i've not updated this site much. In fact i'm in the process of looking for a different blog site to host my homeschooling stuff. I'm not sure where I'll go or what I'll use. I'm not a fan of the layout here. Just wanted to let you know IF You check this site that I'll start posting soon :) |

Started out on time for the first time this week. We've just had so much going on. New things in our schedule, just tons of things happening that we expected but it's really confusing getting our days straight for the first time. I had some issues with her wanting to listen again. Finally I read a page, stopped...told her what was happening (at her level without so MUCH info) then went on to the next page. Still didn't take a ton of time yet, she did comprehend what was going on. I asked her what happened and she could give me an answer I'd expect from a five year old. I was really pleased with it. And she DID earn her art time but we were so busy all day it didn't happen. After morning homeschool, the kids took a bath and ate lunch and got ready to go. Well the girls did. Elzie got to stay home with daddy and nap( yeah right) and hang out. So it was just Gretchen and Emma that I took to the Co-op meeting. I was VERY frustrated when I drove up at 10 til to find NOBODY There. Then I went to the other church in our town (across the street) and nobody there....so I was called and nobody answered...hmmmm....so then I went up to get gas (light was on and the car was shouting FEED ME)...so I got gas and by the time I came back by they were there WHEW!!!!! I was going to be really upset...in fact I had plans on going to the "leaders" house and seeing what was going on....Not that I was mad...just upset that I'd not been informed for two weeks in a row...but all was good. I said a little "thank you God" prayer once we found out all was great! We let the kids play on the playground while we planned out the years activities and figured out who woudl teach what when. I'm in charge of an art day with scrapbooking...making little books that they can use for gifts, or keep for their own use. And then again in April, I'll be teaching a photography coarse to the kids. Not sure how I'm going to accomplish this but they are in November and April so I've got time! I'm kind of scared to teach OTHER peoples kids....but I will be warmed up to them all by then and know all of their names (I pray) so I'm sure it'll be great!
Thanks for reading. Have a blessed day! |

Was such a trip. Started out at like 11am. Emma did NOT want to do school. OUr neighbors kids are in town this week and she loves to play with them. She thought that it was totally unfair that we were doing school and not outside playing. So after forcing her to stay on task for an hour I gave in and let her go play. It was lunch time anyway...so then at 2:45 I started back up. I've been having problemes with Emma getting her to listen and comprehend stories I read to her. Whether it be Bible stories or literature. SO I put mythinking cap on at about the same time she said when are we ever going to do art again. It clicked...for the time being Art is her incentive. Tomorrow will be Art day if she behaves and listens. I've tried EVERY technique to get her to listen. Today we were outside, playing in the grass while we read with the incentive of Art tomorrow...So I am not sure which it was but she was ablt to tell me all about how William Tell shot the apple off Walter's (his son) head and how Tell got taken to prison and how Walter's grandpa took him back to his mother's house. SO yay...she FINALLY listened....we'll see how tomorrow goes. She did really well all in all though without that frustration session in there! LOL. I'll let you know how friday goes. We have our first Co-op tomorrow granted it's still happening and not canceled...I'll be calling beforehand! LOL
Thanks for reading. |

If you are interested I've started a forum for Christian homeschooling moms. It's BRAND new....with only a couple members. But I thought I'd put a blurb on here about it. Feel FREE to check it out! Still working on the format by the way....it'll be awesome once we get it going good!

Sorry, I never got around to updating this yesterday (well for the FULL update anyway).
Emma had a great time yesterday. She did her CBS in the morning. Then when the kids were laying down (Elzie and Gretchen) we started our schooling. She's really NOT into the books I'm reading her, but we'll make it through them eventually. Her favorite part of yesterday was the plants. We've been learning all week about how pollen helps flowers by being moved from one plant to another by bees and birds and wind. Well...today (yesterday) we found out how seeds were made and so the science experiment was planting kidney beans in a jar with a paper towell. in one week they should be sprouting. She's been checking it hourly. Poor girl doesn't realize it'll be a week. I've TOLD her but she says "I know, I'm just checking". It's cute!
So in light of hte day we decided to plant some flowers of our own. Today she'll be walking around with her nature journal and drawing what she sees. Should be fun!
Here are some pics from yesterday!
This next picture cracks me up. As Emma was digging what little loose dirt she had at this point. Gretchen was scooping up and dumping it on her! Gretchen would giggle a little after she was finished! LOL It was fun to watch.
Thanks for looking! |

Well today was our first CBS meeting. It went great. Emma loves her class, as does Elzie. And get this...Miss GRETCHEN loves it too. She reached right for her nursery teacher, and then ended up sleeping for 45 minutes! HOLY COW, the child doesn't rock to sleep often and then NEVER on strangers. She must have been a gentle soul!
I'll update again later of how our homeschooling day goes, thought I'd quickly post that CBS went great! And now I've got homework! LOL |

to put my entries about school in here! I'm so bad! I get online...do what I usually do...then get off..I foget about updating you here (sorry shell!)
Anyway! The update. Well...Friday of last week was supposed (YES SUPPOSED) to be our first Co-op day....we weren't informed that they changed that day to THIS week. So after pepping it up to Emma...Taking pictures of her all ready for her first co-op day...and GOING to the place (which isn't that big of a deal it's only 1/10 of a mile if that down the road)....we find out it's not happening. I had one UPSET little five year old in my backseat.
What's a momma to do? What makes EVERYTHING better? What tastes good and is "good" for you?
I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM, FOR ICE CREAM!
Yep...DQ got our business that day! She was a little happier then...and then we talked about how it'd be seven more days until co-op day and this time, we'll double check....Emma has talked about it every day since! Let's just say...this week ISN'T payday-week...so I hope that it IS happening! LOL...or she's going to have to enjoy ice chopped up in my blender with milk poored over it! ;) LOL.
Monday went well. It was a late day. We had errands to run in the morning. I have to say I LOVE that about homeschooling that IF you need to delay your day YOU CAN!!! No questions asked...it just HAPPENS. THough I'd much rather get on a schedule where any running happens AFTER school so it doesn't get pushed back too late. But it went well.
Today was one of the days that I should have dont HS first. BUT we didn't. We had more errands to run (had to get a new shower curtain, milk, and other MUCH needed things!!! Shampoo being on the top of hte list. I have VERY sensitive skin and anythign that isn't organic seems to break out my scalp and cause me to have itchy skin...I buy the organic stuff...NO problems at all!!! Darned ole chemicals)...and anyway...we got home..it's GORGEOUS outside...so I let them play outside for a while (it was 2:00pm when we got home), pretty soon it was time to wake daddy up (he works nights) and then it was supper....anyway...if you can't tell...we didn't homeschool today. BUT...that is ok we'll make up for it tomorrow and friday. Since those are our busy days from here on out (at least for a bit)....
WHY? We enrolled into a CBS (Community Bible Study) and YAY it's about the Old Testament...something I feel I need more knowledge in!! A lady from our church, who really is like a third gramma to my kids, is paying the application fee for us (how stinkin sweet is that) Lord knows, I could NOT afford the 30 dollars it'd have taken to apply..I'd have said thanks but no thanks. And then there is a weekly fee, but I think I can swing the 4.00 per week that it'll cost. (may all be in PENNIES ROFL but hey I think I can get it LOL (j/k) )....So anyway... every wednesday morning from 9-11 we'll be doing that. Which means we have to leave early and especially early tomorrow to meet with Janice (the lady who we are going with) cause we dont know the way! LOL. YAWN....it's going to be early! So no late night on HERE tonight!!!!
Fridays: Like I said before are Co-op days....so we'll make up for our lost day on those two days...LOL!!!
MIchelle....my only devoted reader! :) I have a picture or two for you! :) One you've seen...but here they are! :) Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
And if I have any new readers...PLEASE let me know, leave a comment...it's nice to have the support! :) I can't wait to get a chance to read some of the blogs on this site! :)
PICS: Em's (supposed) first day of Co-op...will take another pic of the real first day this week! :) But isn't she CUTE...wow...my FIVE YEAR OLD....she's grown SO much!
More of Elzie's "A" week! THis was from Friday I think. A is for apple you know. He did pretty good! He's been making a's on everything. The Church bulletin (sp?), My dusty GLASS table outside (lil booger..I said NO he said BUT MOMMA A IS FOR APPLE...who can argue with THAT)....just EVERYWEHRE! Now it's time to confuse him and add B! LOL. I started doing B's on the paper at church and he just laughed...he did try but then he giggled cause I said "Line-Loopty-Loopty" ("Thilly Momm" he said)

Well today we switched to week four (we had done part of week three and tuesday and wednesday were spent catching up and finishing up week three)....
Emma does pretty good with it all. We started reading the Bible story at the end of the day (bedtime) and then the next day we review what we read about. She did SO much better listening AND answering. YAY found something that will work!!! She loves her Bible color sheets so we do that every mornign while chatting about what the story was about and then we do her Memory verse. Which she LOVES and is SO good at. (THey are all in a form of a song but we review all of them every morning...we are on "d" now, and she can still do A-C)
She really likes the stories but has a hard time listening. I think I'm going to have to let her play with playdoh or something that isn't distracting for when I read....
Anyway...that is the rundown on the update. I'll let you know how our first coop day goes (tomorrow).....
Thanks for reading, Michelle! ;) (since I believe you are the only one that DOES) ;)

Well...Since Elzie decided that HE loves school as much as Emma...I went ahead and decided to plan for him some preschool type stuff. It wont be daily if he dones't want to do it daily, but if he's up when we are doing homeschool and he's wanting to be in the same room, we'll be working with him, too. I used the preschool coloring book pages from www.letteroftheweek.com (thanks michelle), but I'm not doing the curriculum plan like they have on there...we are basically going to go through the letters first and just practice writing them and talkign about them, and he'll get ot do other things like cut and paste and such, but we're not doing anything "strict" at all. But here is my sweet boy. Week 1 being "A" (of coarse) and we started today....he loved it! He thought it was so cool and I was pleasently surprised by his effort. here are pics from that....
Then Emma of coarse is in Kindergarten. I forgot about taking pictures on our original start date back in July, and then our REAL start date was on tuesday, and I again forgot. So we'll be taking "first co-op day" pictures on friday where I"ll dress her up and get her back pack on and such. But here is a pic from today doing her math (one of her favorite subjects...she'd do that book all day long) |

I've not forgotten this site...or updating it....we are about three weeks into our homeschool right now...we took most of August off. We'll be starting back up with the middle of week four hopefully tomorrow (unofficially) to try to finish off that part....then for SURE starting back up on September 4th.
Just thought I'd let ya'll know what was going on! :) |
