When our boys were younger, I loved to throw in a "fun" educational day once in a while. We'd just "throw out" the normal things we were doing, (like studying math or grammar) and do a one day "unit study" of some type. Sometimes it was a long science project or a day when we'd just play various educational games. Sometimes I actually thought up some things to do under a "theme" -- like for Valentine's day when we did a bit of a study about hearts. There is one idea of a one day study now up on Toytown Treasures to go along with Valentine's Day.
