As the first month of 2009 comes to a close, I thought it might be fun to share with all of you our top ten (in no particular order) great new products and books (mostly books - ( : - imagine that!) found in 2008 that have quickly become favorites in our home!
1.

I love these! They make flossing a breeze!
2.

Thank you Alton Brown for teaching me how to cook a Perfect Roast Turkey and introducing me to this fabulous kitchen timer! All you do is set it to the desired internal temperature of the meat you are cooking (don't forget to allow for carry-over cooking) and let the oven and thermometer do the rest! No more overcooked, dry meat around here!
3.

Extremely healthy and wonderfully delicious alternative to shortning and butter for all of your baking!
4.

Really, truly, I am not lying - 5 minutes (or less) a day! And yes, it is yeast bread!
I really love this book!
5.
Absolutely the best book I read this year! Mr. Burtness has done a fantastic job of explaining government. He shows what God's model for government should look like and how our Founding Fathers modeled our government at its beginnings after God's model. Every American should read this book!
6.
This is by far the best book on Biblical child training I have read thus far! Ginger Plowman has taken heart-oriented child discipleship and made clear the daily application. I have used this Biblical approach with tremendous results!
7.
This is a tremendous read for anyone that teaches children! It has changed our homeschool in a huge way much to my children's delight!
8.
It is never too early to begin teaching your children about God's grace and this is just the book to do the job! Great to use as a devotional! We will be going through this once a year for sure.

and last but not least......

The kids got the Audio of this fantastic book, written by Amy LeFeuvre in 1896, for Christmas last year. A precious story.
Here is the description:
Who is your most foul and cruel enemy? After reading Teddy’s Button, you may have a new answer to that question. Flamboyant Teddy Platt cannot keep silent about the glorious history of his sacred button. Soon this passion brings him into contention with a new little girl in the village. God uses this enmity to bring Teddy to his knees ready to sign up in the Lord’s Army prepared for service in the war against his worst enemy—himself! Are you a faithful servant of the King flying the banner of Love over your life? Teddy has some lessons to teach us all.
Okay, actually I have one more book that must be shared as well - we'll call it a tie for #10!

Treasures of the Snow
An incredible story of forgiveness! A must read for every family!
Here is the description:

And while I did not share our top ten list for 2007, I did share about our favorite read for that year. You can read all about Ned here.
