Anybody out there?

I haven't heard from many of my HSB friends since I moved my blog ~ I want to continue hearing from all of you! Please come visit our family blog at Under the Monkey Bars! I am slowly but surely transferring posts over there and I am considering keeping this one as a "homeschool showcase" sort of blog ~ like an online portfolio ~ which was my original intent in the first place.

I've Had Enough ...

... of these "code names" for my kids. Especially the boys. So I am outing them.

I've thought about it and I really don't think it's *that* big of a deal that I use their first names. I don't use our last name on here or say *exactly* where we live, so I think we're pretty safe. I've already started calling my oldest by his name, Bill. "Tank" is really Dylan, and "Taz" is really Jesse. "Sweetcheeks" is Emily and "Littlebit" is Sarah.

It was getting to the point where I would (almost) call them their code name in person but then type in their real name on here.

So I think it's best if I just stick to one name for each child.

My boys each have blogs, too. Bill has a website, which has links to his blog, tumblr, etc. Dylan has a blog here at HSB but I erased all entries and he is going to start from scratch. Same with Jesse, but he's already started writing on his.

I take that back, apparently Dylan's blog has been deleted. I'll have to get that set up again.

Unplanned Bloggy Hiatus

My computer crashed! Total hard drive failure. Right now I am on my oldest son's computer in the dark lair he calls his bedroom. He is very over-protective of his precious computer. And his room reeks of hamster. So I probably won't be on here much for a while and probably won't be checking my email as much. That means if you need to contact me, it would be best to call on the phone.

And now I leave you with this hilarious good-night song (hat tip to Becca) ...

About the Children's Names ...

One of the reasons I wiped out my old blog and started fresh with this one was that I wanted to do more to protect our privacy. I have changed my children's names on this blog, which I will explain below, and I am also using the safe code ...

1b14 simply means 1st child, boy, 14 years old ... etc.

Dandelion Seeds explains it on her blog.

1b14 is now "Boss" simply because he is the oldest and is frequently put in charge of the others, while I run errands or just need a break.

2b11 is "Tank" because not only is he built like one, he also loves all things related to the military.

3b6 is "Taz" like the cartoon character from the old Bugs Bunny cartoons ... not only is he a whirlwind of energy, he's also hard to understand.

4g4 is "Sweet Cheeks" because that's what her daddy calls her. She has cute, chubby cheeks.

5g1 is "Little Bit" because that's what her daddy calls her, too. She is quite petite, just like her mama.
