Items needed: lampstand, construction paper, keys, dress-up clothes, powder, toy sword.
Books: What Is a Star? by Chris Arvetis and Carole Palmer.
1. Craft: Make 7 stars from construction paper. Use as part of the visual aid.
2. Read Rev. 1:1-20.
3. Visual aid: lampstand, 7 construction paper stars, keys, dress-up clothes, powder, toy sword. Use to dress up one child as Jesus with stars in one hand and a sword in his mouth. Powder his hair to make it white.
1. Make a flashcard set of the Greek alphabet.

Lesson 2: Letters to the Seven Churches - 3 days
Items needed: atlas.
1. Craft: Make seven scrolls from letters on pages .
2. Read them to the children.
1. Recite the Greek alphabet.
1. Find the location of the cities of these seven churches, as well as the island of Patmos, on an atlas.
2. Read about Asia Minor in the atlas.
3. Each child may make a map of this area.
1. Compose a spelling/vocabulary list from geography/cultural study for each child. Use for handwriting practice as well as spelling/vocabulary study.
2. Write business letter requesting stamp samples from around the world and foreign coin-banknote packet (Free Stuff for Kids).
3. Writing assignment: What would Jesus say to you if He wrote you a letter?
Lesson 3: God’s Throne - 4 days
Items needed: one large brown paper bag per child.
1. Craft: Each child makes a living creature costume from a large brown paper bag. On one side draw a lion’s face, on another a calf’s face, on another a man’s face, and on the last side an eagle’s face. Cut out eyes on at least one side. They may wear the costumes during the Bible reading.
2. Read Rev. 4:1-11 and Ezekiel 1:5-24.
3. Sing “Holy, Holy, Holy.”

Lesson 4: The First Six Seals - 2 days
Items needed: stickers, rocking horse (or other horse), white fabric, paper crown, red fabric, toy sword, black fabric, scales, dolls or puppets, black construction paper sun, red paper moon, and stars, wax and letter seal.
Advance preparation: 1. Make a scroll for use in lessons 4 and 5: On a sheet of paper, draw seven trumpets and seven bowls. Roll up and secure with seven stickers (seals). 2. Cut out a black construction paper sun, a red construction paper moon, and some stars. Have the children make them for a craft, if you wish.
1. Read Rev. 5:1-7:17. At appropriate times, break open each seal and use the following visual aids.
1st seal Cover a rocking horse with a white sheet (white horse). Have a child sit on it and give him a crown.
2nd seal Cover the rocking horse with a red cloth. Give the child a toy sword.
3rd seal Cover the horse with a black cloth. Hold up scales.
4th seal Show a toy sword.
5th seal Put dolls or puppets under a makeshift altar.
6th seal Show a black construction paper sun, red paper moon, and stars.
Rev. 7:3 Place a sticker on each child’s forehead.

Lesson 5: Seventh Seal and the First Six Trumpets - 4 days plus garden care
Items needed: six party horns, incense, globe, paper sun, moon, and stars, key, toy locust, wormwood seeds.
Books: Rodale’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs.
1. Craft: Make seven “ram’s horn trumpets” from party horns. For each trumpet, cut two shapes similar to the one shown below from construction paper. Tape to each side of a party horn. Blow them at appropriate times during Bible reading.
2. Read Rev. 8:1-9:21.
Visual aids:
8:1 Break seventh seal.
8:3-4 Burn incense.
8:6-7 Blow first trumpet. Drop ice on a globe.
8:8-9 Blow second trumpet.

Lesson 6: The Angel and the Little Scroll - 1 day

1. Read Rev. 10:1-11. While reading v. 9-10, stuff a small scroll in a child’s mouth. Ask him if it tastes like honey.

Visual aid: Draw a floor plan of the New Jerusalem as described in verses 12-14. Write the names of twelve tribes of Israel on the gates and the names of the twelves apostles on the foundation stones.

2. Color the floor plan of New Jerusalem in the appropriate colors.
