Dear homeschool families,
Salt & Light speech and debate club would like to invite you to an economics/free market seminar to be held in Oak Creek, WI (located a few miles to the south of the Milwaukee airport) on Fri. Oct. 9th from 1:30-8:00 and Sat. Oct. 10th from 9:00-4:00. This seminar is for students approximately 14 and up who are interested in learning about the free market system and limited government in a learning environment suited to young people. The speakers for this seminar are Greg Rehmke, the author of Economics for Dummies, and Bruce Rottman, economics teacher who used to teach at Brookfield Academy right here in Milwaukee. The Foundation for Economic Education provides these seminars to introduce students across the country to these valuable principles in the midst of this very interesting economic time.
We have attached the link to the Economic Thinking website which has information for homeschool families about how to educate your students in this discipline with valuable ideas and resources for your family including several free DVDs. When you visit that website at www.economicthinking.org or click on the link below you can see the flyer for this seminar as well as click on the online registration. The cost for this event is $20 for the first student and $10 for the second student in your family with a max per family of $30.00. Parents are able to attend free. In addition we will be providing pizza on Friday evening and sub sandwiches as part of the cost of this seminar. The cost of this seminar is largely subsidized by the Foundation for Economic Education who travels to provide students with these educational opportunities.

The only thing we want to mention is that we have limited space for the seminar so are asking you to leave your non-participating children at home if you are able to. We do not have child care available for this event.
