I haven't blogged in a while. I have been caught up in the chaos around me again.
Many of you know that my husband is in the hospital awaiting gall bladder surgery, and I just have not had the motivation to post anything here.
Raymond has had a cardiac perfusion scan over the course of 2 days. This test will be looking at his heart to see if he has sustained any damage from his heart disease. I hope not, but sometimes an inflamed gallbladder can result from heart damage or failure- this is especially true of a case without gallstones.
This is called acalculous cholecystitis, and can be much more serious than just having gallstones (gallstones are still horrible and the pain is the same, but having an inflamed gallbladder without stones can indicate something else is going on.)
Let me explain these hundred dollar words:)
chole- means gall or cholesterol
cyst -means a bladder or fluid filled sack
itis- means an inflamation of
a- means no, not or having none
calculous- means stones or calcium
cardiac always refers to the heart.
He has been in there since early Monday morning, and I am still tryng to catch up on my sleep.
They are hoping that surgery will take place tomorrow morning, and if all goes well, he may be out Wednesday or Thursday.
The boys have been fighting a lot and today I woke up with a HUGE headache, and feeling somwehat like I have a cold. I was hoping to take a day to rest... seems like when I want to take a resting day, I wake up in pain quite often.
