Under His Construction

• Aug. 17, 2007 - Travel Trailer Sweet Travel Trailer

Well - as some of you already know we lived in a travel trailer for a year in NV before moving here a little over  a year ago. It looks like we will be going back to trailer living again if our house sells (BTW Anyone looking to move to SE Idaho? Here is our lovely home!) anytime soon.  I am actually excited about going back to the simple life of an RV - there truly are many benefits involved - for me personally and for us as a family! What possible benefits coulf there be you ask? Here are just a few:

1. Family togetherness! We really grew as a family in our cozy little abode - In such a small space there really is not much room for selfishness to dwell - love becomes our motive as we work together to make living in these small confines possible.

2. Easy maintenance - can't beat 20 minutes tops for a complete top to bottom cleaning eh?

3. Hardiness - a definite character trait that was a necessary part of our Pioneer heritage, yet missing from present day Americans. We spent a lot of time outdoors no matter what the weather!

4. Covetousness conquered - the real necessities of life are learned when their is no room to own stuff - you learn what all things you thought were 'must haves' that you can definitely live without. And guess what? you learn that life is actually better w/o all of that stuff!

There really are many more benfits but these are the ones I am looking most forward to again! So is anyone interested in what our living quarters will look like?

Here is the floor plan of our 2005 Cougar travel trailer:

Will you still have internet use there?
Sounds like some good things can come out of RV living, but I don't do well with noise and clutter. If it was summer I would do okay, but not in winter. Hopefully you have another place to live by winter.

Mandi, from a fellow RVer for a season, that is a rockin' RV! The one we lived in was definitely smaller and older - but we all did just fine. :-)

The benefits you listed are all right on target. Since we had neither power nor water when we lived in ours - lived on a generator and propane, and hauled in water - I would say I came to really appreciate French press coffee. And warm days when I could do laundry in a tub outside. And the lovely deer that wandered around the property at ease, with nothing modern to frighten them away. And hey, kids, it's 33 degrees out, above freezing and plenty warm, go play!
