4th of July parade

4th of July Parade:

I know it's months away, but we'd like to have a Homeschool entry in the parade based on the founding of America.  This will be an opportunity for your child to research an individual from that time period and dress up like them.  We will be portraying individuals from both the Loyalist and Patriot side, and helping people (beginning with our own children) to remember why we celebrate the 4th of July.  I've set up a page on the Utah Families website we will track which individuals have been assigned.  We are sending the information out this early because there are preparations to be made.  We want our students to have plenty of time to learn about their assigned individual.  We will also be building a liberty bell and perhaps doing other projects through the rest of the school year in preparation for this event.  If you are interested in participating take a look at the website: http://www.utahfamilies.net/Tooele.htm.  If you have questions, or to let us know who your child would like to portray, contact Melanie Skelton, melskel@gmail.com or 843-4443.
