Chapter 9
New Minions
Tues, Nov 14th, 2056
When they woke up the next morning there were messages for them on the computers in their rooms. Julia’s read:
Teal Minion, you will be working under Poison Ivy. Come out into the hall and you will be transported to your new quarters.
So Julia walked out to the hallway where her friends were waiting for her. "Hi guys," she said, "who are you two assigned to?"
"I’m assigned to work under the Leopard," said William.
"And I’m assigned to work under Rabies," said Gregory.
"I’m assigned with Poison Ivy. Well, good luck guys. It was nice working with you and I hope we can see each other again soon," she said, playing out her part.
Then three holes came in the ground and they fell through.
When she landed, Julia found herself in a small room, bigger than the one she’d been in before but still pretty small. Other than being just a tad bit bigger than the other room, this room was the same as the other; it had a bed, a dresser, and a door that led to a very small bathroom with just a toilet, a sink, and barely enough room to walk.
"Like your room?"
Startled, Julia turned to see Poison Ivy standing in the doorway, "It’s fine, just fine."
"Good, I’d hate to have problems with my newest minion, especially after seeing your test results, pretty good."
"Oh, I’m sure that I won’t give you any problems." she said. I’d like to though…
"Good. Breakfast is served at 9 o’clock sharp; don’t get there at 9:05 or you won’t be having any. Same with lunch and dinner; lunch is at 12:30 and dinner at 6. Unless you are on an assignment, you will only have contact with other minions at meal times. No going into any office without permission, and if we catch you doing any of these things you’ll live to regret it. Other than that, you can do whatever. There’s a computer in your room with limited and monitored internet access." And with that, she left.
Julia sat down on the bed. Okay, what to do now? I’ll call the others later to see if our radios are jammed or not. I wish the computer wasn’t being watched. Oh wait, the left glove of my wolf-suit has a computer, I can use that!
She grabbed a small device from her pocket, a camera and bug detector. She casually reached behind herself and appeared to scratch her back, while instead she was setting it down on the bed. After about two minutes she reached back again, grabbed the camera detector and got under the bed covers. With the blanket blocking her from being seen, she looked at the results. There was only one thing in the room, in the computer and it wasn’t a camera.
"Cap Flow." she said quietly. Her Wolf-suit came on and she took of the glove. "Cap Flow," she said again and her Wolf-suit came off, leaving the glove with her. She slipped the glove back on and turned on her Wolf Computer.
After about an hour had gone by, she turned it off and hid the glove. Then she called her friends, "How’s it going?"
"Pretty good," William said through his radio, "I don’t think that they suspect anything."
"Same here," she heard Gregory say, "What should we do?"
"We need to meet somewhere, soon, say at the next mealtime?" she asked.
"Okay, we’ll meet you there." Gregory said.
"We can eat slowly and be the last ones there, then we can head to wherever." William said.
"We should contact Robin and White Wolf and ask her to hack in and find out where the computer central is." Julia said.
"All right, I’ll do that and call you guys with the info." Gregory said.
"All right, Teal Minion over and out."
"Gray Minion over and out." William said.
"And Red Minion over and out." Gregory said.

Julia walked by the counters that held the food in the kitchen; but food wasn’t really the right word, more like slop. Maybe not that bad, but that should give you a clue. Plus, after every foot of food there was a basket with cigarettes, booze, cigars, and who knows what else was in them. She just skipped on by those places.
With a plate only half-full of the stinky food, Julia looked around for her friends. She didn’t see them so she walked over to an empty table and sat down.
Cautiously, she brought the food up to her mouth. It wasn’t bad, but that was because it was bland, no taste at all.
"Hey you!" she heard a voice behind her.
Julia turned around to see a big minion in a green suit. Not fat, but muscular and massive. You wouldn’t want to line up in football across from him!
"Me?" Julia asked.
"Yeah, you!" he growled, "You one of the new minions?"
"What if I am?" Julia asked.
"Then I’m going to teach you who’s in charge!"
"Then I am new!" Julia said standing up, "Bring it on!"
Green Minion looked surprised at her reaction; but he quickly hid it with a determined snarl. Other minions started backing away, leaving Julia and "Mr. In Charge" alone.
He lunged at her and Julia jumped up on top of a table and leaped up swinging her leg out, kicking him square in the shoulder. Any normal person would have gotten knocked over by this attack, but it just made him fall back a few steps. He swung at Julia, who ducked from the blow and kicked again, aiming for his face. He stepped back, easily evading the kick. She moved closer to kick again, but he beat her to it. The force of his kick sent her far back into the crowd that had gathered to watch the show. As she got back up, she noticed some Legion members, Two Face and Harley Quinn to be exact, just watching the fight, not doing anything to stop it. They even seemed to be enjoying the show!
Fine, I’ll just have to win the battle myself! It shouldn’t be too difficult!
She ran out of the crowd and leaped up, flipping over her opponent. After she landed, Julia got down, flung her leg out, and swung, knocking his legs out from under him. Once he was on the ground, she jumped out at him; but he rolled over so she missed him.
They both got up. He just stood there for a second, but Julia didn’t want to let him have the first attack. She lunged at him and punched him in the face. Twice. He quickly recovered and sent out a punch of his own, hitting Julia in the shoulder. It hurt, but she wasn’t about to back down, and she kicked, hitting him in the stomach. He buckled over just long enough for Julia to swing at his head. With her TT training, she had learned right where to hit someone’s head to knock that person out, and that’s just where she hit him. He fell over on the ground, knocked out cold.
Julia slowly, casually walked back over to her table and sat down to finish her food. Slowly, the crowd went away, and her friends came out to join her.
"Pretty impressive, Teal," William said.
"Yeah, when we came and saw what was going on we were prepared to go and help you out, but you pretty much had everything under control." Gregory said.
"Thanks guys." Julia said. She looked around to see if anyone was close by. Seeing that no one was, she turned to her friends and whispered, "So, Red, did you get the info?"
"Yep," Gregory whispered, "it’s not all that far from our rooms, I can lead you guys there when it’s time."
"Good," William said, "but I think that we should wait a day or two before we do it."
"I don’t want to stay here any longer then I need to." Julia protested.
"It’s our first day, though. They’ll probably be watching us more closely." William fought back.
"I agree with Grey," Gregory said, "and that makes it two to one. We wait."
"All right," Julia said, "You guys won, I guess it makes sense to wait at least a day…"
"Two days." Gregory said.
"Three." William said.
"Fine, three, but no more." Julia said.
"All right."
They finished their lunches and got up to head back. Julia looked over at Green Minion. He was standing and glaring at her. She just smiled at him and looked away.
Who’s In-Charge now?

Green Minion only bothered her once more. At dinnertime, that same day, he had come at her, ready for a rematch; his hands were out in front of him so as to grab her. Julia turned to face him, waited for the last millisecond and ducked out of the way, pushing his hands away with her own. As he went past her she turned and pushed him hard. He tripped over her leg, which she had stretched out as she ducked, and her push sent him to the ground.
He glared at her from the floor, but she just ignored him. He didn’t bother her again.
