About me

Hi, I'm Adam. I'm a home-schooled student. On this blog you will probably eventually see commentary on the stuff I'm doing, and perhaps even some psychological ramblings. :) As, a Christian, I may start a few theological threads. I just find that sort of thing very interesting. It's great learning more about God and his creation. That's if I ever get time to write!

Welcome to my blog!

Recently we watched the movie "Pendragon", by “Burns Family Studios”. It's a great film, and has many commendable Christian themes, including bravery, loyalty, and forgiveness. All Christian families should consider watching this film. It is one of the most ambitious attempts at creating a full quality Christian film.

Although most of the actors are non-professionals, many put in memorable performances. The film quality is good, and the cinematography and special effects are virtually indistinguishable from a Hollywood film. It was quite exciting from start to finish (in fact, perhaps too much for young children). Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it.

From the Pendragon webpage:

“The year is A.D. 411 - the Empire of Rome is crumbling. As the legions are called back to the Eternal City, the Isle of Britain is abandoned to Saxon marauders…”

“Son of British Chieftain Justinian the Pendragon, young Artos has grown up in a quiet coastal village. Justinian entrusts the boy with a vision – to defend the people God has trusted them with. But, with the attack of Barbarian raiders, the village is destroyed, and Artos, the only survivor, is taken as a Saxon slave.”

A thread that many watchers may not notice at first is the background of the story. The age-old story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table seems to have been a major influence for the story. For instance, the main character, Artos, appears to refer to Arthur. According to legend, Arthur was the son of Uther Pendragon, whereas in the movie, the main characters father was known as the pendragon. Wenneveria is taken from the legenday character Guinevere, the wife of King Arthur. It's possible that the character Cadeyrn is taken from the legendary Lancelot for reasons that are clear to those familiar with the tale if they watch the film.
