Youth Legislature and Mock Trial Advisors, Seattle, WA

Youth Legislature and Mock Trial Advisors,

YMCA Youth & Government students are invited to help train REAL attorneys!  Please forward this information along to your students.  It would be an amazing opportunity for them to see a courtroom from the jury box.

Participate in real courtroom drama and assist in the professional growth of new lawyers

Volunteer jurors and witnesses are wanted for a November 21st mock trial at the Seattle Justice Center.  You will view full courtroom proceedings under a Washington judge – and render a verdict in the case.

The program starts at 8:00am and may run as late as 4:00pm.  Snacks are provided, but please bring a lunch or plan to eat out near the courthouse.  The Seattle Justice Center (Municipal Courthouse) is located at 600 5th Ave.

To register to volunteer: http://tinyurl.com/yz3dvvn
For more information on the program: http://www.wsba.org/lawyers/groups/wyld/default.htm#TAP

The Washington State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division hosts this annual Trial Advocacy Program to give expert instruction and real life experience to lawyers seeking to build trial skills.  22 teams of new and young lawyers will argue civil and criminal cases.

YMCA Youth & Government 2009-2010, Washington State based out of Olympia, WA

YMCA Youth & Government is gearing up for the 2009-2010 program year and I would like to invite you to participate in the Youth Legislature or Mock Trial programs this year!  YMCA Youth & Government programs are outstanding ways for students in grades 8-12 to learn about civics by actually participating in the processes of state government.

Attached are registration forms for our fall trainings.  If you have questions or would like additional information about Youth & Government programs please feel free to contact our office at 360.357.3475 or youthandgovpdir@qwestoffice.net or visit us online at www.youthandgovernment.org.  You should also be receiving a packet of information so keep your eyes on your mail box!

I look forward to partnering with you to ensure that the students of Washington State receive high quality civic education.
