A Blue Question
Jon, my six year old, asked some hefty questions this week. Here is one of them:
"If there are no colors that I can mix together to make blue, is blue something that can't be made--is it like God who's always been?"
After I tilted my head and tried to hide my amazement I answered, "God is the only one who was never created--He always has been. And it is He who made the earth and all the colors that come with it. Blue is a color he made and it is one of the three 'primary colors' which are special because they can make the other colors. But really all the things God made (that we can see) have color in them." Then I said something about pigments and the spectrum at which point my knowledge of color ran out and I paused--and said, "Does that answer your question?"
It did (for now).

in-i-ti-ate: to bring into practice
The first entry of this blog feels like the the first page of a crisp, new notebook--too white to write on. But paper is for the using and blogs are for the sharing; so here is my first mark. May it lead to many more.
