Scheduling an induction.

Well I suppose my patience is wearing thin.  DH and I have decided to schedule an induction.  We are still going to give nature some time so we are scheduling for Thursday the tenth.

My mom will be thrilled I am sure, as that is her birthday.

I am having some mild contractions today so I am hopeful to still birth at home, but at least now I can see there is an end to my perpetual pregnancy and a beginning to a "normal" daily life again on the horizon.

OK baby (whose name we have not yet figured out), ok Oxytocin, let's go!  You have two and a half days to get this thing done!

Still nothing!

Tomorrow is 42 weeks.  We are still doing well but not holding a little squiggly baby yet, well, in our arms.  Man, it must be nicer in there than I think it is.

My patience is holding out pretty well I think.  I don't feel like bouncing off the walls and I haven't said that I hope this pregnancy is over soon.  I am pretty content with the Biophysical Profiles and midwife visits that all say things are going well.  So I am going to wait a bit more before I start considering rushing things along.

Today I am going to go grocery shopping unless someone can think of a recipe to feed 7 people using 6 oz of orange juice, 1/2 gallon of milk  and 4 eggs and condiments.  Yah, I thought it was a long shot.

We also have an appointment that we need to take my mom to.  Her chemo is going to be very, VERY expensive.  Her portion, after Medicare pays, is $750 a treatment (once a week) so hopefully we can find some financial help for her.  I am really just stunned that it could be so much.  I am also very disappointed at the amount of help available to a senior that is not completely destitute.  You can find a lot of help if you (the senior) have an income of 600. or less per month!  600.00!  No one can live on that?!  Just heat and electric here in the winter can get as high as 300. in a month!

Ugh!  I need to get off that subject, it gets me started on sooooo many other things.  I should go anyway.  I want to hop in the shower before we leave and would prefer to not have FROZEN hair when I step outside.

Thanks for all the kind notes and prayers.  They are all so appreciated.

Jen

My ticker says...

I won't be pregnant for ever.  But I think it is lying.

It is now December 30 and I was due on the 20th.  I only have one more day for this baby to be born in 2007!!  Now I realize it is only one day but there just seems to be something inherently wrong with being due in 2007 and giving birth in 2008.  I've heard all the good hearted "Maybe he'll be the first baby of the New Year" jokes and frankly, it wouldn't happen.  It is just not the way my life works.  In my world he'd be like the third baby of the new year.

Anywhoo, my complaining isn't going to make it happen any sooner so I should probably just be glad things are still going well and count this toward the blessing of teaching my patience.

Obviously, we are on a break from school.  I had intended to start again January 7 but I think I will have to be a little flexible with that since that is only 8 days away and I am 41 1/2 weeks pregnant!  Even if I give birth today, I don't think I'd be up for much in a week!

Have a wonderful New Year celebration!  And may the Lord richly bless you in the upcoming year.
