Sunday, February 22, 2009 - Renaissance and Reformation
|
Well, we have ended our studies of the Middle Ages, and are moving on to the period of reform in the Church and re-awakening of the arts.
Yes, we are still using the AWOA curriculum, and I still love it, although, to tell you the truth I am finding that one main drawback to it is the recipes. They are fun to cook, but with everything we have gone through, sometimes i don;t have the funds to go out and buy fancy ingredients, and my kids are picky eaters, so I have begun to skip a lot of cooking.
We are reading a Biography of Isaac Newton, and have had some nice discussions about his life so far.
He was a premie, not even expected to live, but he did. His childhood was full of wonderful learning adventures that I hope my children will imitate. He was a devout believer in God and learned the Bible and prayer from a very early age.
We only have 60 days left of our curriculum for this year!
I will post more about what we learn as we go on
