I’m Scott Thompson, the admissions officer for the “Flying Badgers” at
Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Edgewood College, UW-Madison, and
UW-Whitewater. Now is the time for students in “senior” status to apply
for Air Force ROTC scholarships. Air Force ROTC has a great High-School
Scholarship Program (HSSP). These scholarships can pay full tuition,
$900/year for books, as well as a $300 to $500 (rises from freshman to
senior) monthly tax-free stipend. Upon college graduation, the student
is commissioned an Air Force Officer in one of many career fields.
It is my goal to get our scholarship opportunities to all qualified
students. And that is where I need your help. There are too many high
school seniors (especially home schooled seniors) who have never heard
of the Air Force ROTC HSSP as a means to fund college expenses. As you
know, home schooled students tend to rate very high academically as
compared to the public schools and can be very competitive for these
scholarships. If you’re interested in applying please visit

1^st application deadline* each year. I should note that a student need
not be on scholarship to enroll in the ROTC program and be commissioned
into the Air Force.
