I thought I had a good idea, like I had this brilliant idea yesterday 3 children made a big batch of choc chip cookies and they managed this in a rather civilised manner. I then told Eric (12) he can do the rum balls today, now one would think this would be a relatively simple task, one child, one bowl it has to be easy but give this child control over a recipe and all of a sudden we better all stand to attention. I also made a huge mistake and got him to make a real treat for this family so they were ALL VERY keen to see what was happening in that bowl and then add another mix and that is me who kept coming out and to test the recipe to make sure it was all mixing together well, it's a very important job I tried to assure him. So you get the picture I have a boy standing guard over the ingredients somewhat like a lion protecting his young and then you have the predators trying to take these precious young and you have the gist of what was happening in my kitchen this afternoon. Also keep in mind while Eric was protecting his young (rumballs) from being eaten by the predaters (family) he was having his fair share of a feast on them. So he then gets them made and we think after a very short period in the fridge setting that we are able to start eating them when he comes screaming in the house snatching them from us, he then separates them evenly and places them in little bags for us, so I decided for revenge on this act I ate them all at once to prove he needed to mellow out slightly.
So there you have my peaceful homeschooling family cooking in an organised manner just like I have seen in all those homeschooling magazines
