Over 20 of our very talented and dedicated youth=2 0have spent part of their summer working on learning lines, blocking, costuming, creating sets and staging this magical play for your enjoyment.. We hope you will come out to encourage and support this fine group of young thespians.
Royalty, star crossed lovers, woodland fairies, a talking wall, a queen falling in love with a donkey, and even a play with in the play make this one of the favorite and most performed of the bards comedic works. By the end of the play three couples will be wed, but parental objection, deception, magic and even being lost in the wood can not stop true love from being eternally knit.

From Deann- In an attempt to compromise with families who had asked if they could have wine with their picnic dinners and those who do not drink, it was thought that those who brought alcohol could partake of their spirits in an enclosed area at the garden space. This area is 100+ feet from the dance area and 100+ yards from the play. Space was considered acceptable as is in an area that is completely separate from dance, in a area with wrought iron fence with distinct and separate entrances.
Alcohol was not to have been provided or served by EDUCATS. Was not to be sold -either by bottle or glass. There was not to have been a punch bowl or “bar” that was to have alcohol. Was a space designated for adults to use at their discretion with items they brought themselves.
Because of the following bruhaha... areas of concern and liability issues, I did not pursue applying for or secure the liquor license . The owner of establishment had offered the upper space and made mention of liquor permit - is something that is legal to do at the space. But after extensive emails and conversations was decided to have this be a dry event- please do not bring alcohol to event or you will have to put it back in your car.
ED UCATS homeschool group had no position promoting or restricting alcohol, it was assumed all parties would act responsibly and had agreed that any one discrediting or disrupting group could be asked to leave.
4-H strongly prohibits alcohol-
I am sorry for any confusion. EDUCATS is 4-H affiliated, but 4-H membership not a requirement for membership in EDUCATS. Not all EDUCATS events are 4-H. Of the 100+ families who are in EDUCATS approximately 25 families are in 4-H. The play that was conceived in April was originally to be 4-H, but as we have at least 5 families who did not sign 4-H paperwork and there was only one trained 4-H leader staying on site with 20 + students, was decided that play would not be 4-H, as was not following 4-H guidelines.
I apologize for any confusion regarding the group and it's 4-H affiliation.
Would like to stress this is a Friends of EDUCATS production and not 4-H sponsored.
