Meet my sisters!

Hi again!  Arf arf!

I wanted to introduce 2 of my sisters.  Sara is my sweet 7 yr old sister.  She LOVES dogs!  And she can't wait to be an auntie!  Shauna is my doggie sister.  She is an almost 3 year old yellow lab.  She is my best friend too!  We love to play and sleep together!

We're a cute breed!

Mom forgot the camera on our camping trip.  So, no pictures of me.  That's just fine though, because I was not a happy camper!  I didn't feel like taking any walks, and my mom and siblings were gone for long periods of time hiking!  Rrrruf! I was bored and a little scared without my mom.  But I got to sleep a lot.  That was good.

When we got home, I was filthy!  Just from being out of the motorhome a few times and wandering our campsite a little bit!  I was covered with dirt!  So, mom gave me a bath right away.  It felt good and warm!  Mom made sure to give me a little hair cut around my teats too.

Well, as of today I have 10 days to go.  Mom has to take my temperature every day now, because if my temp drops, I will have the puppies within 24 hrs.!  She's just making sure.  Sometimes dogs can go into labor early.

I hate the vitamins I'm supposed to take! I keep spitting them out.  Mom is trying to hide them in hot dogs.  She crushed them up and sprinkled some on my breakfast this morning, but I knew.  Ruff, ruff!

By the way, if you don't know what a Maltese looks like with long hair, look here:

Also, here are some pictures of what my babies will look like:

I'll write again soon!  Bark to you then!

I'm going camping?

Arf arf!  Good morning!  Well, I just found out that we're going camping today!  AArggggh!  I don't want to go!  I mean I usually love to go, we have a big motorhome and a big bed just like at home and all, but I'm tired!

These little tykes inside of me have been moving around all night!  My mom thinks it's cool cuz she can even see them rolling and kicking!  Arf!  I think it feels weird!

And I'm HUGE!  I just keep getting bigger and bigger!  I can't imagine waiting 12 more days!  Huh uh huh uh huh uh huh uh (panting).

My mom and siblings are going to go hiking and stuff.  I would normally love to go, but I'm just too sleepy!  Besides, I'm eating for 6 now!  And you know how food makes you groggy?

Ho hum.  Stay tuned, I'll let you know how it went!  Arf arf!

My vet visit...

Ahhhhuhhh...sorry, had to yawn.

Well, let me fill you in on my exciting vet visit this morning.

Mom got me in the car along with my sis Sara, her friend Ryan and my big bro Matt.  I love riding in the car because I get to sit on Mom's lap wile she drives!  It's the best spot cause I get the a/c in my face, or the fresh air from outside, a great view of where we're headed and any crumbs she drops if she decides to eat while driving!  Ahhh, my life is great!

Oh yeah, where was I...ok, so we get to the vet's office and I got weighed.  I have already gained 3 pounds!  I'm usually a svelte 5 lbs, but today I was over 8!  Arf!  Then, nurse Tracy had to ask my Mom all these routine questions, and I was really nervous!  I just started shaking because I don't like getting groomed and this was at the same location!  Anyway, finally Dr. Dusty came in!  I really like Dr. Dusty!  She was even wearing my favorite color! See...

She confirmed imediately just by feeling my tummy that I was for sure going to be a mother!  Then, I had to go into the back for an x-ray.  AAAhhhhhuhhh...(yawning again.)  I didn't like to go away from my Mom, but it didn't take too long.  Dr. Dusty had my mom come back and showed her the x-ray of my tummy.  Mom was shocked!  I have 5 puppies inside of me!!! Boy, sometimes it feels like more!  One of them is already headed for my birth canal!  No wonder I've been tired!

Here's a picture of me and Mom after she found out the exciting news...

The good news is that I only have 13 or 14 more days left!  Arf arf!  I can't wait to be a mommy!  I'm taking vitamins with calcium now, and I get to eat puppy food!  Yum yum, I love puppy food!  I still need to take my walks, even though I'd rather just lie around.  Ahhhuhhh. (yawning).

Mom called my hubby Bailey's parents.  She called everyone!  Dad is really excited too!  Later Mom went to Saver's to get some towels for when my time comes, and she is setting up a box for me.  See...

She's trying to get me used to it.  I really don't like it yet.  I'd rather just be under Mom and Dad's bed right now.

Well, that's all for now.  I'm really sleepy.  Bark to you soon!

First blog...

Well here goes.  My Mom, Laura thought it would be fun to share our wonderful news with the homeschooling community.  I'm pregnant!  Yep, the countdown begins...

Meanwhile, I would like to introduce myself.  I am a 5 year old Maltese who has been on this wonderful homeschool journey with my family off and on for my whole life.  Homeschooling is great for me because I get to be with my Mom all day and with my brothers and sisters too.  I'll introduce you to them later.

Oh, almost forgot...I met my husband last month after a trip to Colorado.  I got home feeling tired, moody and crampy, and sure enough, Bailey came over to say "HI".  Actually, I met him at my favorite park just before Christmas.  I was leaving with my Mom, when this car pulls up and this man starts telling Mom how cute I am. Then, I saw HIM.  They got out and we introduced ourselves.  Bailey was shy at first, but then warmed up.  He's cute, just a little shorter than I, and has a nice smile and bark.  He's pure Maltese, just like me.  I'll upload a picture as soon as I can.

So here we are a month 1/2 later and I just got home from the vet.  I'm very sleepy now, so I'll write again later and tell you all about our visit, and my x-rays!

Aarf arf!
