I just received this email from a reporter who is looking for:
* people in their 20s who were homeschooled as children * people in their 20s who homeschool their children * people in their 20s who went to college who are homeschooling * people who were homeschooled who are now homeschooling their children.
Please go ahead and repond directly to the reporter. His name is Neil Bartlett and his email address is: neilbartlett@mhtc.net
More information about him and his article is below.
------------------------------------------ Hi, Rebecca. My name's Neil Bartlett.
I'm a freelance journalist and also have been HSing our two boys, with my wife, for about 12 years now.
I'm interested in interviewing some HSers who are in their early or mid 20's, perhaps who've graduated from college, for an article on the 'next generation of homeschoolers.' Some of my questions are:
-- What about these kids' lives is different from regularly schooled kids?
-- What aspects are the same?
-- Do they perceive their HSing experience as having been a positive or negative one? In what ways?
-- Are there any trends that you're aware of with these folks? For example, a lot of them have started their own businesses, are going into politics, etc?
-- What does a graduate think of the common criticisms of homeschooling?
-- Are they planning to HS their kids? Are there any who've actually started doing so?
I know that each HSer is different...but do you have any thoughts, observations and/or suggestions for me? Other folks I should contact?
if you have time to respond via email, I'd be in your debt.
