two entries in one

Where to begin. June, we lost our 5th child due to miscarriage. I was so depressed and so self absorbed, but our Gracious Lord taught me to not dwell on our difficulties, because on July 1st I found my father dead on his floor. My dad was a believer, but that was very difficult because my mom was out of town and my brother live in Texas. Shortly after my dad passed, we went to a Family Camp in Northern Michigan and we asked the Lord to direct our paths and we were open to His plan in our lives. So we returned home at the end of July my husband and I found out about a job possiblity that thrills us to the soul and makes us nervous. He sent his resume, we filled out applications, had friends send letters of Recommendation and now, we are heading the the Christian camp to go for an interview. We are still starting school on Monday. As far as that goes I am doing Heart of Dakota for the Basics and bible portion, and then we will do other things for the rest of preschool. I am excited to start this! I guess, I am asking for Prayer for the weekend because it is a 12 hour drive for us and we hope and pray that the Lord will show us what He wants for our family. If anyone out there knows the Homeschool laws of Arkansas, that would be helpful. Blessings to all!

Books for DD

I am so excited! I just picked up our curriculum for next year! :)  I bought it on ebay.  I have looked and looked for a curriculum, that encompasses both phonics, art, history, and bible memory!  I have looked at Heart of Dakota and would like to try the Little Hands to Heaven.

i hope this works!  Is there anyone out there who has used it and do they like it?  I think it will be great!  It comes with the tapes and the book as well.

Have a super day!

35 Years!

O.k. so yesterday I turned 35.  First off I don't feel like I am 35.  Second, I didn't expect to be where I am at.  It is not bad, just different!  I was hoping to have my debts paid off and well, that has not work at all.  3rd, I wanted to have more children, but God has a different plan than we do and it isn't what I want it is what the Lord wants us to go through.

Next School year!

Just some thoughts!  Please help when you get a chance!

My daugther will be 3.5 in September.  I was chatting with DH about next year.  There is a Christian School in the area, but I can Homeschool my DD for a fraction of that price!  :)  Here is where I need some help.  I am looking at a few different things for her to do during school time.  :)  I think Explode the code, after she recognizes her letters.  Reading/ Crafts is Before Five in a Row, and then the other part that I am having some struggles is the General Preschool Portion.  I am Looking at Little Hands To Heaven, by Heart of Dakota.  I do not know anyone who has used this so, I am unsure if it is a good choice or Should I do something else.  Any Advice in this area would be great! :)  Thanks to those moms in advance who want to help!

On a side note, I have been seeing something about workboxes.  I am very interested in this, because I can give her a craft project in these boxes.  This is something that I think I will do.  Also as far as scheduling, I am using the Titus2 approach.  I really like this! :)

Recently, we have been doing "school" time more frequently.  She loves school! I have a few pictures to put up while she is doing school work!  I hope and pray in 10 when she is in Jr. High that she loves school as well!

If you have other suggestions, I would take those as well!

Have a Blessed Sunday

Long Week!

Good Afternoon!  This is the first day in a week and a half that I can actually say things are back to normal!  A little over a week ago, my husband's very influential Grandfather went home to be with our Lord Jesus.  With that passing, great shoes have been left behind.  So we have had a few busy days. Yesterday, I and my little peanut have had the flu.  It has been a very long week.  School is slow, especially with this chasm that is there.  But God is good.  She still love school!

Working the weekend!  That is good, I like work!

Have a Blessed weekend!

My Baby is Three!

Oh how times have changed!  My Little Girl is three!  She is so very sweet!  She asks every day to do school!  We have not trully started yet, because she is just three!  She can do matching, shapes, colors, and knows  the difference between  Letters and Numbers!  She is bright and I think will be reading by 4.  She wants to read so badly!  It is very cute!

I was just thinking I haven't posted in a while!   We are moving again.  I feel like that is all we do!  :)  However, it is o.k.  Makes me purge my items quite a bit!

I hope every one here has a great weekend!

Catching up!

Lots has happened to us recently.  I was going to start school in September and have decided it might be better to do it another day.  I think once my little girl is three we will start. She is good for about 5 minutes if that! :)

Until then, we will continue reading, talking about things and what is going on around us!

I am still reading the other posts, but have decided to hold on for now.

Have a super day!

Our Trip and other ramblings

A weak and a half ago, my sister in law, my dd and I went to Portland, OR to visit family.  The first flight for dd and she did great!  What a great traveler I have!  I just loved being able to visit that part of the country.  I drove up to Tacoma area and visited a cousin of mine and that was great fun! Also, we did a little bit of Sight seeing. Next Time, we are doing more sight seeing.  Going to go when it isi warmer and go to Crater Lake and to the ocean.

Homeschooling front:

I believe I am going to start in August instead of September.  I believe it will work out much better, because in December, I am going to have another baby, hopefully, the Lord willing!  After our misscarriage, we have been trying, so finally it happened.  My cousin, who also homeschools, told me about a book and I am hoping it will be in today's mail.  It is by Ruth Beechick.  I hope it is a good one.  Well, need to rest, before DD gets up.

Have a Blessed Day!

Amazing!

I just have to share this with you! In January I started Baby sitting at another persons house! I think next year, the little girl will come to my house! You see, a few weeks ago, I was clean and their was a letter A on the Floor, like a copy of a letter A.  My dd, who is 2 now, said "A".  I thought Oh, o.k. she is just saying A, then she pointed to it and said "Mommy, A."  I was amazed!  I am so very Fortunate to have this little blessing in my life!  I just love being around her!  Except when of course she is super cranky!  Next year the little girl will be almost three as my dd.  So I think I will to a little k3 with them! I started, then I decided to stop!  But definitely in the fall I will begin again!  As for now, we read a ton and soon, potty training is to begin!  She started, now she doesn't use the big potty.  Any ideas?  I know when she is ready, I will have her use the potty!  Well, need to get the dishes done and see what the cat wants!   I have started the prepatory Curriculum at Brightly Beaming!  It is great! But I am going to add some more to it!  Like Memory Verses, Pre-writing activities, and Circle Time!  Show and tell and things like that!  I am so excited for her to learn and to be taught!  Oh, another interesting proposition is being dropped into our laps!  My DH and I have been married for just 5 years.  And we are just starting to get ourselves out of the hole we dug last summer! :)  Anyways, my grandmother recently passed and left the house with 4 rentals to my mom!   My mom approached us and we are moving for the 8th time sometime this summer, but the rent is much cheaper and the house is a bit bigger!  :)  A back yard and it is right in town! I can walk to places using the sidewalk!  That will be nice!  If anyone has ideas about prewriting activities that would be great! I have thought about getting the Sonlight Core A Parent companion, but I do not see any comments on it. Has anyone picked it up yet? Just thinking about it! I think Either I use the Prepatory Curriculm or that!  However, with the Prepatory I can use Letter of the week!

O.k. enough for now!

Blessings to all!

Chicks!

O.k. I just got back from running into the store, stopping at work and coming home! While I was at a store I noticed a family of about 8 people! I love seeing parents with their many children! It reminds me of little chicks, now these chicks ranged from Teenage to about a year! It was very sweet! Some of the boys followed their dad, while the others followed their momma! How sweet! I am blessed with my sweet little girl and am glad that she is my little chick!

Joys of Motherhood and Wifefood!

DH and Daughter went to his grandma's on Saturday and a little cousin was there with the flu! We think, because they stayed home yesterday from school with the flu including the mom! UGH! dh and dd, have the flu! I am not feeling 100% and I have to work tonight!   Not sure how that will go?  Well, after much prayer and consideration , I am going to start the The Letter of the Week Prepatory Curriculum with my daughter! I babysit, a little girl during tax season and she will be doing the same thing! so I need to add that to my blog!

Traveling

Yesterday, I was traveling with my parents and this is the story I emailed to friends this morning:  Please pray for my father! I was venting to my friends about him.

My cousin who has been in the Indiana National guard for 23 years was commissioned yesterday! He was a Major for about 6 years and now he is a Kernel! It was very touching! When he was done introducing us, they all said Hoorah and clapped! It was awesome!  You see ihs father was in the Army and died in 2002, his memorial service was the day before dhand I got engaged.  Uncle Dave went to Vietnam twice and was a captain, when he left the army.  My Uncle would have been extactic about his son becoming a Kernel in the National Guard.  Then we drove home.
Let me tell you vent story. We have lived in this home for 3 months and my father has yet to come to my house.  Last night they dropped Lydia and I off and I said oh do you want come in my house and he said he better not.  He doesn't have to stay, just come in and walk around.  HE SAID NO!  I was so angry with him and I didn't even say goodby.  I invited them in for dinner, they said no.  I was so frustrated with them.  I understand my mom, but I don't understand my dad! He is an old man to me. He doesn't help my mom at all he is rude to her and she is use to it.  Now please understand that I am not mad at him all the time. He is not  in good health because he never leaves their house. He is like a hermit crab and doesn't leave. It is very sad to me.  Because he doesn't leave his home he is not well.
O.k. i know this is the most that  I have written in a long time to I need to vent somewhere!

Confirmation!

I love it when the Lord brings confirmation. I have been praying for my husband. He has not said either way whether to home educate our children or not. However last night, he said that he felt we should do it. :)

Snow has arrived!  My daughter who will be 2 in a month, where does the time go?  Loves the snow!

I am so blessed to have her!

Merry Christmas! I would love to change my Blog backround, but I am not quite sure how to do this!

We should be back to the norm now! Work at normal times and such! Blessings!

Discovery!

Just this morning as my daughter was playing I realized something that I would like to do. I have recently been reading about Five in a Row. I think this is a great idea! I would like to try it. I have some of those books somehwere in my garage in a tub.  My daughter is almost two, but absolutely loves to read books! she already has a love of reading! So if I could find a resource to borrow the Before Five in a Row, I would.  Does anyone know of a Homeschool Lending Library online? Maybe join for a fee. Let me know if there is any such thing!

Also, our car that we were borrowing has got some major problems.  Gas leak and break line leak.  A real bummerr, my joy of having a car during the day has ended!  Oh well, that is o.k.

We have another lead for a vehicle!  DD is napping so I have a few minutes to blog!

Blessings to all!
