{Course Descriptions}
{Art}Instruction in drawing, painting and creativity focuses on the wonder of God’s creation and on people as artists made in God’s image. Students learn age-appropriate techniques of several mediums such as paint, pencils and oil pastels. Most art supplies such as paint, brushes, clay, etc. are provided. The sylabis includes a list of what to bring each day of class. {Gym}Children learn the fine arts of sportsmanship and teamwork as they play competitive and non-competitive games, team sports, and spend time conditioning. We participate in the Presidential Physical Fitness and Active Lifestyle testing. Comfortable clothing and gym shoes with non-marking soles are necessary for class. {Writing, Speech and Drama} This class will focus on providing individual and group writing, speech and drama projects that might be difficult to offer in a home environment. Basic concepts taught at home will be supplemented and enriched by using fun and innovative application in assignments. Occasional homework will be given to the older students.
{Intensive Writing} This specialized class is designed to prepare students for the intensive writing required in high school and college. The class will focus on the forms, content and structure and application of writing itself. The class will require several hours of outside work each week which will include many short writing assignments as well as an occasional long term project. This class meets EACH week. (Grammar and spelling instruction will not be a part of this class. Work should be edited at home.)
{Intensive Art, Speech, Gym and Inductive Bible Study}These subjects will be offered as rotating classes throughout the year and will represent the second half of each morning. Students will have the opportunity to work with more advanced art projects, learn and practice various speech forms, be exposed to new sports than in previous years and learn techniques which will help them study the Bible themselves. Teachers will vary and be carefully chosen by their expertise.
