Armed Forces Day Festival
Join Fort Lewis as we honor the military at the 21st Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration on May 16 at Watkins Parade Field from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. rain or shine. Admission is free. Don’t miss this great opportunity for surrounding communities to come see what we do! Enjoy a variety of entertainment for people of all ages including a Military K-9 demonstration, 2 parachute jumps, military vehicle and equipment displays, battle reenactments, giant inflatable games and rides, a new car show, the Northwest Military Star competition and a performance by the 56th Army Band. Volksmarch registration will take place in front of Jensen Gym from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All walkers must be off the course by 4 p.m.
There’s also a 5K Mud Run http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://www.lewis.army.mil%2Fdpca%2Fsports%2F5K%2520Mud%2520Run%2520Registration.asp that starts at 9 a.m. at Soldiers Field House. The fun is open to both the military and civilian communities. Those without valid DoD ID cards and vehicle decals must access Fort Lewis via Exit 119. You may be asked for driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration. All persons and items are subject to inspection.
