10 or so blogs/posts to "READ" and comment on and the next week pick 10 or so different blogs to visit. I do believe we can learn a great deal from each other by sharing and learning knew ways of running our homes and families. With that said I do not want anyone to think I am ignoring them for that is far from the truth, I wish I could visit each and everyone of you each Monday but with a family and home as my first priorities there just isn’t enough time in the day.  I am so glad to see so many of us using our blogs as a tool to prepare our homes and families for the coming week! Happy Monday to you!!!.

If you would like to participate in  "Monday Meanderings”, and or to choose the graphic of your choice please go HERE! You can also get the code by highlighting the code box for the button on the right side bar, save the code then add it to your blog template or post!

"Monday Meanderings” is the perfect way to use your blog to keep you accountable to the most important part of your life, your “Home Life”!  Simply pick 5 things each week that will better prepare you to tackle the week ahead!

1. Bible Study/ Devotions ~ This week I will be rereading reading Chapter 7 of Nancy Campbell's Bible Study  "The Power of Motherhood .

I also receive two Devos that I read daily via email that are always such a blessing to read!

http://www.adevotion.org/

http://www.heartlight.org/cgi-shl/my_utmost/utm.cgi

2. "Must Do"~ (Not the To Do list but the “Must Do” list!)

This week I “Must”

  • Home Blessing (You can view my HB on the left sidebar)
  • Ship out Packages that are ready
  • Make and send Orderly Mom notebooks that have been ordered
  • Make dental apts
  •  (Still doing this) Planning for the Holidays (just jot basic plans on paper and get pages organized into my Orderly Mom Notebook) Yep, I know it sounds soon but I have to plan early with 4 little ones under foot. Lots to plan this year… Christmas Homeschool Open House on my blog, Homeschool group Christmas party at our home, make plan for gifts we will be making, food to be made and this years Family Gatherings at our home for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

A few of you have asked about my Holiday notebook or pages, I will be doing a separate post for Holiday planning soon! J

3. Zone~ Bring down all my Autumn decorations and clean them up along with the places in which they will go.

I will also try to tackle a few of the needed things on this list for “Fall”

Prepare Your House for Fall”

4. Train Them Up~ We will continue with our daily Bible lesson, character training and daily chores along with 1st time obedience training.  We need to start doing “Home church” practice at home for the smallest ones again too. I go by myself with the 4 boys and it can be a chore to keep them all content and sitting quietly still for an hour.

5. Menu Planning~

Oven Baked Sweet Potato Chips

Instead of Baked Sweet Potatoes my mother found THIS recipe in our Martha Stewart Living Mag. For baked Sweet Potato chips! They were very yummy, another keeper!

I did not make the Apple Pie last week though I will definitely be making it this week, for sure!

We had our “Fall” party last week, so we made our traditional “Welcome Fall” cupcakes.  You can see last year’s cupcakes HERE.

Spice cupcakes with Vanilla, cinnamon, cream cheese frosting!

I will start testing for holiday recipes this week too; my first test will be a Spinach casserole!

Monday:  French Onion Soup & Caesar Salad

Tuesday: Baked chicken and Spinach, Mushroom, and Artichoke Casserole

Wednesday: Leftovers/ Picnic Dinner (Just me n the boys)

Thursday:   Slow Cooker Beef Stew (I did not make this last week)

Friday:    Super Nachos ~ The BEST nachos, I boys love them!

Saturday: Leftovers / Picnic Dinner (Just me n the boys)

Sunday: Dinner at Troy’s parents

Dessert:  Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Hi Tiany! Looks like a wonderful week planned. Hope it goes well for you! I've also been wondering how in the world you have the time to go around and comment on everyone's blogs. It's fun but very time consuming. Your only 10 per Monday is a great idea! Surely, no one will think you are ignoring them. Just be sure to visit me, ok? LOL! J/K
Happy Week!

Morning Tiany,
I think that a wonderful ideal of 10 per week. I changed my daily blogging the last 3 weeks. Where I comment other's on Monday's & Tuesdays, trying to keep up with all of them.

Sweet Potatoes, we cut them like french fries too. They are so great.... Maybe your kids would like it that way too.

Blessings,
Debbie

Thanks for coming up with this great idea. I am really hoping that if I start formulating specific plans and goals I will be able to look back on my weeks and start seeing some real progress in my heart, my home and my family. This is my first week to participate but hopefully not the last.

Your menu looks great. Will you share your cupcake and icing recipe? You visited my blog last week and asked if my daughters friend she was holding in the picture was real...well...it is! We found him wandering the yard and brought him in to love on and then found him a pond to live in!

It's no wonder that you can't keep up with all the blogs. MM is a long post by most people too! I try to keep up with those who comment on my blog, and even so that isn't always possible. My blogging time is limited. Don't worry. I won't mark you off of my friends list if you can't visit every one of my posts!

Be encouraged my sister!

Hi Tiany! I have no idea how you will see this comment, what with 31 (!) comments on this post alone, but I had to write and tell you that even though you are on my friends list, I tried to visit your blog today from my friends list, and it told me I wasn't allowed to view your blog or profile! I felt slapped, like a naughty child, so I thought okay, I'll go to someone else's blog who has you on their blogroll, and it said the same thing! For some reason, I linked to you from some other site, and it finally let me on! UGH!!! It was frustrating not to be able to catch up with you today, but I finally was able to catch up. Whew!

I don't know what the problem was, but I will try again tomorrow to access your blog and I will let you know if I can't get on, okay??

Hopefully you have time to sit down and breathe!

Hi Tiany, it's me again. What a huge smile maker your comments were on my blog this morning! I had no idea that I was blessing anybody, really. I just post because it helps me to pour out my heart. I didn't really think that anybody other than duckygirl read my posts regularly......I'm so humbled that you were blessed by my thoughts and my poem. Posting the poem was going out on a limb unclothed, for me!!! lol!

Your layered pumpkin bread looks intriguing and fantastic! I do a pumpkin bread too, I wonder if I could add a cream cheese layer? And the menu you've got going sounds yummy!

I was able to link to your blog from my friends list sidebar today, but not from trying to link on your comment....I think it's going to work some days and other days it won't. Ah well.

Anyway, thanks for your input on my blog. See you soon!
