The Master Cleanse Update & Sacred Heart Diet

The good , the bad and the ugly..... LOL

I am sorry it has taken me so long to do a follow up on how this cleanse worked for me. It was long and sometimes very very hard, I will not lie. I also must share that I did nibble every once in a while (a couple pieces of popcorn or a bite of whatever I was feeding Noah) ...I was never starving or extremely hungry but there were times when tiny hunger pangs would come and within minutes they would pass. The hardest part for me was just the feeling of wanting to eat something solid, something to chew on.. LOL

My reasons for doing this cleanse were 1.To shrink my tummy so I would not want to eat as much and I could get fuller faster - That worked! I am eating smaller meals and my stomach did shrink a good bit. I will do my best to keep up with that by serving myself smaller meals on smaller plates. :-)

2. I wanted to cut cravings - I did not have cravings for sweets or coffee at all while on the cleanse BUT on day ten I did start craving coffee again LOL I am not craving the sweets as I did before, so that is a great thing! I limit my coffee to one cup (AFTER) I make myself eat breakfast and this is working since I used to skip breakfast for my cup of coffee. :-)

3. I wanted to cleanse my body of toxins- this was not necessary in order to do that. Since researching I now know that once a person starts eating healthy, lots of veggies and fruit, no processed foods.. the body will automatically begin to cleanse itself. (According to Dr. Oz)

Would I do this cleanse again...probably not. Did it help me get on the right track...100% YES! I have lost 5 lbs and kept it off for a week and I am eating normally now. I did change my eating habits as I am eating organic, veggies and fruits, much less processed foods. I am getting protein from beans and fish (I am not a big meat eater). I have not worked out much but now that it is cooler out, I plan to start walking again and doing some wight training here at home.

Question...Have any of you ever heard of the Sacred Heart diet? Good or bad, it looks great but a bit weird. LOL

My sister is doing this now and I am curious to hear about it from someone that has tried it.

Be blessed!

Congrats on sticking to your cleansing plans!! It sounds like it was very successful for you! Eating a raw vegan diet for awhile will cleanse your body out also if you are relatively healthy.

On a total opposite extreme, I'm having a "cookie exchange" party tomorrow on my blog. The prize for a random winner will be:
How To Disciple Your Family 10 DVD pack from Vision Forum.

Wow thanks so much for being so honest! I did try a cleanse before doing a calorie and portion control diet. I failed! It was so hard. But after a week of portion control I am eating much much much less. I get full quickly. I am glad it worked for you. Thanks for stopping by today and encouraging me! Hugs!

Thanks for sharing your perspective! Question though-it worked well to get you on the right track, but why would you not do it again?

I haven't heard of that diet.

I just had my friend win a prize of a health nutrition and personal fitness for me. I thought I might mention that she is putting me on a diet of small portions every three hours, with a very careful watch of fat, no white flour, and no hydro..fats. That makes a lot of food which I can eat. But, I have to take small portions. Sounds too easy from my previous restrictions. I guess I will see if it works.

Nikowa,
Solidrock comment above pretty much explains why I would not do it again....first because I will not need to do it again but most importnatly thier are more natural ways to get the same results such as portion control of the proper foods! :-)

No need to shock the body when you can get the same results from a raw food diet with small meals eated often. :-)

The 10 day fast was NOT easy! :-)

I've never heard of the SH diet but I've tried this one
http://danielfast.wordpress.com/
and I need to try again. Jentzen Franklin has done this one with his church a couple of years ago and gave awesome testimonies. It's all fruits and veggies too.
I'm glad that you have learned some healthy habits. It never hurts to start. We don't eat processed meat or pork around here. It's amazing what a few changes can do.

I was just thinking of starting this. How long did you do it for? I have had health issues that I want to deal with and cleansing seems to be the best way! I don't know if I can do 10 days though. Let me know

Well, I've not heard of the Sacred Heart diet, but I've done the 7-day Soup Diet (lovingly called the "Prison Camp Diet" because that is what the soup looks like after about 5 days. LOL
I've done it twice, and it really worked, too. Each time I lost 4 pounds and never gained them back.
