One Day at a Time
May. 8, 2006
On to the next challenge....

My dh had a wonderful graduation!!!! It's hard to believe he's finished, although he's still having to study for nursing boards. For those of you that are not familiar with this, someone has to first graduate from nursing school, but then has to pass a national exam (known as the NCLEX) in order to actually become an RN. He will probably take it next week or the one after.

Now, we need to concentrate on selling our house. There are so many things that we need to do to it, and things that I need to organize and still throw away. Please pray for peace in the home and for patience. We've only sold one house in our married lives, and it was a horrible experience. Also, the preliminary market analysis of our current house, shows that we won't make any money. This is the beginning of another challenge in our lives, but it is all leading up to to biggest transition in our lives. It will be worth it as we join the Air Force and move to Colorado!

I'm praying for you. Selling a house can be stressful. We have done that two times in the Air Force and have learned a hard lesson about one. I know God has a plan in mind even before you knew you were moving!

We can't wait until you get to Colorado and we can all meet you!

May. 11, 2006 - Praying for those boards!

Posted by theheartofthehome
I will certainly be praying for your dh's boards. I was a nurse in my "prior life" before staying home with Wyatt...He will do fine....He is more prepared than he knows....And, God will be with him. Praying for the boards, nerves as you all wait on the results, and for your house selling...
This is a scary, but exciting time!!
As an aside, I would like to add you to my friends' list, too. I am eager to keep up with your new military life. I think you will like the military. A community like no other, especially in the AF!!!!
Prayers and blessings,
Janet

May. 11, 2006 - What wise parents you are

Being an army brat, I can't stress enough how glad I am that you home teach. Uprooting children is tough enough but changing schools is very difficult. It's so nice that your children won't see that change. As to the other comments, yes the military community is a nice one. As to the exams, I'll be praying hard. You nurses are incredible people and I express my sincerest appreciation for all you do. Having moved six times in my first six years of marriage all I can say is--label everything well! You'll do fine with so many prayers, I'm sure. God bless and thanks for your post on my site.

We will be praying for you. We have been trying to sell our home, too, in hopes for getting orders.
You will be in our prayers.

May. 13, 2006 - thanks for stopping by my blog :-)

It's good to know I"m not alone, although, I wouldn't wish the HS "rut" on anyone! I read your profile - LUCKY YOU! A L&D Nurse! Very cool. If I were going to have a career, that is what i'd want to do. And Colorado - how beautiful! I didn't think they accepted anyone into the armed forces after a certain age? I remember dh bemoaning the fact in his early 30's (well, earlier, as he's only 33) that he was no longer eligible and he'd just love to go back in! What's dh going to be doing?

Well, just wanted to say hello. I'll definitely be stopping back by. Btw, we're also in the "would love more children but are unable to" catagory. I have PCOS and had to go through infertility treatments for both my pgs (single birth and twins). The fear of multiples along with the uncovered expense of treatments, make it very unlikely we'll ever have another one. I've learned to accept that.

TTYL!

May. 17, 2006 - Congrats!

The congrats extends to your whole family! I'm sure it took all of you cooperating to help your dh through school. My dh is currently a full time student as well as being full time AF. He goes to school online though, so he's home in the evening at least...well sort of. It has been difficult having to pull most of the reigns myself with the family. In the end I know it will pay off if it is in the Lord's will. I pray for a peaceful transition for your family.
