Finally--an update!! Some miscellaneous pictures
These first pictures are from earlier in April when we had snow (ugh!). The boys went outside and got some of the awful, cold white stuff for the girls and Ethan. They had a good time eating it in the family room!

Now, here are some more pictures from Easter--I know they are a month late :-P

Sweet Tom!!

Now, for all you Ethan fans...here are a bunch of pictures of the cutie :)

Two more pictures to end things for now--I need to get dinner ready!! Grandma and Grandpa Weadock came to visit at the end of April and brought these sweatshirts for the girls. They brought neat shirts for the boys, too. I'll take a picture later (when they all have them on together--all 5 of them!).

OH NOOOOOOOO!!!!
We now have a teenager in the house!!!!!!!!!!! Oh no :) Our teenager was born May 2, 1996 at 4:15pm after 13 long, awful hours of labor. He weighed 8 lbs, 13 ozs and was 21 1/2 inches long. Today, he's much heavier and much taller (he should easily pass me this year). Here are some random pictures of him. No, they are not in order. No, I don't have one from each year. I'm still in the process of organizing all my pictures. We didn't even have a digital camera when this guy was born. So, since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 11 thousand of them :)
Here he is in Dec 2001 (5 1/2).

Here he is in January 2002.

Here he is in March 2002 (almost 6).

I'm guessing on the date here (I have it written down somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go look for it!). I think he's about 2 1/2 here (Ethan wears that same outfit now and it fits pretty well--it looks a bit small on him.) He's directing songs, by the way :)

This is in our old apartment--he's probably almost 1 1/2.

He fell asleep in the van and Tom put him on the clean laundry basket!! He's 1 1/2.

AWW!! This is Christmas 1997 (1 1/2)

Trying to copy little brother! Again, he's 1 1/2 here.

Here he's 2 1/2.

This is in our backyard. He's about 2 1/2 here. Love those cheeks :)

Happy 13th Birthday, NATHAN!!!!! We love you

Health Center Field Trip
We went on a field trip with our Friday School group this past Thursday (!)--the Health Center is only open on Thursdays :) Anyway, we drove to Canton and spent about 2-2 1/2 hours there. A lot of it was interesting, but I couldn't read everything--too busy counting kids and chasing Ethan :) Thankfully, it was a pretty small room so, really, Ethan could just kinda walk around and explore on his own. However, I'm still a paranoid parent and get nervous when I don't see my kids for a few minutes (when we're out--at home is a different story!). Rebekah M. helped a lot with Ethan, too. Ethan loved driving the car (turning a steering wheel) and climbing the ear to slide down the tongue! the girls seemed to enjoy themselves--a lot of the stuff was fun for them. The boys liked it, but the excitement wore off more quickly for them. I'm glad we went--it was interesting. Anyway, here are a lot of pictures from the outing. If they get too boring, hit 'stop'!!!!!!

The kids had a fun, albeit very quick, time playing in the hail this past week. It hailed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Poor Ethan was stuck inside with Mom! He watched and wondered what was going on :)

Easter pictures
Here are a couple of pictures I took of the kids at my parents' house last week. I do have some of them hunting for eggs, but they're not ready for the blog yet. These turned out pretty cute, though.

Feet washing
We talked about Easter week during Bible time. Tom explained the different things that went on, etc. After we finished eating dinner one night (during which we watched a quick video about Easter), the girls went out to the family room. The rest of us were cleaning up and not really paying any attention to what they were doing. I finally stopped to look when I saw a bowl of water and a towel going into the family room (not allowed!!). Here is what I saw:
Rachel washing Sarah's feet (I think this was Rachel's idea in the first place!!)

Sarah washing Rachel's feet!

Both girls washing Ethan's feet!!

I didn't take any pictures, but they did clean up after they were done--lots of water on the floor. It was so cute. I did take a video of it, but I can't put videos on here. Maybe I'll put it on FB when I get a chance.

Friday School Fun?!
Last week, it was my turn (I was volunteered!) to teach the 4-7 year-old class for Friday School. The first thing we did was to paint Spring Eggs! Here are some pictures of the kids making a mes...I mean, painting :)
Which kids are mine?? The 3 cute ones, of course!! Sarah is the girl in blue, Rachel is right next to her (to the right in the picture), and Andrew is the boy in blue with his back to the picture.

We put paint on bubble wrap and corrugated cardboard and then rolled the eggs through it. Neat effects!!

After we finished cleaning up, we attempted to make Easter lilies. We traced our hands on white cardstock, used green straws for stems, green cardstock for leaves, and yellow chenille stems for the yellow thing in the flower--stamen, I believe. I didn't get any pictures, but they turned out fine. We were running short on time, so I didn't really have time to explain the project to the kids. Oh well, I'm done and I think they had fun :)

A long overdue update
I know it's been awhile since I've updated, so here goes... I have a bunch of assorted pictures. Not much has been going on--no town fires, no desire to talk about the weather, nothing like that (!) (Yes, you know who you are ) Thankfully, we've all been healthy--we are VERY thankful for that. I guess I'll just jump to the pictures since I don't have much to ramble on about!!!
Princesses
A few nights ago, Ethan decided he wanted to help me make dinner--yippee !! He was 'helping' to snap the asparagus. He actually ended up eating some of it raw (yuck--it's bad enough cooked, but raw...). I'm starting to like it; I can tolerate it, but it's still not my favorite :)
Ethan making dinner
I have some more pictures to come--the kids just got done studying pirates with dad. I have some cute/interesting pictures from that. Also, as always, there are more of Ethan. However, it's getting to be dinner time and my helper is asleep :)

A very important birthday!
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!! This is Tom's last year of being in his 30's I can't believe how old he's getting to be! Time sure does fly when you're having fun. Tom and I met when we were in 11th grade. He had just turned 16 and I was turning 16. So, since I majored in math in college, I was able to figure this out. Tom and I have known each other for almost 23 years. That's incredible. I don't even feel like I'm 23 years old!!! (Thank you, Mary Burtt, if you're reading this, for almost believing that I'm turning 29!! I'll keep you as a friend!) I don't even have any pictures of Tom for this post. I'm sure he won't be sad about that. Anyway, thanks to all those at church who thoroughly embarrassed him tonight. I think deep down he actually enjoyed it
Happy Birthday, Tom!! I love you

Tennis, anyone?!?
My dad came down last week and we were able to take the kids to Buhr Park (appropriate name for pretty much anything in Michigan!) to play tennis. The kids all got tennis rackets for Christmas and have been looking forward to playing. None of them have ever played tennis before, except on the Wii!! I was wondering how it would go. They actually did quite well for their first time. Even Rachel got the swing of it (get it? swing of it!!!! I crack myself up sometimes ) We played for quite awhile--there was also a swingset area for the girls when they got bored! Here are some pictures from that day--in a slideshow. Notice how cute Ethan is with a tennis racket (and even without one!). He borrowed one of his sisters' rackets. I haven't played tennis in sooo long. I really can't remember the last time--maybe before we had kids. I used to play tennis a lot--from the time I could walk (maybe that's stretching it a bit). I played on the HS tennis team, too. And, Tom and I used to play tennis on our dates (if my memory serves serves!! me right, I used to win every time!). Ok, ok, enough blathering, here are the pictures:
Tennis Lessons!!
So, the other day, Rachel had this brilliant idea--let's dump out the Lego box and then play with them. Here's the result of that wonderful thought!

It took a long time for them to pick up all those small (Oh, I hate to step on them) pieces!!
Hope that's enough pictures for a little while :)

Spring!!! Well, for a few days anyway :)
We actually were able to go outside today and not freeze :) Here are a few pictures of 3 of the kids--I really need to get some of the older boys. They usually go down to the school park and play. Maybe someday I'll follow them down there and take a bunch of pictures :) Anyway, it was beautiful today and we enjoyed the sun!! Tomorrow's supposed to be warmer, then, in Michigan fashion, the temps are supposed to drop again :( Oh well, we'll enjoy it while we can and do extra school work when it's cold
Just a cute picture of a cute Sarah!!

For the record--I did NOT dress her! She chose her own clothes, escaped outside before I saw her, and got muddy. At that point, I just let her play. No sense in changing into clean, MATCHING clothes when she's just going to get muddy again! She's our 'interesting, colorful' child :) (Yes, she has 2 different striped shirts on with a flower skirt!!)

Somebody's on a mission!! Look at that face :) I never did find out the story, but I'm sure it was a good one! What a little cutie!!

Enjoy the next few days of warm weather!
Here are a few pictures of our resident monkey! He saw me put the dry erase markers on the top of the toy box and was so determined to get them. He actually succeeded later in the day in getting the marker and writing in our Latin book Thankfully, we caught him before he could do any serious damage--yes, the kids are sooo happy that we can continue on with Latin as normal :)
climbing

feeling for the marker

pretending to do other things so mom doesn't think he's still interested in the marker

Aha!! Victory!! tasting the marker lid

Since mom ruined all the fun and took away the marker, he might as well get down. What a cutie!!

Nothing much
I really don't have anything to write about, but it's been a couple of days and I thought I should at least let people know that we're still alive. Today was a beautiful day--almost 70 degrees!! It was muddy, but warm :) I took the girls to JoAnn Fabrics this morning to get material for their princess dresses (a belated birthday present)! No, I need to get busy sewing them. Tom was busy all day doing odd jobs that needed to get done. He finished touching up the paint in the upstairs boys' room, he painted a door from the downstairs boys' room, he painted something else down there, too, he cleaned the bathtub(!!!!--I hate that job) (He did it because he turned it blue from washing out paint brushes.), and he made a wonderfully delicious dinner. It was Indian pork. WOW!! (I was able to get some more trim painted and a little bit of yard work done.)
Other than that, nothing too exciting going on here. I'm putting a video of Ethan on my facebook thing (wall, I guess it's called). He loves being outside--hard to get him to come in. It's going to be a fun summer if he cries and screams every time I bring him inside.
Don't forget to set your clock ahead tomorrow night (or, Sunday morning--whatever!). I would really like to forget about it, or better yet, set my clock back an hour or two or three!!

Another Birthday--RACHEL
Happy Birthday to our little girl!! Rachel Faith is 4 years old today. She is so excited to have a birthday. She has been asking us for a week to tell her when Monday is so she'll know it's her birthday. I kept saying that I wasn't going to tell her--then she wouldn't have a birthday and she wouldn't turn 4!! That seems so old and she's still my little baby :) Anyway, I guess she's 4 now (I'll get used to it eventually--probably by the time she turns 5).
Here's a slideshow of some pictures from when Sarah and Rachel were little (newborn and 2).

Here's cute Rachel! (She's 7 months old in these pictures.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARAH
Today is Sarah Faith's 6th birthday!! I really can't believe that she's that old already. I keep trying to tell her that she's only 5, but she's not fooled. Worse yet, Rachel turns 4 in just 6 days~~ugh!
Well, here's a picture of the sweet little, er, big girl :)
This is Daniel and Sarah (how sweet!) when Sarah is 5 months old. My sweet Tom just got me a new laptop and I don't have all my pictures on it yet. So, I'll try to dig up some more old ones and get them on here as soon as I can. It took me a long time to just find this one. I need to go finish sewing something for her birthday and make dinner--so I'll write more later.
Happy Birthday, Sarah, we love you!!!!!!!!!!

Homeschool Freebies
This is just a quick (maybe boring to some--yes, Tom, I mean you!!) note. Every Monday I get an email with a list of freebies for homeschoolers. Some of them are useful, others are not. There are quite a few e-books. Anyway, this week the guy in charge of this asked us to post the link to his website on our blogs. So, here it is!

Hopefully that wasn't too boring--it was short, at least :)

2nd annual Valentine's Day picture and more of Ethan
If I remember correctly, my first blog entry had a picture of the kids with their heads in a circle on Valentine's Day 2008. (I know, I check the archives and make sure, but I don't feel like doing that!) Anyway, we took another picture this year. We took some on the 14th, but we didn't get one that looked decent of all the kids. Some were OK, but I wanted to try again. So, after church on the 15th, we took some more. Here's the picture for this year.

The other day, Ethan got into the cupboards (not unusual ) and got into one of my pots. He was so proud of himself.

Ethan + toybox = funny pictures
I found this toy box on craigslist the other day and met with the lady this afternoon. After we brought it in and wiped it down, I started to put the toys in it. I turned my back for a minute and this is what I found :)

Ethan has been such a happy guy (for the most part) since his fever broke and his tooth popped. It's so nice to have a happy, silly, funny boy running around the house!! Now, if we could only get him to stop screaming that high-pitched, on-your-nerves scream of his :-)

It's a............??
GIRL!!!!
Congratulations Tim and Rhianon!! We are so happy for you :)
Tim has pictures posted on facebook. Here's the best I can do. She's very cute with lots of hair!! Her name is Rowan Jade :)
Rachel's turn this time. Yesterday during my Bible time with the kids, I was reading them the verses they are supposed to be memorizing. (They're doing well, by the way.) Anyway, I came to the verse that says, "Jesus wept." For some reason, I decided to stop and ask them (the little ones, esp) what that meant. We don't use the word 'wept' and I wanted to make sure they understood. Rachel said something like "with a broom". I had to think for a second, but then realized that she thought the verse said, "Jesus swept"!!!!! It was very cute :) I try to make sure the kids understand what they are memorizing so it's not just a bunch of words--this makes me want to explain more and more often!!
On a different note--for those of you haven't gotten a phone call or an email, please pray for Rhianon (yes, and Tim, too!). She went to the hospital around 1:30, 2:00am Friday morning to have this baby. However, at about 2:00pm Friday afternoon, things were not progressing very quickly. She was finally able to all asleep, but please pray for labor to be productive. They would prefer not to have to have a c-section. Pray for Rhianon, too--that's so hard and discouraging. Thanks!

John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Ephesians 2:8,9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
There is only ONE way to have your sins forgiven and only ONE way to be sure of heaven when you die.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
