To Bring Up Children

Sep. 12, 2006

A Beginning...

About 9 months ago I began a journey into the whole blo*-o-sphere.  (yes a letter was left out...I have an unusual distaste in my mouth for certain words...one of which is blo*...I can only say it so many times before I no longer can...why? you ask...haven't a clue) What an experience it has been.  It was a concept I was completely unaware of until early 2005.  It occured to me that it might be the ideal journaling situation for me.  It occured to me to try it.

I let several months slip by without doing a thing about it until a dear friend of mine mentioned that I should try out this blo* thing and she thought it would be good for me and I would be good at it. (isn't she sweet?)

So, in early 2006 I began my adventure on Blogger.  It took awhile to learn the etiquette.  To learn the concept.  It did not take long at all to find that is can be a place of unbelievable support, encouragement and uplifting.  How I have come to love this "other-world".

It has taken me almost the 9 months to realize that I need to bring order to my posting life.  I had come across a few moms that had blo*s here at Homeschoolblogger and really liked them. Then, when I discovered one of my favorite reads had "My Other Blog" listed on her sidebar and it was housed here and it was about her adventures in homeschooling, I knew it would be my first step in clearing clutter from my "life post"!!! (so thank you dear Rainbow Cottage/Wildwood Homeschool, thank you!)

It is my intention to use this blog for all things school related.  Tell my stories, (boring and all), log our progress, (verrrrry boring) and find some  new families to support and read about and learn some new things for us to try!

The "hows and whys" of us starting homeschool can be found by clicking here...

The ongoing process of it will now be found in this place on Homeschoolblogger.

I have to keep reminding myself that there will be overlap and that is OK!!!  I am also trying to justify keeping up more than one blog.  But I will get over it and find the way...especially since I will be able to see how long it takes to do certain activites versus how long I allot for said activity.  I can see emotional changes in my children as the year progresses...(yada yada yada)

I also would like to include our weekly menu here complete with recipes as needed and find some new ones from any of you too!

So as hum-drum as it may sound this is the post that will keep me organized...comment if you like...read if you can (drudge through it that is)  I appreciate any and all!

If you read be sure to comment and I will come and see you too!

God's blessings to you!

Tam,

It's a wonderful spot. It's inspiring, inspired, beautiful, newsworthy and so in line with your recent organizing.

Sure a part of me was fearful the 'twittering' would suffer, but I love what I've read...each and every line!

God bless you and this endeavor! this calling!
Kim

P.S. It IS weird being anonymous...though I'm sure you'll know kpjara when you read it!
