Ready for the details, here they are:

Just  post a comment about your morning devotion that you had this morning!  That is it!

I will put a number in a hat and let Sarah draw the winning number out!

Your number will be the order of comments made!  If you know of any other HSers that are not on the member site yet, let them know about it and maybe they can join, and win the prize.

My devotions had me in Rev. 3 and was convicted that the verse about Christ knocking on the door of our heart was addressed to believers- even though we use it as a salvation verse. The conviction in my heart was this how often does Yeshua knock on the door of my busy life only to find me pre-occupied with other things and not willing to invite Him in to sup with me? Hmmm

The bible study I have been doing each day this past week has been a study of the book of Titus. Particularly centered around the Titus II woman. What our responsibilities are to foster our knowledge to those women younger than we, and how we can learn from women older than us. It's hard for me to think of myself as an older woman, in actuality, I am older than a lot of women still raising young ones. This study has been a blessing to me, and I am sure to others. I highly recommend studying the book of Titus.

My DH and I read the passage in Matt 25:31-40, where Jesus says whatwe do for His brothers, we do for Him. It was a chalenge to think about how often we look the other way when we see a problem, or look for someone else to fill the need we see, instead of doing something about it ourselves. I think we as Christians sometimes become too self absorbed, and forget about the needs around us.

My devotions centered around God's provision. "Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me." (Micah 7:7) With rising gas prices and the need for curriculum for the coming year, we are clinging to His provision!

I am doing a First Place Bible study. I usually do my bible reading in the evening. This morning I just spent some time in prayer, as we had an early appointment.

I recently started getting the publication, Magnificat, which has not ony the scripture for they day, but also morning prayers, evening prayers, a devotion and Saint of the day. I really enjoy reading about the Saints as the ones chose are usually not well known, but lived lives rooted in faith. I did not get to the morning prayers this morning, but will be doing my evening prayers as soon as my younger boys are in bed.

I am studying the Exodus and the Tabernacle. Today's devotion was regarding the choosing of the priests and the set-up of the Tabernacle. I am personally amazed that they had to move the entire unit as they moved through the desert and what a project it must have been.

I usually do my devotions in the evening. I am going to change that though because I know if I start my morning off in prayer and devotion then my day will go much more smoothly. I've been reading Jeannie's journal on connecting with God. She is working on a devotional book and I can't wait.

Jul. 9, 2008 - Morning Devotion

I reread a sermon our pastor recently gave about meeting the Holy Spirit at church where he has promised to be. I also reread Phillipians 4. I have been talking to my children a lot about thinking only on the noble, good, etc instead of dwelling on sad or difficult things. And finally I read parts of the Screwtape Letters from the week I missed church. Our Sunday School is studying this book. It is a wonderful reminder about how subtle the devil can be.

I read Hebrews 12: 13 this morning, and it really blessed me. If I walk a straight path, I am encouraging others to carry on, and that goes for homeschooling, being a wife, mother, friend, in my spiritual walk, and everything else. I don't have to walk perfectly, just uprightly.

As I am trying to get my early teen son closer to God again in a house where we, quite honestly, dont always make it to church, our devotions this full past week have been focused on "The Godly Man". How the Bible calls young men to step forth and act according to faith, how they can stand up for what is right, how they can lead their peers by example, how they can start living their life for God's purpose and find their calling, etc. We have been reading and discussing a lot I think there will be LOTS more where this came from, but it;s a great start for him, and I am glad he is chosing to live a purpose driven life.
