When I was in high school my mom got me in the habit of reading the "Proverb of the day". (Whatever the date is, that's the Proverb you read.) I've done this for years now, and still I find something new that hits me one month, even though it may not have a previous month.
Todays Proverb hit me so hard I haven't been able to let go of it all day. I didn't even need to read past the first verse.
"One who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment." (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Sometimes Scripture just has a way of punching you in the gut to make you realize how foolish you've been. As you can see from just a couple of posts ago I love to isolate myself. I love to be at home with my family. However, I am learning day by day that not only can I be blessed, but I (and my family) can be a blessing.
And I certainly don't want to be a selfish rebel! |
