Monday Meanderings

If you would like to participate in  "Monday Meanderings”, and or to choose the graphic of your choice please go HERE! OR “”LEFT” click the MM button in my right side bar.

"Monday Meanderings” is the perfect way to use your blog to keep you accountable to the most important part of your life, your “Home Life”!  Simply pick 5 things each week that will better prepare you to tackle the week ahead!

1. Bible Study/ Devotions ~  "The Power of Motherhood

Daily email Devos…

http://www.adevotion.org/

http://www.heartlight.org/cgi-shl/my_utmost/utm.cgi

2. "Must Do"~ (Not the To Do list but the “Must Do” list!)

This week I “Must”

  • Home Blessing (You can view my HB on the left sidebar)
  • Get to bed by 11:00pm
  • Prepare Menu for Sunday supper with friends.
  • Get exercise in at home.
  •  (Still doing this) Planning for the Holidays (just jot basic plans on paper and get pages organized into my Orderly Mom Notebook) Yep, I know it sounds soon but I have to plan early with 4 little ones under foot. Lots to plan this year… Christmas Homeschool Open House on my blog, Homeschool group Christmas party at our home, make plan for gifts we will be making, food to be made and this years Family Gatherings at our home for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

A few of you have asked about my Holiday notebook or pages, I will be doing a separate post for Holiday planning soon! J

3. Zone~ I am back in the Kitchen this week and next.  I will try to reorganize it from top to bottom (again)

4. Train Them Up~ We will continue with our daily Bible lesson, character training and daily chores along with 1st time obedience training.  Home church went well, it really does take constant training and perseverance to make an impact with your children but oh the rewards so far outweigh the frustrations of keeping on top them.  (Especially little ones) It is so embarrassingly obvious when I have been lazy in my child rearing; the only one that really suffers for it is ME! God is so good to give us exact instructions on how our children are to be raised! PTL

5. Menu Planning~

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie came out very good; I added some spices and vanilla. I used less sugar and I cooked it way to long! LOL It was a bit mushy. Still delicious and eaten up within two days.

Monday: Super duper easy Red Beans n Rice with Sausage (Cheap too)

Tuesday: Baked chicken and Spinach, Mushroom, and Artichoke Casserole

Didn’t make this last week as my mother was home and cooked up some soup.

Wednesday: Leftovers/ Picnic Dinner (Just me n the boys)

Thursday:   Turkey, veggies, sweet potato’s and gravy

Friday: Mexican chicken soup

Saturday: Leftovers / Picnic Dinner (Just me n the boys)

Sunday: Dinner at Troy’s parents

Dessert:   Fruit or Fat Free Jello with whipped topping

That Apple Pie looks delicious! In fact, it reminds me that I was given a bag full of apples that I need to use up. I think I may make some apple pie filling and freeze for future use. And, of course make some apple pie to eat eat now too!
Have a blessed week!

Tiany,
How is your schooling going this year? How do you like the 1st grade curriculum? Where about are you in it? We are around day 30 I believe. I skipped some of the projects, but started right on day 1, I figured even though he could already read, a review isn't a bad thing. I need a globe now to do tomorrows lesson and haven't got one yet, or a map for that matter!
