Celebrate His Birth, A Nativity Ballet, Tacoma, WA
M E T R O P O L I T A N B A L L E T O F T A C O M A
5435 SOUTH TACOMA WAY TACOMA, WA 98409
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR DAMARIS CAUGHLAN
November 10, 2009
Greetings!
Please join us in inviting others to our free Nativity Ballet,
Celebrate His Birth, choreographed to tell of the Savior’s
birth. There will be three performances at Curtis High
School Theatre, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. and
8:00 p.m., and December 6th at 2:00 p.m.
MBT will gratefully accept good will donations for
theatre costs at the performances, but our true intention
s to gift others with this special performance. My hope
and desire is to not only have family and friends come
to see our dancers, but to use this ballet to reach out
to the community and touch those that do not
know the Lord.
Tickets are available now. We ask that you come to the
studio to get your tickets. If you have a large group of 20
or more, MBT will mail them to you.
My hopes for this year’s production of Celebrate His Birth
John 3:30 says, "He must increase, I must decrease."
This is a passage in the Bible where John the Baptist
was speaking of himself decreasing and Jesus increasing.
Disciples of John the Baptist were going over to Jesus and
they were jealous. John the Baptist knew his position and
that it was to be a light pointing to Christ.
Have you ever lost focus of what you were doing, or been
so focused on something else that your true aim gets lost?
My aim for Celebrate His Birth is that it is a ballet that brings
glory to God, and is done so with grace and humility.
Everyday, I should be remembering that I need God to
get me and MBT there. My hope is that this Nativity Ballet
helps others come to know God and hear of the Good News.
Please pray: that I and MBT are like a candle decreasing as
God's light increases, that my aim and focus stay true, and
that God will use the ballet in a powerful way.
Please pass this letter on to friends, family and church!
Sincerely,
Damaris Caughlan

Schubert, The Man Behind the Music, Part 2, Olympia, WA Area
|
Dear Friends,
I am delighted to invite you to join me for an evening with Franz Schubert as I present Schubert, The Man Behind the Music, Part 2.
On Thursday, September 17th and Saturday, September 19th, I will be playing another set of his well-loved Impromptus, Waltzes
and the great A major Piano Sonata. Once again, we will journey back to the time of Schubert through recollections of his friends
and colleagues, as well as Schubert himself. I have attached a pdf of the invitation and the specifics.
I want to thank many of you for the wonderful emails and letters that I received after the last concert letting me know how much you enjoyed
the evening. I promise this will be another opportunity to step away from our day-to-day world and its challenges and be transported to a time
when music, friendship and gaiety flourished in the parlors of Vienna.
It will be a great evening and I do hope to see you there. If you have enjoyed my other concerts, feel free to share this email with your friends.
Thank you and see you soon.
Warmly,
Wolfgang Wortberg

The intimate moving performance was one that
we will never forget. Mr. Wortberg brought
the composer to life through spoken narrative
that revealed his in-depth knowledge about
the composer. The performance enveloped the
audience with his passion for the music and
his profound technical mastery.
Music lovers should not miss his next recital.

Inspirational and Encouraging Art by a Homeschool Dad in the United Kingdom
STEPPING STONES by Billy
The art is a set of work featuring my three children titled 'Stepping Stones' based on scriptures as limited Edition prints of 1000 signed and numbered. The education scene is 'Your Education is Your Life - Guard it Well' (image attached) which you as a Homeschooler (like us too) endeavor to do, a music scene based on Psalm 100 v1, a gardening and work scene. The art has been compared to Norman Rockwell which is a high honor for me. You can view the paintings and their details via this link
I have produced this work to be vibrant, contemporary and inspiring Christian Art that would grace any home, school room or office. I work in oils on canvas and my detail sections I average 1 square inch per hour. On the Education 'Stepping Stones' painting the desk our boys are sitting at was an 8 hour day of work.
"Beautiful precision work. Brought Norman Rockwell to my mind"
Quote from artist Billy's Kensington, London one man art show.
"Brilliant, Inspiring and Fun!"
Rob Parsons, Executive Director Care for the Family

Cantate Home School Choir January Special 2009
Hello Friends,
Please forward this email on to any homeschool families that might appreciate this information.
Here are some great reasons to join the Cantate Home School Choir in 2009:
- We are now a "drop-off" program! Feel free to drop off your singers at our Friday rehearsals from 12:55 - 1:30 at Northwest Church in Federal Way. Enjoy a coffee and some quiet time at Starbucks or run errands. This has been a big hit this past fall! Parents are always welcome to observe rehearsals.
- The Singing Family is our winter/spring theme. We will be studying J.S. Bach's family life and the music they made together and sharing these ideas with our own families.
- Try it out for the month of January, FREE! Please, feel free to come and join us for one month, free. Call Carrie Jo Mangle at 253-942-4354 to arrange to take advantage of this offer and for regular tuition rates.
- More excellent performances in the community. Check out our schedule on the Cantate website at: http://cantatechoir.com/Schedule.html Last year additional performance opportunities included the Tacoma Rainiers and the Puyallup Fair. We are always looking for new performance venues that will help the children improve their musicianship.
Have a wonderful Christmas as we celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world!
