Chapter 19
Finding Rabies
Wolf Woman and Raven sat next to White Wolf’s bed; the only noise in the room was the slow, but steady, beep of the heart monitor.
Finally, Wolf Woman broke the silence, “How did you find us, Raven?”
“I don’t know,” she replied, “I was about a mile away, when I felt this pulling, not physical pulling, but like something telling me that I had to get somewhere fast. I followed the feeling, and it led me to you two.”
“Thank-you, Father,” Wolf Woman silently prayed, “I’m so glad that you followed it, if you hadn’t, White Wolf might be dead right now.”
“Yeah, and I was really relived to see that my powers still work fully.”
“What do you mean?”
Raven looked over at Wolf Woman, “I haven’t talked to him ever since he took over my body. He’s tried to make contact, but I’ve ignored him. I’ve felt freer without him, but I was scared that some of my power might go away. So far it seems that I have it with or without him.”
“That’s good; that you haven’t talked to him, and that you still have your powers!”
“Yeah, but I wonder if it will be enough to save her,” she said looking at White Wolf. A tear formed in her eye, she turned so that Wolf Woman wouldn’t see, “W-what if she dies, Wolf Woman? She’s in pretty bad condition; what if she doesn’t come out of it?”
Wolf Woman sighed and looked away. “She’s prepared to die,” she said.
Raven turned to look at her, “How can you say that? How can you be so insensitive? How can you see this and be okay?” she nearly yelled.
Wolf Woman turned towards Raven, tears streaming down her cheeks, “I never said that I was okay! Do I look okay?” She took a deep breath, and then said, “And I’m not being insensitive. But if she dies, she won’t be the one who’s hurt; and every tear that I shed will be for myself because I miss her. She won’t really be gone forever; she’ll be in the arms of the One who loves her enough to die for her.”
“I don’t see the way you see, Wolf Woman. I can’t see it.” More tears flowed down Raven’s cheeks, but she didn’t try to hide them anymore. “Why would God let this happen?”
“Raven,” Wolf Woman placed her hand over Raven’s, “I won’t pretend to know everything, because I don’t. But God loves her more than we do, more than anyone else ever could. If He takes her home to be with Him then it’s a part of His plan.”
“And how do you know this? How do you know that there is a God, or a heaven?”
“Father, please give me Your words.” “There’s evidence of God all around you. You can’t look at a flower, see a sunrise, or see the complexity of anything alive and not know that God made them.”
“Maybe, but why would He let bad things happen?”
“He didn’t want bad things to happen, and nothing bad happened at first. When God made man he gave them a choice. He gave them one rule, to not eat the fruit of one tree in the Garden of Eden. It was just one rule, but we broke it and then bad things started happening. God is always in control, but He doesn’t make us robots. We still can do bad things, but God has the power to use the bad things that happen for good.”
“Julia, maybe this all works for you, being from Earth and all, but I don‘t see how it can work for me. I’m not from here. You say that your ‘Jesus’ came to Earth and saved you, but that was for Earth, not Azarath, not Krypton, not anything else.”
Julia blinked. She had no answer. I know that God made everything. I know that He loves everyone. But how does this work?
Just then the door opened slightly and Robin stuck his head through the crack, “Can we come in?”
“Of course,” Wolf Woman said. Wolf Woman didn’t hide the fact that she’d been crying, but Raven quickly wiped the tears off her cheeks so that the guys wouldn’t see them.
Robin walked in followed by Grey Wolf, who was on crutches.
“What happened, Grey Wolf?” Wolf Woman asked.
“I got shot in the leg during a fight at the Woodsville museum. But I’m okay now, I’ll just need these crutches for two or three days.” he said, “But what happened to White Wolf?”
“I don’t know. I went to where she’d last been seen and went where God told me to, and then I saw her laying there unconscious and bleeding. Then Raven got there and she closed up the wound and we rushed her to the hospital.”
“God talked to you?” Raven asked.
“Well,” she said, “I asked Him for help to know where she was and then I felt this tugging. I followed it and there she was. My only explanation is that God lead me to her.”
“A tugging?”
“Yes, a lot like what you said you felt, Raven. Maybe God was telling you where to go too.”
Raven looked away, seeing facts that she didn’t want to believe were true. “I wonder what she got shot with,” she said, changing the subject, “It wasn’t a bullet, but what was it then?”
“I don’t know,” Wolf Woman said. “But finding that out might save her.” She stood up, “I’m going to do some investigating and find out. Anyone want to come and help?”
“But shouldn’t someone stay with White Wolf?” Raven asked.
“I will,” Grey Wolf said, “I need to stay here anyways, and I wouldn’t be of much help on crutches.”
“Okay, then I’ll come.” Robin said.
“So will I,” Raven stood up, “Where should we start?”
“At the museum, where else?” Wolf Woman said, “Radio us if anything happens, Grey Wolf.”
“As long as you do the same,” he replied, “I want to know who’s behind this, even if I don’t get to kick his butt yet!”
____________________
“Thanks, Dr. Greene,” Robin said, “You’ve been a lot of help!”
The three Heroes walked out of the Science Lab, “So, White Wolf probably got shot by that fusion beam that they were working on.” Wolf Woman said, “But since it’s so new they probably won’t know what will help her.”
“But just in case, I’ll call Grey Wolf and tell him. Maybe they can do something.” Robin walked away from the girls to radio Grey Wolf.
“Okay,” Raven said, “so the people who stole the fusion beam were dressed in all-black, all-blue, and the leader was dressed in brown with a poison sign on the front.”
“Sounds like Rabies,” Wolf Woman said, “but who were the other two?”
“And how will we find them?”
“I don’t know,” said Robin, who was walking back toward them, “But maybe the Poacher will know. He’s in jail, so we can get to him, and he’s a part of Leo’s team, as is Rabies.”
“Sounds good,” Wolf Woman said.
They started walking to the jail when Robin asked a question, “So Raven, you robbed a few banks in your sleep. So what happened to the money?”
“I honestly don’t know.” She replied, “After finding out that I did it I searched my room and any other place that I could think of that I would hide something in, but I didn’t find it, or anything that would give me a clue!”
____________________
“Why would I want to give you information?” Poacher asked, “What’s in it for me?”
“Well, we can’t set you free, but we can shorten your jail time considerably.” Robin said.
“I’ll be getting out of here soon anyways; Leo and the others will come for me. No deal!”
“Well then how about-” Wolf Woman started to say.
“I’m not ratting on anybody.” Poacher declared.
“How about this?” Raven said, “You tell us what we want, or get the information yanked out of your mind!” Her black energy pulsed around her, making her threat even more menacing.
Wolf Woman and Robin looked at each other, both surprised by Raven’s ferocity. Poacher cringed, “Okay, I’ll tell you! He’s hiding out in the back room of the Gotham City Library.”
Wolf Woman felt that he was wasn't telling the truth and Raven said what she’d been thinking, “Liar!”
Poacher grabbed his head in pain, “Okay, I’ll tell you, just stop!” Once the pain was gone he said, “They’re hiding out in an old cabin in the nearby forest. I don’t know exactly where, I’ve never been there, but he’s there.”
Raven turned and walked away, satisfied with his answer. Robin and Wolf Woman followed her out.
“Wow, Raven,” Wolf Woman said once outside, “You were…”
“Vicious.” Robin finished.
“I know,” she replied, “I just can’t help myself sometimes. I get mad and I can’t hold myself back. That’s one of the reasons that I left.”
“Everyone gets mad,” Wolf Woman reassured her, “We just need to learn to control that anger.”
“Control,” Raven said sadly, “Something that you guys have in abundance, but I don’t.”
“You’d be surprised,” said Robin, “I have control in anything but abundance. Remember when I was obsessed with Slade?”
Raven nodded.
“Well, that all happened before I became a Christian. By myself I still can’t control my anger, but now that I have God with me He helps me to control it, and not let it control me.”
Raven was silent for while, then she changed the subject, “So, let’s go to the forest and find Rabies.” she started walking in the direction of the forest.
Robin and Wolf Woman followed her, both silently praying for Raven. She saw that she needed help, but she walked away from the Source every time.

“Is she dead?” Blue Minion, who had fired the shot, asked.
Rabies stood up from feeling White Wolf’s pulse, “No, but there’s barely any pulse. She’s close to death.” For a split second he wanted to get her to a hospital, but the feeling quickly left. Besides, crush or no, she was an enemy. “Grab the gun; let’s get this back to Luthor.”
____________________
“Well, coward, you just stay there wallowing in your fear,” the Poacher said, “While we help ourselves to the antiques and artifacts!”
No one calls Grey Wolf a coward! He growled quietly behind the display case, I don’t care if there’s a bullet in my leg; these guys are going down! Wolves have four legs, humans have two; I’d better stay as a wolf.
Grey Wolf summoned all of his strength and leaped over the display case with a vicious howl. Mr. Freeze shot at him, but missed. Grey Wolf landed on the Poacher and quickly took the gun in his mouth and wrenched it out of his hands. Then he turned towards Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze aimed at Grey Wolf, but then thought better of shooting, for wolves--especially this one--were tricky and fast. Grey Wolf would probably jump out of the way at the last second, freezing Poacher instead of him.
Grey Wolf sat down, still on top of the struggling Poacher, taunting Mr. Freeze. Come on, shoot at me, I dare ya!
Neither of the two moved, each trying to outlast each other. If I can just keep him here long enough hopefully help will come! Grey Wolf thought. But help had better come soon; this bullet needs to come out!
Mr. Freeze waited a bit more, but he got impatient. Who cares if I freeze Poacher? Once I get that wolf I can unfreeze him anyway. Mr. Freeze twitched ever so slightly, and Grey Wolf saw what was coming.
Mr. Freeze fired, Grey Wolf jumped out of the way, and Poacher screamed but stopped abruptly, encased in ice.
Grey Wolf landed awkwardly on his hurt leg and gave out a quick, snappy bark, which, luckily, Mr. Freeze did not recognize as a painful bark. Grey Wolf ran behind one of the few unbroken display cases. One down, but I’m out of tricks!

Julia sat in her parents’ car in the passenger seat. Her Mom was driving her home from the volleyball game. “You did the right thing, Julia.”
“I know. But I still feel bad; it’s my fault that the team won’t be in the play-offs.” Julia replied.
“No, it’s not your fault, Julia.” Mrs. Wolfe said, “It’s not your fault that those girls were breaking the rules, not to mention the law, by taking those drugs. It was your duty to do what you did, Julia…Wolf Woman.”
Julia looked at her Mom and gave a small smile, hearing her Mom call her that was special. The name Julia was better, and she never wanted Wolf Woman to replace it, but it was nice to know that her parents were behind her in her ‘other life’.
They rode in silence for a while, but then Julia got this strange feeling, almost like what she felt when Raven was in trouble, only it wasn’t Raven, it was…Grey Wolf and White Wolf!
“Mom, pull over, stop the car!”
Mrs. Wolfe did as her daughter asked. “What is it, Julia?”
“My friends need me. Don’t ask me how I know, I just do. I need to go; I’ll see you soon, Mom.” And with that, Julia ran out the door.
Julia grabbed her radio as she ran into an alley, “Robin, I need the whereabouts of White Wolf and Grey Wolf.”
“Grey Wolf is at the Woodsville Museum, and I just got a call from White Wolf, she’s looking for Rabies. She was at the Gotham City Science Lab, but I’m not sure if she’s still there. Why, what’s the matter?”
She took off her outer clothes as she talked, “Robin, please don’t ask questions about how I know, but I know that both of them are in trouble. I can’t get to both of them in time so I need you to go to Grey Wolf, I’ll join you if I can but I need to go to White Wolf first.”
“All right, Wolf Woman.”
“And, Dick.” she called him by his name.
“What, Jules?”
“Be careful.”
“You too. Out.”
Wolf Woman pushed a button on her utility belt as she ran. Soon her Wolf Board flew next to her and she jumped on; she needed all the speed she could get and she couldn’t call her cycle in the same way.
She flew a couple yards over people’s heads as she made her way to Gotham City. Then, after two more minutes, she finally made it to the Science Lab. She looked around and didn’t see anything. “Father, please help me find her. You’ve told me that she needed help, now please help me to find her.”
Wolf Woman waited until she felt something tugging at her to go to her left. She followed this tugging into a nearby alley, where she saw White Wolf laying motionless on the ground with blood trickling from a wound on her chest.
“Oh no!” Wolf Woman ran to her friend. She tore a piece off the bottom of her pant leg and held it over the wound. She felt White Wolf’s pulse; she was still alive, but barely. “God, help me!” she prayed aloud, “I have to hold this here or she’ll bleed to death, but she needs to get to a hospital!”
“Maybe I can help.”
Wolf Woman spun around to see a familiar face, “Raven!”
Raven knelt down beside White Wolf, “Take the cloth off of her wound.”
Wolf Woman did as she was told. Raven looked at the wound, “This wasn’t from a bullet. It was some sort of energy beam, but that makes it all the better for us. Without a bullet in there, I can just close the wound with my powers.” Raven placed her hand over White Wolf’s wound and closed her eyes. After ten seconds, Raven lifted her hand, and then sighed in relief, “It worked. But now we need to get her to a hospital. I can take us all. It will be hard, but we need to get her there quick.”
“All right,” Wolf Woman said, “What do we do?”
“Nothing, just don’t panic.” And with that, Raven’s black energy surrounded the three of them and they were lifted into the air.
They started moving fast. After a while Raven looked like she couldn’t handle it much longer.
Wolf Woman grabbed her hand, “Hold on Raven. We’re almost there!”

Robin parked his cycle next to Grey Wolf’s and rushed into the museum. When he came in he saw Mr. Freeze, who turned to see why the door had opened. After seeing Robin, Mr. Freeze took aim and fired his ice gun. Robin flipped out of the way and ran behind a display case. He made his way around the room, ducking from display case to display case, looking for Grey Wolf.
Mr. Freeze also ran behind display cases, looking for the teens to freeze them. He finally found a wolf hidden behind one, and the wolf’s back was turned to him. The villain aimed his gun and fired, but just before he shot, he was knocked to the ground and his gun harmlessly froze a statue.
Robin hit Mr. Freeze over the head, knocking him out.
The wolf limped over to Robin, “Thanks for the help, but next time try not to cut it so close!”
“I’ll do better,” Robin replied, “Now let’s call the police to get these two in jail and get you to a hospital.”

Chapter 18
White Wolf’s Battle
Meanwhile, White Wolf was on a mission too. There had been a break-in at the Gotham City science lab. She had gotten there too late to stop whatever was happening, but she stayed to try to figure out what the purpose of the break-in had been.
“Have you discovered if anything is missing, Dr. Greene?”
“Yes, I’m afraid so, White Wolf,” the Doctor answered, “You see, we’ve been working on making energy guns for the past few years, fusion beams, to be exact. We’ve just about gotten it to work, but now those robbers have gotten a hold of it. In the wrong hands, if they can finish the work, that technology is very dangerous! They must be found!”
“Can you describe the people you saw taking the guns?”
“Yes, there were three of them. One, who seemed to be the leader, was in a brown suit with a poison sign on the front.”
Rabies, White Wolf thought.
“And the other two,” he continued, “had the exact same outfits as each other, but one was blue and the other was black. Their suits were pants and tank-tops, and they each had a mask that covered the whole top of their heads with two holes for their eyes.”
“Thank-you for your help, Dr. Greene. I’ll try and find those thieves and bring back your stuff for you.” And with that, White Wolf rushed out the door to find Rabies and two other goons.
____________________
Rabies could have been long gone by then, but he wasn’t. He stayed close to the museum to see White Wolf again. Ever since the first time he laid eyes on her he had a crush.
White Wolf walked out the door of the museum, Dang, that girl’s hot! It’s too bad she’s on the wrong side.
Rabies watched as she radioed someone, then she headed in his direction. He ducked farther into the alley with his two helpers.
“What are we still doing here, boss?” the one in blue asked.
“Yeah, we could’ve been miles from here by now,” the one in black complained.
“You know what guys?” Rabies asked, “I’ve been working on this new serum that I invented to use against any Super Friend.” he said casually. Then he turned and grabbed his black dressed companion by his shirt and lifted him up off the ground, “Now, unless you want me to test it on you, you will not question me!” He dropped him and looked at the other guy, “Any Minion who questions me will get that!”
The blue Minion seemed to shrink in size and backed away. Black Minion stayed on the ground, looking up at his leader in fear.
“Hello boys.”
All three spun around to see White Wolf standing in the entry to the alley.
____________________
“You know, if you want to go unnoticed, Rabies, you should start by not talking.”
“What are you gonna do? There’s three of us, and only one of you. I think that that’s a little uneven.”
“You know, you’re right. I’ll wait while you call some of your other friends. Then we can really fight!”
“Yeah, right,” said Blue Minion, “You’re a girl!”
White Wolf, using the springs in her boots for more height, flipped high over the three guys’ heads and landed behind Blue Minion and then she kicked him in the chest, sending him flying a few feet back. “That’s my point!”
Black Minion got up from the ground and charged her. White Wolf waited for the last possible moment and ducked to the left, using her right arm to push him away. Then, as he staggered forward, she turned and pushed him forward hard with her left hand. Black Minion fell flat on his face.
As this was happening, Rabies ran towards her to attack. White Wolf turned in time to see him and she flipped over his head, landing next to Blue Minion, who was attempting to stand. She pushed him over and he crashed into a garbage bin.
Rabies and Black Minion ran at her together. White Wolf jumped, but Rabies grabbed her foot and yanked her to the ground. White Wolf tried to catch herself with her hands, but she landed on only one of her hands, bending it too far back. She cried out in pain and rolled off her hand, clutching her wrist.
Rabies jumped at her, but she rolled out of the way. White Wolf stood up and leaned against a wall, still clutching her hurt wrist. Black Minion ran at her as Rabies got up.
“Wait,” Rabies told Black Minion, “let me.”
Black Minion backed away from White Wolf. Rabies walked towards her. White Wolf tried to scoot along the wall away from him, but he stopped her by putting one of his hands on the wall to her left and the other to her right.
“Why don’t you stick around for a while,” he said with a smile.
White Wolf backed as close to the wall as she could. Rabies brought his face closer to hers. White Wolf resisted, but then smiled with a slight smirk that she hoped Rabies wouldn’t notice. Rabies’ lips were an inch from hers when White Wolf brought up her knee.
Rabies buckled at his middle, and White Wolf started running. She brought out her radio in order to call for help.
“Don’t just stand there gaping,” Rabies yelled at the opened mouthed Minions, “Get her!”
White Wolf was about to call when felt danger behind her and turned. Despite the pain in her wrist, she brought up her arms to use her Wolf Shield as a beam from the fusion gun came towards her. The shield blocked most of it, but some of it hit her in the chest. Even that little bit of fusion energy had enough force to send her to the ground and White Wolf blacked out.

Raven lay out on a hill under the stars. She’d been watching them for a few hours, thinking about what she should do. The easiest answer was to go back to her own world, but she’d gotten so used to Earth she knew it would be hard to leave it. Plus, she had no clue if she’d be accepted if she were to go back. Most of her people were scared of her.
Her powers had developed at a startling pace. She was telekinetic by the time she was seven; she’d reached the highest level of telekinesis when she was fourteen. Most of the people on her world only got to be a level K3 (the highest level of telekinesis was K10), and it took them until they were at least in their twenties.
But as she stared at the stars, Raven became very tired, and soon sleep came. But it wasn’t a quiet sleep, she dreamed.
Raven floated in the middle of a large room, meditating. She heard a noise and opened her eyes; little flames started popping up all around her. Soon they became larger.
Raven looked desperately for a way to get out, but there were no doors and no windows. She was trapped.
Raven panicked as smoke and fire filled the room. But then she saw a Being before her.
He looked human, but shone pure white, even brighter than the Wolf Pack had looked to her before. He was so bright that Raven could not look directly at Him. But she could see Him stretch out His hand to her.
His voice sounded familiar, yet at the same time it was a stranger’s voice. But the voice was gentle and kind. He said, “I’m here to help you, Raven. But I only can if you let me.”
Raven was confused, there was no way in, no way out. Yet this being in front of her told her that He would get her out. But how? “Who are you?”
“You know, Raven.”
Raven sat up straight, breathing hard. A dream, she thought. But it seemed so real. Was it…no. He would want nothing to do with darkness, with me. She shook her head, “It was just a dream.”
But she had it a second time that night.

“All right, girls,” Ms. Watson, the volleyball coach, said. “Today is the day; if we win this game we’re going to the play-offs! Anyi is sick today, so play hard, play tough, and give it your all!”
All of the Wolvesville Predators Volleyball team cheered and went over to the lockers to get ready, while the coach went out to talk to someone from the school newspaper.
“Hey girls,” Lillie, one of the volleyball players, said, “We need to win this game so that we can go to the play-offs, right?”
“Right,” all the other girls nodded their agreement.
“Well, looky what I got my hands on!” Lillie pulled a small container from her locker, “With these, we’re sure to win!”
“Whoa, how’d you get that?” another girl, Mariah, asked.
“I have my sources,” she winked. Everybody knew that her “source” was her boyfriend, who was a junior in high school. “Come on, girls. Let’s whip some butt!”
All but one of the girls stepped forward to accept one of the small pills. Julia held back.
“Girls,” she said, “this is wrong! Do you really think that you need drugs to help you win?”
“Of course, I mean, this is the Woodsville Woodpeckers we’re going up against, and two of them are Superheroes. Even if they can’t use their powers in the game it’ll be really hard to beat them,” Lillie said, “We need all the help we can get, especially since Anyi isn’t here.”
I wish she were; that would make this a whole lot easier. “No girls, it’s wrong.”
None of the others listened, a few of them, including Lillie, had already taken a pill.
“If you don’t stop, I’m going to tell the coach and everybody else!”
“Go ahead,” Lillie taunted, “You know that if we don’t win this game we’ll be done for the season; you also know that if you tell, we’ll be stopped for sure.”
“You don’t have to take them, Julia,” Mariah said, “But don’t get in our way, unless you want to give this whole season away to the Woodsville team!”
Julia thought hard; she wouldn’t take the drugs; that was for sure. But she still had two choices: one, tell the coach and the whole team is out for the rest of the season; or two, don’t tell and probably win the game and go to the play-offs.
Julia prayed silently, “God, this is so hard. I know what I have to do, please give me strength to do it!”
Julia ran out of the room before any of the other girls could stop her. There’s the coach, I have to tell her now!
“Coach!” Julia called, “Ms. Watson!”
“Yes, Julia?”
“Ms. Watson, Lillie and the other girls are taking some sort of drug to help them play better.”
“What?” Ms. Watson turned and ran out to the court giving the time-out signal. A few of the refs came out to see what was wrong. After hearing what she had to say, the refs declared the game canceled.
Hilary and Christina, who were players for the Woodsville team, came over to Julia. “I heard what happened,” Christina said, “That was very brave of you to do that, knowing that your team would be kicked out of the rest of the season!”
“Good job, Wolf Woman,” Hilary whispered to her friend.
“Thanks, guys; it hurts, but I know that I did the right thing.”
____________________
“Thanks a lot, Julia!” Lillie yelled harshly.
“Yeah, if it weren’t for you we’d be in the play-offs.” Mariah shouted.
Other players voiced their agreement.
“Sure, we’d be in the play-offs,” Julia said quietly so that everyone had to get quiet to listen, “But for totally wrong reasons. You guys thought that you needed drugs to win; you didn’t even consider that we were good enough to beat them on our own! I had faith in this team; that we had worked hard enough to have at least a little more self-respect. I was wrong.”
And with those last words, Julia walked away, Wait till Mom and Dad hear what happened today.

“She passed this test, huh? Well, let’s try a different kind of test for the other two!”
“But don’t you need permission to attack them first?”
“SHUT UP! Leave me!”
The dark angel scurried away. When he was out of sight and earshot he muttered, “In other words, yes, he does.”
____________________
“Thanks for your help, Grey Wolf,” the police chief said.
“No problem, always glad to knock the wind out of someone who’s breaking the law.” And with that, Grey Wolf climbed onto his Wolf Cycle and sped away.
He had barely gone a mile when he got a message from Robin, “Grey Wolf, there’s something strange going on at the Woodsville museum. Since you’re nearby, could you check it out?”
“Sure, Robin.”
“Call if you need back-up.”
Grey Wolf turned around and headed in the direction of the museum. He got there in less than three minutes.
On the outside everything looked normal, the gardens were neatly trimmed, bursting with color from the rain they had had yesterday; cars were lined up side-by-side in the parking lot; people were sitting on the benches either talking or reading a book or newspaper.
Whatever is going on must be inside. Grey Wolf thought as he got off his motorcycle. There are windows on the roof, I’ll go up and take a look inside.
Grey Wolf easily jumped up to the roof, and ran to a window. He looked down and saw that everything was still. All of the people stood frozen in place, too scared to move, but what they were scared of he couldn’t see from that window.
He went over to another window and saw two people in costumes, which he recognized as the Poacher and Mr. Freeze. So maybe there’s more to the civilians’ stillness than I originally thought.
Grey Wolf quietly opened the window, and then he jumped in behind the villains. They turned and looked at him, “If you come with me now then I won’t have to hurt you.” Grey Wolf said.
Mr. Freeze brought up his freeze-gun in response and fired at Grey Wolf, who easily evaded the attack, “I guess that’s a no.”
Grey Wolf flipped over Mr. Freeze and kicked him in the back, sending him to the ground. The Poacher pulled out a smallish machine gun and fired at Grey Wolf.
Grey Wolf jumped out of the way of dozens of bullets and used his Wolf-shield to block off a few more, but he stopped when he saw the bullets ricocheting off his shield, I don’t want to hurt any civilians.
He jumped again, trying to escape the bullets, dodging behind a display. I hope whatever I jumped behind isn’t too valuable…, he cringed as he heard glass and other stuff shatter.
The bullets stopped, He’s either reloading, or waiting for me to come out. I’ll use my Wolf hearing and find out if he’s reloading. Grey Wolf listened and heard the sound of…Mr. Freeze sneaking around the display!
Grey Wolf turned into a wolf, ready to pounce at his enemy and hoping that Poacher wouldn’t have enough time to fire before he got behind another display.
Mr. Freeze jumped out from the other side of the display, and aimed his freeze-gun at Grey Wolf, but was surprised when a wolf jumped out at him. Mr. Freeze fell to the ground with a cry, and Grey Wolf hurried to get behind another display.
But he wasn’t fast enough; just as he jumped behind the display case, a bullet hit him in the back right leg. He fought to not yelp in pain, he didn’t want them to know that he was injured. He knew he needed help, but the villains would surely hear him if he used his radio.
“God, I need help, and please hurry,” he prayed silently.

Chapter 17
Spiritual Attacks
Thurs, July 13th, 2056
“…This is the forth bank robbery in the past week like this. Someone somehow got past the hi-tech alarm systems and into the combination vault,” a reporter said on the TV.
“Only I know the combination for that vault,” the man in charge of the bank, Daniel Haynes, said, “I haven’t even told my right-hand man!”
“While the police are investigating this, it has been heard said among them that there is no evidence of fingerprints, or even shoe prints in the bank. They say that it’s almost hopeless to catch whoever has been doing this. Back to you Bob.”
“Thank-you, Alice, and now for today’s weather report. It’s going to be a…” Julia turned off the TV. Time for a little investigation.

“A bank was robbed last night?” Raven paced back and forth in her room, “and it was the same bank that I dreamed about robbing. This is not good!
“No, I didn’t do it, I couldn’t have! Come on Raven, you’re just tired and not thinking straight.” But saying it didn’t make her believe it; it made her realize it all the more. “I will leave, I must! I can’t give a bad name to my friends…partners,” she fixed her words.
“No, you will not go against what I told you!”
“I don’t have to listen to you! I won’t listen! You’ve lied to me! You said that you could make me better!”
“Raven…” the voice warned.
“No!”
“Yes!”
Raven’s vision blackened, the world around her seemed to disintegrate. “No! I thought you were…my…friend…”
Raven collapsed.

Wolf Woman walked down the hall, looking for the other Wolves. She finally found them in the gym, Grey Wolf was working on a weight machine while White Wolf used the gymnastics uneven bars.
“Hey guys,” she walked over to them.
“Hi Wolf Woman,” Grey Wolf said.
“What’s up?” White Wolf asked, after flipping off the bar.
“There was a strange bank robbery that happened last night. I was coming to see if you guys wanted to come with me to investigate.”
“Sure, what are the details?” Grey Wolf stood up from the machine.
“I’ll explain on the way,” she said, opening the door for White Wolf. Then Grey Wolf grabbed the door and held it for Wolf Woman, “Ladies first.”
She smiled and walked through.
As they walked, Wolf Woman told her teammates the details of the robbery, until something stopped her. Raven? “Guys, we need to turn around. We need to go back toward Raven’s room.”
“Why?” Grey Wolf asked.
“I don’t know, but we do!” She turned around and started running, the other two Wolves following close behind her.
When they got there, the door opened and Raven came out, floating slightly above the ground; but something was different about her. Black energy pulsed from her body, turning everything around them dark. Her eyes glowed red and her cape flared out as if from a breeze.
“What do you want with me,” Raven asked, though not in her own voice, “Christians?”
Almost not knowing what they were doing, the Wolf Pack joined hands and said together, “In the name of Jesus Christ, come out of her!”
____________________
Raven looked around as if not through her own eyes. Everything around her was black except for three figures in front of her, who light emanating from them. They uttered words together, but she could not understand them.
But as they spoke, her whole body shook, as if ready to explode. Then, slowly, her vision cleared and she fell to the ground.
Raven slowly sat up and looked at the three figures she’d seen before. Her vision had cleared and everything was back to normal, so she could now see who had been in front of her. But when she saw couldn’t believe who they were: Wolf Woman, Grey Wolf, and White Wolf! Wolf Woman and the others ran over to Raven and knelt beside her.
“Wha-what happened?” Raven asked shakily.
Grey Wolf looked at the other two, who nodded. “I think that a demon took over your body, Raven.”
“What?”
“What’s the last thing you remember, Raven?” White Wolf asked.
“I…I don’t know.”
“Think Raven!” Grey Wolf said.
“Just try,” Wolf Woman said gently.
“I was…I was…leaving.”
“To go where?” White Wolf asked.
“Away, just away,” Raven said, but she couldn’t hold in her secret any longer, “Oh well, I guess you’ll find out anyway. I robbed those banks, all of them, in my sleep.”
“What?” Grey Wolf said loudly.
Raven backed away, “It wasn’t my fault,” she stammered defensively; “I didn’t know that I did it until I heard about it on the radio. I remembered dreaming about it, the same bank and everything.”
“It’s okay, Raven.” White Wolf said gently, “Calm down, we aren’t mad…”
“Right, Grey Wolf?” Wolf Woman shot a look at her loud partner.
“Right, sorry Raven, what else do you remember?” Grey Wolf toned down his voice.
Raven was scared, but she had to tell someone, anyone; even these three, “He didn’t want me to leave. He told me to stay here, but I didn’t want to listen anymore…”
“Wait,” White Wolf stopped her, “Who’s he?”
“He’s a spirit that I talk to. We’ve talked for years, but lately…I don’t know, it’s all changed. He’s different, colder, frightening. He said he wants to help me, but…”
“Raven,” Wolf Woman tried to keep her voice calm, “You need to stop talking to him, or any other ‘spirit’ for that matter.”
“No, if I do that he’ll hurt me even more. And I can’t just stop, it doesn’t work like that.”
“Yes you can, Raven.” White Wolf urged.
“No, I can’t!” Raven yelled on the verge of tears.
“Shhhh… Raven, it’s okay.” Wolf Woman took her hand, “Trust us.”
Raven looked down at Wolf Woman’s hand and her own. She wanted to believe them, she wanted to have someone that she could really trust; she wanted a friend.
But her pride got in the way, “…No!” Raven jumped up and ran.
“Raven, wait!” Wolf Woman called out.
But Raven didn’t stop; she kept running, away from everything that she had ever wanted: friends.

“Raven’s gone?”
“Yes,” Robin replied, “She left a note saying that she couldn’t be here anymore. I don’t know if she went back to her world, or if she’s still here, or what. All I know is that she left.”
Wolf Woman was shocked. Raven had said that she was leaving, but she didn’t really think that she would. “Thanks, Robin. Do you have any way that I could contact her?”
“No,” he replied, “She left her mini-radio, and all other ways of communication behind. She’s really gone.”
“No, no I need to see her. She needs help, and though I’m not the one who can give it, I know Who can. Robin, if you hear from her will you please let me know ASAP?”
“Okay, Wolf Woman.”
“Thanks,” Wolf Woman turned to leave, “Oh, and one more thing, Robin?”
“What’s that?”
“Pray for her, she’s in terrible trouble.”

“Grr, those goody-two-shoes Christians aren’t giving up! I need to stop them. As long as Raven is out of their reach it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t listen to me, but if they can get to her…I can’t let that happen!
“So what can I do? I’ll just throw everything I’ve got at them, and get her to leave the Earth.
“Look out, Christian soldiers; I’m coming your way!”

Wed, July 12th, 2056
Grey Wolf, White Wolf, and Wolf Woman slowly made their way to the back of a white house, or the White House as most called it. They crept along silently, careful to not be spotted by the men with machine guns; one noise at the wrong time could get the President killed.
When they got to the back of the White House, they took out their Wolf ropes and threw them up as high as they could; if they used their rope-guns they’d make noise, so instead they had small anchors on the ends of their rope.
They tested their weight and climbed up quickly and quietly. When they finally got to the right window, they peeked through it to see what was going on inside. They saw what they expected: some dude with a mask pointing a gun at the President. The guy’s back was to the window and he was facing a video recorder, which he’d somehow gotten hooked to all the major TV channels in the area.
They could hear a little through the window, and they heard him say, “…demands aren’t met, I’ll shoot the President. Again I say that I want 5 million dollars in cash within the next hour. Any attempts to stop me, and I’ll shoot…” He went on with this over and over again.
White Wolf had slowly and quietly been using a glasscutter on the window, with Wolf Woman and Grey Wolf holding on to the window with one of their hands, each keeping their other hand on the rope. Once White Wolf was done cutting the glass, Wolf Woman and Grey Wolf aimed and dropped the glass onto a large piece of foam that they’d put down before they climbed.
White Wolf climbed through the gap, followed by Wolf Woman, and then Grey Wolf. The guy threatening the President was obviously an amateur, for he was so busy looking at the camera that he didn’t notice them come in.
Grey Wolf went behind the guy and quickly kicked his legs out from under him. “Oomph,” the masked man landed with a thud. Grey Wolf jumped on him and tried to wrestle the gun away from him while the girls untied the President.
The gun went off, aimed at Grey Wolf’s head, but he easily evaded the bullet. He grabbed for the gun, but it went off again and hit him in the chest.
“Grey Wolf!” Wolf Woman almost screamed.
The guy with the mask turned and pointed the gun at the other two. “As you can see, these fools tried to stop me, and now one of them is down. If you want the President alive, you’ll bring me the money, but the Wolf Pack won’t live because they tried to stop me!”
He fired the gun at White Wolf, who jumped out of the way. Wolf Woman ran towards the guy while he was focused on White Wolf. She almost got there, when the guy turned and shot at her. The bullet hit her in the arm.
White Wolf charged at him and he turned to shoot her, but too late. She knocked him to the floor, but as they were falling the gun went off, and the bullet hit the President in the head.
“Simulation terminated. Simulation terminated…”
The surroundings changed back into the interior of the simulator.
“That mission could have gone better,” Grey Wolf said standing up. “Although I have to say, you and the other techies did a good job with the program, White Wolf. It was all so real, I almost felt really dead!”
“Thanks, Grey Wolf.”
“I completely forgot we were in the simulator,” Wolf Woman added, “Although that’s all the worse for us, since it didn’t go so well…”
Robin walked up to them, “How was the new simulator program? Did it work?”
“Oh yes!” Grey Wolf said, “It was great!”
“But the mission wasn’t,” Wolf Woman said, “We failed, if this had been real, the President would be dead now.”
“And so would I!” Grey Wolf exclaimed.
“Well, that’s what the simulator is for,” Robin said, “So you can practice and learn.”
“Exactly!” White Wolf said, “And it all worked perfectly! The team did a really good job!”
“Yep,” Grey Wolf said, “Now let’s go get something to eat, I’m starving!”
“You ate just before we went in!” Wolf Woman exclaimed, “And we were in there for how long?” she asked Robin.
“About 10 minutes.”
“Really?” Grey Wolf asked, “It seemed like we were there for about an hour!”
“I know,” White Wolf said, “That’s one of the things we programmed this to do; in a simulation, time goes by about 6 times faster. So our hour in there equals ten minutes out here.”
“Sweetness!” Wolf Woman smiled.
“Yeah, now let’s get to the kitchen!”

Raven sat straight up in bed, breathing heavily. Another dream. This was the fourth time in the last week that she dreamed about robbing a bank. Just another thing to show that I’m truly evil inside. All I ever dream about is doing stuff that’s against the law; I was a fool to think that there could be any good in me!
I can’t stay here; this place is for people who are truly good deep inside, not like me. All I have deep inside of me is blackness. Raven stood up and started to walk over to her dresser, to get some of her stuff.
But then she stopped and a voice came into her mind, “No Raven, I’ve told you that I will help you to achieve what you want. I led you here to Earth to accomplish this. You just need to keep trying and stay here with the Titans.”
“But you’ve told me that for such a long time now, and nothing is getting better, in fact it’s getting worse!”
“You doubt me?”
“I don’t know; I don’t know anything anymore.” And with that, Raven closed off her mind. She climbed back into bed and tried to go back to sleep, but she couldn’t. He was keeping her from sleep.
A tear rolled down her cheek, Stop that, Raven! She told herself, Emotion is weakness. But she couldn’t stop it, any more than she could stop the dreams.

(Author's Note) Ok, as you've hopefully all seen on my sidebar, I've changed stuff about some characters that aren't mine. You've seen it before with my having some characters come to know the Lord, as well as some chages about where they live/go to school. In the rest of this story (and the next one and the other one that I'm still working on) there is a much bigger change to a character. That character is Raven.
In the comics as well as the Teen Titans Animated Series, she is the child of a demon and her powers have to do with witchcraft. Both of these aspects of her character I feel are not right in my story. But I love the character of Raven, so I've kept her in my stories, but I've changed a lot of the stuff in her past. She is a main character for the rest of my stories, so you'll be seeing the changes a lot. I hope that you will be able to cope with my changes, and I hope that you may come to enjoy her new storyline in my stories. (btw, just so you know, during the next few chapters there is a lot of stuff having to do with Satan and his demons, but I've kept it "family friendly") And now, without further ado:
Chapter 16
Raven’s Fear
Mon, July 10th, 2056
“So are you coming to Youth Group on Wednesday?” Wolf Woman asked Grey Wolf.
“If nothing comes up that would keep me away, then yes. I’ve missed the last two because of missions,” he answered, “So what has Bob been teaching lately?”
The Wolf Pack was walking around Teen Titan Headquarters, just talking.
“Right now we’re going through lessons about witnessing.” White Wolf told him, “It’s been really helpful; Bob’s done a good job.”
“Yeah, he’s answering all of my questions, like what to say and how to start a relationship that will later lead to opportunities.” Wolf Woman said.
“Sound’s cool,” Grey Wolf said, “So yeah, I’m planning on being there, as long as I’m not on a mission at the time.”
“I’m sure that Robin won’t make you miss too many weeks in a row,” White Wolf said, “I mean, he goes to our Youth Group, and I’m sure that he knows that you really like being there. It’s just that we’re still getting situated, with all the new members and stuff like that.”
“I’m sure that it’s a little hard on him too,” Wolf Woman said, “With all the things that need organizing and stuff like that. I’ve had to do the dishes 3 times already this week; we all have to make sacrifices until everything gets organized.”
“3 times? I’d rather miss Youth Group 5 times in a row than have to do the dishes 3 days out of the last 4!” Grey Wolf joked.
Wolf Woman knew he was joking, but rolled her eyes anyway, “Oh come on, Grey Wolf, I know that you hate dishes but I also know that you would choose dishes over not going to Youth Group!”
“Maybe…”
Before she could reply, Wolf Woman saw someone walking down the hall towards them. “Hi Raven,” she said.
Raven just walked by, seemingly unaware that they were even there.
“Hi, Wolf Woman,” Grey Wolf said once she was out of earshot, mimicking Raven’s voice. Wolf Woman elbowed him in the side, “What?” he asked, “I mean, that was kind of rude how she just ignored you there.”
“She’s been doing that a lot lately,” said Wolf Woman, “I’m used to it. But I still say hi and try to be friendly to her. I just wish I knew why she was doing that.”
“Why does Raven do anything that Raven does?”
That earned Grey Wolf another elbow in the side. “Stop it, you’re being rude!”
“All right, I’m sorry,” he said, “It’s just that I’m getting tired of this, her always acting like we aren’t here.”
“So you’ve noticed too?” Wolf Woman asked.
“Well, yeah, I’m not totally stupid.”
"I never said you were.”
“How about you, White Wolf?” Grey Wolf asked, “Have you noticed Raven acting like that at all?”
“Yes, I have,” she said, “I’ve been praying for her a lot. You know what Robin and some of the others told me?”
“What?” they asked together.
“They told me that she talks to spirits.”
“Really?” they said together.
“Wow, that’s bad.” Wolf Woman said.
“I know, I’ve tried to talk to her, but she’s so closed up,” White Wolf said.
“I think that we should all pray for her,” Wolf Woman said.
“I agree,” Grey Wolf said.
____________________
“I haven’t been hanging around them, just like you said.”
“But there are others around you, and you‘re still with them. Why are you disobeying?”
Raven felt a sharp pain in her mind, which quickly released, “Ow. I’m trying to avoid them, but some of them I have to be with sometimes, like Robin, he’s the one who gives me assignments; I have to be with him, at least sometimes!”
“Maybe, but you’re with him even when you aren’t being given missions.”
Another sharp pang, “I’ll do better.”
“You’d better.”
“Why am I doing this, again?”
“Because they’re enemies of everything that I stand for, which you stand for too, right Raven?”
“Right… I guess.”
“What do you mean, ‘I guess’?”
“Of course I do. It’s just that…”
“That what?”
“Nothing. Is there anything that you want me to do today?”
“No, just stay away from anyone who’s a Christian, and even those who are just in danger of their influence. They’re dangerous, Raven.”
“All right.”
The voice left her head and Raven’s mind cleared. As she stood up she thought about what she’d been told. It seemed like it had all been a dream, but she knew it was real, she was used to it. After all, she’d known her "spirit friend" since she was nine. At times he scared her, but she’d found a small amount of comfort in her talks with him. The only comfort she’d ever felt.

Chapter 15
Ultimate Weapon
Wolf Woman felt a huge pain in her side; the alien’s energy beam had missed its fatal target but had still hit her. She struggled to get up, for there were still many of the enemy around; if she stayed down it would mean certain death.
She finally stood and looked around; no threats were close by for the alien that shot her was dead. Wolf Woman quickly cut the electrical net that held Wonder Woman captive.
“Are you all right?” Wolf Woman asked.
“I’m fine.” Wonder Woman answered. Apparently, even though she had been in the net for a few minutes, Wonder Woman’s strength kept her from blacking out or worse.
Wolf Woman turned to see if any of the enemy was around, but winced at the pain turning caused her.
“Are you all right?”
“I think so,” Wolf Woman replied, “but I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”
Just then, aliens noticed them and came towards them. “Don’t worry,” Wonder Woman said, “I’ll stay with you.”
____________________
“Robin!” White Wolf called to her friend as she ran, “I need to talk with you!”
“This is hardly the time!” he said while fighting off three aliens.
White Wolf ran forward, SLASH, SWIPE, SLASH! The three aliens fell dead. “Now Robin!”
“All right, come with me!” He led her into a small bushy area a few yards from the fighting; “Now what’s so important, I’ve never seen you so intense!”
“I think I know how to stop them!”
“Really? How?”
“They always left right before the sun came out before and now they didn’t, why?”
“Because they can’t see the sun? It’s blocked by the…” he paused.
“Dark gas!” they said together.
“I think that if we get rid of it so that the sun comes out they’ll at least get back to their ships, or maybe something bigger will happen!” White Wolf said excitedly.
“Right, who can we get to help us?”
“Atomic Teen. He can use his wind powers and blow that stuff away. But we also need to clog up the ducts that it’s all coming out of.”
“Ice Maiden could probably put a bunch of ice in the way.” Robin said.
“Right, you get AT, I’ll get Ice.”
“Let’s go!”
White Wolf ran back into the fray to find Ice Maiden. It was easy to spot her; Falconess was carrying her over the battlefield while she was shooting blasts of ice at aliens. Using her rocket boots, White Wolf joined them in the air, “Girls, I need your help. Falconess, fly over to the ships.”
Falconess did as she was told, and on the way White Wolf explained the rest, “Ice Maiden, I need you to block up the ducts letting that stuff in the air with your ice.”
Ice Maiden started shooting at the openings, clogging them with tons of ice. Part one of the plan was a success!
____________________
Robin searched for Atomic Teen through the huge battle. He was having a hard time until he saw a tornado. That’s helpful!
He ran towards the tornado and soon found Atomic Teen fighting aliens while keeping the tornado going. “Atomic Teen, I need your help with something!”
“What is it?”
“I need you to blow away the dark gas in the sky.”
“Blow it where?” Atomic Teen asked.
“I don’t know, out into space?”
“Right,” AT said. He took down his tornado, which dropped a bunch of aliens, and made a huge wind. He blew the gas up, up and gone!
Robin squinted his eyes, for now he could see the sun, bright as ever!
All around him aliens shrieked. They all tried to run back to their ships. A lot of them made it, but the rest of them fell to the ground, dead.
“The sun’s rays kill them!” Robin exclaimed. “Quick, everyone attack the ships; make holes for the sun to get through!”
Robin quickly called Superman and told him what happened, “So when the sun is supposed to come out get rid of the gas and attack them with the sun’s rays!”
“Will do, Robin, thanks for the tip!”
“I’ll send all of my people who are still strong enough over to you, to help you until the sun comes up.”
“Thanks, and send them soon!”
____________________
“I can’t believe it! It’s all over!” Wolf Woman exclaimed.
“I know, all White Martians are either dead or have retreated back into space as fast as they could!” White Wolf said.
“Yeah, not that I’m happy that we had to kill so many, but we’ve saved the human race from annihilation!” Tigerlady exclaimed.
“It’s too bad no one will ever know about this,” Grey Wolf said.
“Yeah, why aren’t we telling anyone, Robin?” Rottweiler asked.
“Well, Superman, a few others, and I, got together and discussed it; we think that if we tell people about this, now that it’s over, people will stop trusting us.”
“I guess that makes sense,” Atomic Teen said, “but I still wish that other people could know what we did.”
“Oh, well.” Golden Retriever said, “At least things will go back to normal. Well, almost normal.”
“Almost?” Wolf Woman asked.
“Well, now that we’ve helped out with this I guess that we, Tigerlady, Rottweiler, and I, will be working as Superheroes more often.”
“Yeah, I guess you will,” Robin said, “And I’d like to help you get started, and you too, AT.”
“How, Robin?” Tigerlady asked.
“How would you guys like to become Teen Titans?”
“Sweet!” Rottweiler said, “Thanks Robin!”
“Yeah, thanks,” Atomic Teen said.
“I’ll be asking all of the teenage Superheroes who helped out in this to become Titans, what do you say you help me gather them all together?”
“Sure Robin,” White Wolf said, “We’ll help.”
“Yeah, let’s go!” Tigerlady said.
Wolf Woman and the others scattered, each of them finding teenage heroes and sending them to Robin. As she was walking, Wolf Woman bumped into someone.
“Where are you going in such a hurry, Wolf Pup?”
“Actually I was coming to find you and tell you something, Leo.” she replied
“Yeah? What?”
She smiled and said, “Goodbye!” She walked away. I don’t need to worry about his attacks anymore, I have Someone more important with me, and what He thinks is all that matters.
“Good job, Jules,” Grey Wolf said coming up from behind, “I knew you could do it!”
“Thanks, Grey Wolf.” she said, “now let’s go find the rest of the teens and tell them Robin‘s news!”

Sat, June 24th, 2056
All of the Teen Titans were gathered in one room. It was time to show each other their secret identities.
A bunch of the names flew past Wolf Woman’s head; those names meant nothing to her. The most interesting people to show themselves were near the end.
Atomic Teen told his secret identity, “Gregory Locke.”
This didn’t mean anything to Wolf Woman, but it meant something to Falconess and Ice Maiden; they went to the same school as he did and when he said his name they gave out small gasps.
Then it was Batgirl’s turn, “Barbara Gordon.”
Wolf Woman’s eyes widened, Barbara?
Rottweiler was next, “Anyi Jimenez.”
Anyi?
Golden Retriever, “Nataly Jimenez.”
Wolf Woman looked in surprise at White Wolf, Nataly?
Tigerlady, “Stephanie Wold.”
What is going on here?
Then Falconess and Ice Maiden went, but Wolf Woman already knew them, and she was still in shock from the others that she knew. She recovered just before it was her turn, “I’m Julia Wolfe.”
A few gasps came from the crowd, and even more came after White Wolf and Grey Wolf took off theirs.
Once everyone was done, a huge group flocked together: Ice Maiden, Falconess, Atomic Teen, Robin, Batgirl, Tigerlady, Rottweiler, Golden Retriever, White Wolf, Grey Wolf, and Wolf Woman. All of them hugged, shook hands, gave slaps on the back, laughed, and talked. What a great day!
But that wasn’t the end! Robin got a call from Superman telling him and the Teen Titans to meet at the Justice League headquarters!
____________________
Robin and Superman shook hands up front. Now the Teen Titans (now with 25 teens total) and the Justice League (which had also grown, now with 21 members) had an official alliance. They would still be separate groups, but together they would make the best team of Superheroes ever: the new Super Friends.

Julia dribbled the basketball towards the hoop. She jumped up and shot the ball, but she missed. Cassie came up, grabbed the ball, and ran back towards the other hoop. She shot, and she made it!
Julia leaned over, her hands on her knees and breathing heavily, “Okay, you win two games to one. Now can we please sit down and rest?”
“Fine, but only for a little bit, I have the whole day planned out,” Cassie grinned mischievously, “Just wait till you see what we’re going to do next!”
Julia plopped down on the bench; the pain in her side was still there. It was lessened considerably, but there was still some pain. She grabbed her side.
“What’s wrong, Jules?”
“Oh, just a stitch, I’m all right.”
“Good.”
After a couple of minutes, Julia stood up, “Okay, what’s next?”
“Well, I’ve gotten a bunch of my friends together and they’re going to meet us at the mall. I told them I was bringing a high-schooler with me, so they are all excited. All of their hopes will be smashed when they see you, though.”
“Oh thanks!” Julia said sarcastically, “I’ll just wear a disguise; they won’t recognize me then.”
“Already taken care of,” Cassie said, giggling while she reached into her purse. She pulled out a brown wig, “You’re going to wear this!”
“What? Okay, now you’re going too far!”
“You promised that you’d do what ever I asked you to,” Cassie said stubbornly.
“Oh fine,” Julia grabbed the wig. She put it on, “How do I look?”
Cassie laughed, “Great! Now let’s go!”
Julia sighed. The things I do for my little sister!

“We fought them all through the night.” Superman said on the monitor screen. “Finally, almost at sunrise, they all retreated. There were a few deaths on our side, all Villains; other than that there are some injuries, but none that can’t be healed. But there are hundreds of alien casualties.”
“That’s about the same thing that happened over here, Superman,” Lex Luthor told him, “Except that none from our side got killed.”
“Good.” Superman spoke again, “My team is going to stay here in case of another attack; we’ll keep contact over the monitors.”
“Right Superman,” Robin said, “But there’s something going on right now that you might want to know about. The alien ships are letting out strange black gas into the air. We’ve checked it and it’s not toxic, but I’m worried about why they’re doing it.”
“They’re doing that over here too, but you’re right, it isn’t toxic, and we have bigger things to worry about.”
“All right,” Robin said. Then he sighed, “We’re keeping a close watch on them, but I don’t know if that will really help at all, everyone here is tired and/or hurt. We may not survive another attack.”
“The same thing is happening here too, Robin, but we will fight to the end, no matter what. Nothing is more important than protecting Earth right now.” And with those last words, Superman stopped talking and the monitor switched back to watching the ships.
Robin walked away from the monitor, “God, if we’ve ever needed a miracle we need it now!”

“Yes, Mom, I’m okay. It’s just a scratch.” Wolf Woman said.
“And…” her Mom prompted her over the cell phone.
“And…a blast in the leg from a laser gun…” she admitted. “But it’s nothing serious; there are others with much worse wounds than what I got.”
“Wounds that you could get if you aren’t careful.”
“I know, and I am careful.” she said. “I avoided getting my head cut off.”
“WHAT?”
“Oops…” she muttered under her breath. “Like I said, Mom, I’m fine. Now listen, I have to go, but I’ll call you again soon. Bye.”
“Bye, and be careful.”
“I will, Mom. Tell Dad and Cassie hi and that I’m all right. And please try and make up a good excuse for me not being home to tell Cassie, I don‘t want her to worry.” And with that, she hung up the phone.
“Is the Wolf Pup missing her Mommy?”
Wolf Woman spun around, “What do you want, Leo?”
But he walked right on by, laughing as he went.
“Grr…he makes me so mad sometimes! What am I saying? All the time!” she said aloud to herself.
“You and me both, sister!”
“Oh, Grey Wolf, I didn’t see you there in the dark.” she said, “Practicing your sneaking?”
“Yeah, something like that.”
There was a slight pause, then Wolf Woman said, “Oh Grey Wolf, it’s like he’s waiting around every corner; just waiting to attack me, but not with a sword or his fist, with words. If it were either of the other two I could handle it, but I just can’t block these blows.”
Grey Wolf thought for a moment, then said, “You just need to remember who you are; not that cheesy ‘believe in yourself’ line, but instead this: You are a child of the King. Don’t let those who do Satan’s will get to you. Like the Bible says, ‘Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.’ You can block these attacks because you have Him on your side. And you know that He cares for you.”
Wolf Woman thought about this for a second, and then she smiled, “Thanks, Grey Wolf.”
“That’s what brothers and sisters in Christ are there for,” he said, “to help strengthen you and lift you up when you’re feeling down.”
“And I hope that someday I can return the favor, as your sister in Christ.”
Just then, Grey Wolf’s radio beeped, “Yes?” he said into the radio.
“Grey Wolf,” he heard Robin say, “Grab everyone near you, tell them to get ready, the White Martians are advancing on our camp from the East!”
“Right, Robin, I have Wolf Woman with me and we’ll tell everyone we see to come help meet the attack.”
“Thanks, and you two be careful!”
Wolf Woman leaned over, “We will, Robin.”
“Yeah, and you be careful too!” Grey Wolf said, and then he shut off his radio. “Let’s go, Jules.” he whispered her nickname.
They ran out, grabbing everyone they saw and quickly saying, “The White Martians are attacking, let’s go!”
They ran out towards where the Martians were coming from.
“Wait for them to attack first!” Robin yelled.
“No, you fool!” Lex Luthor yelled at him, “If we wait then they’ll have the advantage that comes with attacking first; they’ll wound some of us before we can wound them!”
“We wait.” Robin said again with authority.
But Luthor didn’t listen and he and the other Villains charged the enemies’ front line.
“Great.”
Wolf Woman ran up to him, “Robin, what should we do?”
“It’s too late to do anything else,” he replied, “let’s go.”
He started running towards the aliens with Wolf Woman, Grey Wolf, and all the others right behind him.
“Father,” Wolf Woman prayed as she ran. “Please give us strength to defeat them! And keep us safe.”
And the two groups collided.

Fri, June 23rd, 2056
They’d been fighting for six hours, everyone was worn-out, but whenever they cut down aliens, more and more came out of the ships to replace them. But the Superheroes and Villains did not have that advantage. They were all tired, but they kept on going; fighting to protect humanity from annihilation.
Wolf Woman was exhausted. The last battle that she’d been in had lasted about 5 hours. This battle had been going on for six; plus she was still tired out from the last battle. She wanted to collapse, but somehow she fought on, they needed to win this battle.
Wolf Woman stayed as close to the other Wolves as possible, most of the time they stayed back-to-back-to-back to protect each other from attacks from behind.
It will be morning soon; they went away when the sun rose yesterday; maybe they’ll do that today too.
After another twenty minutes, Wolf Woman sneaked a lightening fast look at her watch. She did a double take. It was almost 7 o’clock and it was the beginning of summer, the sun should have been up by now!
____________________
White Wolf realized this as well, and she soon figured out what was wrong. The dark gas that the aliens had let out into the air was blocking the sun!
As she fought, White Wolf’s mind raced. Things started coming together in her mind. The aliens had left when the sun came up before, then they let out this dark stuff into the air, and now they fought when they normally retreated! She had to get to Robin!
____________________
Wolf Woman watched as White Wolf left and then realized what White Wolf had figured out. The sun! Something about the sun made the aliens worry. Were they scared of light? Or maybe they were allergic to the sun’s rays?
Wolf Woman’s mind suddenly shot back to the battle. Someone was in trouble; she just knew it! She looked around her; she saw nothing. No, something told her. Someone’s in serious trouble!
She looked around again and saw something moving behind a few bushes near her. She ran over and looked behind the bushes and she saw what was wrong. Wonder Woman was on the ground, caught in a net from one of the electric net guns, and an alien with a laser sword was running towards her!
Wolf Woman ran towards Wonder Woman, and as she was running she grabbed what she’d forgotten about for most of the battle: the laser sword she had used the night before.
She got in front of Wonder Woman and parried the alien’s attack. Then, in one quick motion, she cut off the surprised Martian’s arm and jabbed it in the chest.
Wolf Woman turned to cut Wonder Woman loose, but had to stop and defend herself from another alien with an energy gun. The alien fired, Wolf Woman deflected it with her Wolf shield and swung at the alien, who ducked out of the way. It shot again and again while Wolf Woman deflected some shots with her shield and jumped out of the way of others. While in the air, Wolf Woman swung her sword, letting her shield down. The alien shot, Wolf Woman’s sword hit flesh, and they both fell to the ground.

Chapter 14
Battle for Earth
Rottweiler, Wolf Woman, White Wolf, Grey Wolf, and Atomic Teen circled around the right side of the ships and came out in front of the aliens.
“Stop!” Grey Wolf yelled to the aliens as they all stepped out of the bushes.
“Earth is protected by us,” Rottweiler said with authority, “if you want to go on a killing rampage you’ll have to go through us first!”
The White Martians looked at each other quickly, as if they were confused. Then they all leveled their guns, aiming them at the Heroes.
The Wolf Pack stepped in front of the other two and blocked the blasts of energy with their Wolf-shields.
“WIND!” Atomic Teen yelled. He made four huge tornados within the aliens’ ranks, catching a bunch of them in their whirling winds.
The Wolves, who had all strapped on their swords beforehand, all drew their Wolf Swords and charged the Martians.
Rottweiler, with her expert gymnast abilities, flipped over the aliens and landed in the middle of a few of them. She kicked and punched a few and then jumped high to avoid being hit with the aliens’ weapons.
Atomic Teen yelled, “WATER!” The tornados disappeared, dropping about a dozen from each tornado from 40 feet in the air, killing them. He ran out into the middle of the aliens’ group, while running hitting a few aliens with super-strong water blasts. Once in the middle, past the other heroes, he made a tidal wave, knocking over a hundred or so aliens and killing about 25 of them.
The Wolf Pack ran through the group of aliens nonstop, for if they did stop they would be hit by the energy blasts from the guns. Since they didn’t stop running, the blasts from the guns took out a bunch of the White Martians themselves.
While running they swung their swords, cutting many deep and killing some. Wolf Woman and the others didn’t like to kill, but in this case they had to; if they didn’t, then all humans could be annihilated.
Then one of the White Martians yelled out some kind of gibberish that must have meant something in their language. All of the aliens ran back into their ships.
“YEAH!” Grey Wolf yelled.
“We did it!” Rottweiler called out.
“Oh yeah!” Wolf Woman yelled.
The five heroes ran towards each other and gave high-fives and hugs. They had stopped hundreds of aliens with only five people!
But their victory was short lived.
White Martians started pouring out of the ships again, this time with armor and more than just guns. Some had hi-tech laser swords that put light-sabers to shame, some had giant sonic cannons, some had the energy guns that they had had before, some had electrical net shooters, and some had what looked like electrical maces.
“Oh, fun,” Rottweiler said, shoulders drooping.
“Help,” Wolf Woman muttered.
As if by magic, after she said “help” their team got there. A team of Superheroes and Super-Villains mixed together, not something that you see everyday.
The White Martians’ eyes widened for a second, but they quickly narrowed them and brandished their weapons.
Everything that happened next was like a blur in front of Wolf Woman’s eyes. It was the biggest battle she’d ever been in, and the biggest battle she’d ever been in before this day had only thirteen people and a bunch of “Clay Things”.
She remembered running out with the Wolf Pack with her sword held high. She remembered feeling resistance against her sword from the bodies of aliens. During the running she somehow got a deep cut in her left arm, but even with the pain she kept going.
She remembered getting separated from the rest of the Pack and finding herself fighting side-by-side with Villains, though she couldn’t remember which ones they were. She remembered her sword being sliced in two by a laser sword and jumping away just before the laser sword sliced through where her neck had been. She remembered running. She remembered being caught
