Do you use your time on January 1st, or at least take time during the week, to write out goals for the year? I'm going to try to get my older boys to set some goals tomorrow. We'll see how that one goes! I think I will give them areas to create at least one goal for...like "recreation" (that one will be filled up first and fast!), then I'll add educational goals, spiritual goals -- maybe even "physical" goals - but that might go with recreation. It gets to be difficult to motivate people who aren't very motivated...well, except for their own areas...like skateboarding!
I also will try doing my own goals...as soon as I get some lesson plans done and the Presidents Projects for my 9th grade class checked. It was a good project -- they found not only the important dates and people around the presidents, but also had to find facts, a presidential accomplishment and a presidential quote. I've been enjoying reading them -- and learning little facts myself. If you check on www.Toytowntreasures.com there is a page on there with a presidential sheet...it doesn't have all the areas that I had for my class, but it does have a lot of things a student could look up. I'm hoping to make this into another unit study notebooking ebook...with all the facts already gathered and a part of the book. Well, don't know when that will happen!
Happy New Year!
Don't forget -- there are over 100 worksheets on my site.
