Feb. 10, 2009 - Chapter 21, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Are you guys ready for the final installment of "How It All Started"? Here you go!

Wed, July 19th, 2056

A couple of days later White Wolf was finally able to go home. Her friends had visited her so much that it almost seemed like she was back at HQ, but she was glad that she would be able to get out of the hospital.

“After a blood test to make sure that you’re truly all right,” the doctor had said.

So White Wolf sat in her room waiting for the results. Grey Wolf, Wolf Woman, and Atomic Teen (who had all come to visit her) sat with her.

The doctor walked into the room, “The test shows that you’re going to be all right, White Wolf. But there is something weird in your blood that isn’t dangerous; we think that it’s from the fusion beam.”

“And you don’t know what it is?” White Wolf asked.

“No, we don’t.”

“Well, since it isn’t dangerous, can I go home?”

“Yes, you may,” the doctor answered.

“Thanks,” White Wolf said standing up. The others all stood up too, and they all went to TTHQ.

Once they got there, everyone welcomed White Wolf back. “I can’t stay long, guys,” she said, “I need to get back home to show my parents that I’m all right.”

“Okay,” Rottweiler said, “But first, would you like to come watch some of a sparring match? Right now it’s between Robin and Beastboy, Batgirl’s going to fight the winner.”

“Okay,” she said, “I guess that I can stay for a little while.” White Wolf and a bunch of others walked to the simulator and watched the fight on the screen. The cool part of the simulator was that while in combat inside you don’t really get hurt or die. It seems and feels like you do, but once the simulation is over the pain goes away.

Beastboy was in the form of a tiger, lunging and clawing at Robin, who was using his acrobatic abilities to keep away. After a minute of this, Robin’s strategy changed to offensive. Keeping behind Beastboy as much as he could so as to avoid the claws, Robin attacked with his bo-staff and kicks.

Beastboy changed into a gorilla and swung his enormous arms at Robin, one swing connected with Robin’s chest, knocking him to the ground. Robin laid there for a little bit, and then rolled out of the way just as Beastboy brought his fist down where his body would have been.

Robin jumped to his feet and kicked Beastboy hard in the head. The massive gorilla fell back a few steps and before he could fully recover, Robin kicked him again, sending him crashing into the wall and then to the ground.

“Simulation over, simulation over, simulation-”

Beastboy stood up and placed a hand on his head, “Hey, it works! My head doesn’t hurt anymore!”

“That’s the idea,” White Wolf said walking up to them.

“White Wolf!” Beastboy exclaimed.

“You’re out of the hospital!” Robin said.

“Yep, and apart from this cast on my arm I’m as good as new.”

“But the simulator wall isn’t.” Wolf Woman said, standing near the wall that Beastboy had crashed into. It had a huge crack in it.

White Wolf walked over to it. “It doesn’t look all that bad; we can fix this in about an hour.” White Wolf ran her good hand over the crack. “I’ll go get some tools to fix it,” she said, turning around.

“White Wolf!” Robin exclaimed.

“What?”

“Look at where the crack was!”

“Was?” White Wolf turned around and looked at the wall. The crack was gone. “What happened?”

“You ran your hand over it and the crack was gone!” Beastboy said.

White Wolf looked at her hand, “Huh?” Her mind raced back to when the spoon got stuck to her bowl. “Get me two small, unimportant things,” she said.

Beastboy ran out of the simulator and came back with two pens. He handed them to White Wolf.

She grabbed them both in one hand and closed her fingers over them. When she opened her hand the two pens were stuck together.

“The pens have been fused together!” Wolf Woman exclaimed, “but how?”

“It must be from the fusion beam.” White Wolf said, “The doctor said that there was still something weird in my blood. That must be what enables me to do this!”

“Wow!” Robin said.

“Cool!” Beastboy said.

White Wolf looked at the pens in her hand, and then looked at her broken wrist thoughtfully. She took off the cast and grabbed her wrist.

All of the others watched her silently. Then, after almost a minute, White Wolf let go of her wrist and bent it. No pain shot through her body. “It’s healed!”

“Really?” Wolf Woman asked excitedly.

“Yes, the broken bones in my wrist have been fused back together!” White Wolf said.

“This is so cool,” said Wolf Woman, “You have fusion power!”

White Wolf laughed, “I can’t believe it!”

“That’s so amazing!” Robin agreed.

“So it’s totally healed?” Beastboy asked.

“Yes, I think so. But I’ll wait a day or two before using it again fully, just to be safe.”

“Good idea.” Robin said.

“Until then, I have to show everyone!” White Wolf ran out of the room.

“You don’t think she’s excited, do you?” Beastboy asked.

“Nah.”

“What makes you think that?”

Julia and Cassandra walked into their church. Raven, dressed in normal clothes, walked beside Julia. Julia had introduced her to Cassie a few hours before and they had invited Raven to their Youth Group. At first, Raven had resisted. If she went she might have blown Julia’s identity, plus she complained that she wouldn’t know anyone there. Julia quickly pointed out that there were at least seven other Heroes that went there. And once Raven put on some normal clothes she didn’t look very different at all. So she consented.

Cassie went off in the direction of some of her friends, while Julia and Raven looked around for their friends. They found Barbara and William and joined in their conversation. Soon, other friends came and joined them, some were Heroes, and some weren’t. But no matter who they were, they welcomed Raven to the Youth Group.

Later, after Youth Group, Raven and Julia talked alone a bit.

“So,” Julia said, “How did you like Youth Group?”

“It was great! Thank-you for inviting me!”

“What did you like best?”

“Well, the mixer game was fun, and it helped me to meet a few new people.”

“Would you like to come again next week? It would be a big help as you’re getting started as a Christian.”

“Yes, I’d like that a lot.”

“Great!”

“Come on, Julia!” Cassie came up from behind them, “Dad’s here, we need to go.”

“Okay. Bye, Raven!”

“Yeah, bye. It was good to meet you!” Cassie said.

“It was good to meet you too. I’ll see you both later!”

Julia and Cassie walked outside towards the car. As she walked, Julia prayed silently.

“Thank-you God for helping me to witness to her! I’m so glad that she accepted You as her Savior! And that she’s going to keep coming to Youth Group!

“Also, thank-you for helping Janelle to get better. Please help her to use her new gift for you. Please help William’s leg to fully heal. He looked fine today, but he ran a little slow during the game. So please help it to heal the rest of the way.

“I love You. Amen.”

“Are we all in agreement as to what must be done to counteract our foes?”

All of the Super-Villains in the room nodded.

“Good.” Lex Luthor said, “We will call ourselves the new Legion of Doom, after the first group of Villains to ever work together. With every single Villain on earth here, we will be unstoppable.”

The rest of the Villains cheered.

“But first we must get rid of the new Super Friends. And I have the perfect plan to do so!

He continued, “They have made a huge error by creating the C.F.M.C., for once we get our hands on it, we will be able to destroy them all!”

Once again, all Villains cheered.

“To help me in leading this life-mission, I give you my second-in-command: Leo the Lion!”

Leo went up to the front and said, “My master has told me that we’ve lost Raven. She has fully joined the other side in accepting Christianity,” he spat out the last word. “But thanks to my master’s controlling her for a short amount of time, we have enough money to get us started out. And don’t worry about this minor set-back; my master still has plans for her; he’s just waiting for the right moment.”

At this all of the Villains yelled out a battle cry. Then Leo yelled at the top of his lungs, “We will destroy them!”

"Tune in" next week for the first chapter of my next story in the Wolf Woman series, "The C.F.M.C."

Chapter 21
Fusion

Wolf Woman and Raven appeared back in the hospital room, both dripping wet. They both squinted at the brightness of earth. All eyes in the room turned to look at them.

“You’re back!” Robin said.

“What happened?” Grey Wolf asked, looking over their wet clothes and hair.

“I went to my planet to answer a cry for help.” Raven said, “It turned out to be a false alarm.”

“When I saw her start to leave I grabbed her hand and got taken to her world too.” Wolf Woman said.

“And I’m so glad that you did.” Raven said smiling at Wolf Woman. “Tell them, Wolf Woman.”

“Raven has accepted Jesus as her Savior!”

“Really?” Grey Wolf said, “That’s wonderful news, Raven!”

“Welcome to the family, Raven!” Robin said.

“That’s just what I’ve been praying for, for months now!”

Everyone turned to see White Wolf being pushed into the room in the wheelchair.

“Thank-you for not giving up, White Wolf,” Raven said.

“God truly does answer prayer.” Robin said.

“Yes, He does!” Wolf Woman exclaimed. “So how’s your arm, White Wolf?”

“Her wrist is broken,” the nurse said, “but it will mend in a couple of months. Until then she needs to wear a cast.” Once White Wolf was back in the hospital bed, the nurse turned towards Wolf Woman and Raven, “What happened to you two? Never mind, don’t answer. I’ll get you some towels.” With that, she left the room.

“Looks like I won’t be able to fight crime for a few months.” White Wolf said sadly. “I’ll miss that.”

“And we’ll miss you out there!” Grey Wolf said.

“Thanks,” she said.

The door opened and the nurse came back in with a cart and a tray with two towels, some soup, and a glass of water on it. She handed the towels to Wolf Woman and Raven, then she turned to White Wolf, “Here’s your lunch, and if you guys are hungry too there’s a cafeteria on the second floor.” The nurse left the room again.

Once Raven and Wolf Woman were done drying off, Grey Wolf got up, “Well, I’m hungry, how about you guys?”

“Yeah, I am.” Wolf Woman said.

“Me too,” said Raven.

“Me three.”

“You don’t mind if we go get something to eat, do you?” Grey Wolf asked.

“No, go ahead, just come back soon!” White Wolf said.

“Okay.”

The four teens left the hospital room and went to the cafeteria, where they all ate quickly. Then they all went back into White Wolf’s room.

White Wolf hadn’t even finished eating her meal. “Wow guys,” she said, “You were really fast!”

“Yeah,” Wolf Woman said, “I guess we were.”

“We just missed you terribly.” Grey Wolf said.

“Oh yeah, right!”

“Well, we did. Right guys?”

The others nodded their heads.

White Wolf smiled, “Thanks guys, but really. You didn’t have to rush. I’m not helpless.”

“You’re just bed-ridden with a broken wrist.” Grey Wolf said.

“Exactly.” White Wolf grabbed the spoon and tried to pick up more soup with it, but it was stuck to the bowl. “Hmm, that’s weird.”

“What’s weird, White Wolf?” Raven asked.

“Well, I let go of the spoon and let it rest on the bowl while I was talking to you guys, and now I can’t get it off.” White Wolf pulled harder.

“Here, let me try,” Robin walked over, grabbed the spoon and pulled. It wouldn’t come off, “Grey Wolf, you’re stronger, maybe you can.”

Grey Wolf grabbed the spoon and pulled until finally the spoon came off. But the place it had been stuck to looked weird, like it had melted. The spoon looked like that too.

“Whoa,” Wolf Woman said, “did you do anything to the spoon or bowl, White Wolf?”

“No,” she said, “I just set it down and then it was stuck.”

Raven looked at the bowl and the spoon, “Well, they were melted together, but there’s no heater over here, and even if there were I don’t think that it would be hot enough to melt the metal spoon and the glass bowl!”

“Look around the room, guys.” Robin said, “See if anything else looks melted.”

They all did, but nothing else looked the way that the bowl and spoon did. “Oh well,” Wolf Woman said, “We couldn’t find anything. Maybe it was like that before.”

“But I used the spoon, it wasn’t stuck before!”

“Well, I don’t know what to tell you, White Wolf.” Robin said.

Soon everyone was back in a conversation and White Wolf ate more of her soup. Nothing strange happened again.

Raven hadn’t been able to sleep for the past three hours and now it was slightly past midnight. She’d thinking about what had happened in the last twenty-four hours.

Raven got up and walked over to her bookshelf. She pulled out a book and looked through the pages until she got to the right prophecy.

One’s powers bring terror and fear
Starting at a young age
A dark mentor will come to her
Light as his masquerade

But thanks to one she’ll see true Light
And power from above
She who was once rejected
Finally will find Love

I was right! This prophecy fits me perfectly! So what do I do now? I guess I’ll have to wait until I find the other two from the prophecy.

And what about Wolf Woman? She’s in the prophecy too; not a main person, but she’s the “one” that helped me to see the “true Light”. Plus, when she held my hand as I was flying us all to the hospital I felt more power, as if she somehow gave me some of her own strength! I have a feeling that there’s more to her than meets the eye!

Jan. 27, 2009 - Chapter 20, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

“We’re here,” Raven said.

Julia stopped at the steps of the huge building. The rest of the city had looked very modern, but the temple looked like something out of Ancient Greece!

Raven started walking up the steps, and then she noticed that Julia wasn’t following. “Are you coming?”

Julia took a deep breath and said, “Yes.”

The two girls walked up the steps and into the main room of the temple. Once they got to the top, Julia saw alters all around the room, some with fresh blood on them. She also saw people kneeling in front of the alters, some looked like they were in a trance.

Raven walked right past everything straight to the back of the room. Julia stayed with her, half grateful that she didn’t have time for a closer look at the happenings there.

When they got to the back of the room, Raven stopped and looked at a man who was in about his late thirties. His hood was off and Julia could see what looked like a crown on his head. Raven kneeled before him, but Julia only nodded politely.

The man looked straight at Raven, “Raven, you’ve returned. I thought you were gone for good,” he said with little emotion. Then he looked at Julia, showing little surprise at her brightness, “But who is this rude, bright earth-dweller? Does she not know that there are penalties for not kneeling before the king?”

Raven spoke slowly, “I apologize, my king. She is new here, and doesn’t know our customs.”

He looked over Julia again, “And does the earth-dweller have a name?” his question directed at Julia.

Julia heard Raven’s voice inside her head, “Don’t tell him your real name. Tell him Wolf Woman, nothing more.”

“I am Wolf Woman, a friend of Raven’s,” she answered him.

“I see.” he said, “And do all earth-dwellers glow with this accursed brightness?” this question was directed at Raven.

“I don’t know,” she replied, “She never did before she came here. Maybe all humans glow when they are here, or maybe she’s different in some way. I don’t know.”

“Hmm,” he thought aloud, “maybe there’s a spiritual difference in her. For when a spirit is in us we glow black, but maybe earth-dwellers glow white?”

Julia seemed to grow taller and her brightness grew. Words came to her and flowed through her mouth, though they were not her own, “You are right when you say that, O king. Right in that the One who is in me is different from those who are in you. I, alone, am the same as you, all who are on this planet, my own, and everywhere else. But I am not alone, I have the power of the Holy Spirit living in me, and He is more powerful than any spirit that you serve here. He is not dark, but shines the purest white!

“If I had come here once, long ago, I would have been as dark as you are here. But my darkness has been washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ, making me white as snow!”

At the name of Jesus, the ground underneath them shook, and all alters in the temple cracked.

“Thus says the Lord, whom I serve, ‘cast away your idols, turn away from your lives of sin, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near and coming soon.’”

Julia’s brightness faded to what it had been before, and she seemed to become her normal height.

The king’s eyes were wide with fear; even Raven had backed away at the force of what she had said.

After a minute of silence, the king stood, “Raven, what have you done bringing this girl here? She has a dangerous spirit in her, she will destroy us all!” the king reached over and grabbed his sword. He walked over to Julia, who stood unflinching. He raised his sword high and swung it at Julia’s neck.

The king looked at her in shock, Julia still stood there, unmoved and unhurt; and the sword was broken in two. A black energy field surrounded the whole right side of her body. Both Julia and the king looked over at Raven, who then took away the energy field she’d made. “What do you mean, ‘a dangerous spirit’? All your life you’ve been trying to get in contact with the spirit world, and then someone comes who speaks on behalf of a Spirit. And then you try to kill her?”

Again he yelled, “The spirit in her is dangerous, she will destroy us!” He looked straight at Julia and his black energy flowed from him towards her. Raven got in front of Julia and blocked the attack with her energy, “Give it up,” she said through clenched teeth, “You know I’m much stronger than you!”

He pulled back his attack and yelled, “Raven, you have been corrupted by her, but I know that you can and will come to your senses. Take her away, back to her world. If you come back, you might be accepted, but she will not be. Do you understand?”

“Yes,” she glared at him, “I do.”

Raven grabbed Julia’s hand and they walked out of the temple. Rain poured down, but they continued walking until they were out of the city; back out to the hill that they had first come to.

“Julia?” Raven said, “I could tell that those were not your words. Did God speak through you there?”

“Yes, He did.”

“And they wanted to kill you for it. Those stubborn hypocrites! They’ve spent their whole lives looking for signs from the spirit world. But when they hear from God Himself they try to kill the one He spoke through!

“Julia, I too have spent my whole life looking for something from the spirit world. I thought I’d found it in my friend, but it was all a lie. I have nothing left. I’m empty. Despite my powers I’m weak.”

“As am I, Raven. We are all nothing without God.”

“Julia, I want to follow and trust Him so much. But I’ve done so many terrible things. And not just the bank robberies either, there's so much you don't know about my past. Will God even take me after I’ve done so much against Him? And will He take someone who is not from Earth?”

“Raven,” Julia said, “I don’t know all of the answers. But I do know this: God loves you, no matter where you’re from, and He’ll take you always. No matter what you’ve done, no matter what you do or will do, He will take you. All you have to do is ask.”

“Then help me, Julia.” Raven said, “Help me to ask Him. What do I do? Tell me everything.”

“Well, everyone has done things that are against God’s law, and that’s called sin. God is so holy that He can’t be around sin, so now we’re all separated from Him. But God still loves us, and He wants to be with us. So He sent His Son, Jesus, to take our punishment for our sins. He died a horrible death in our place so that we can be with God. So now, if we accept His gift, He will be with us in life, and when we die we can be with God in heaven forever. Does this make sense?”

Raven nodded, “What do I tell Him?”

“Just tell Him that you’re sorry for the wrong things you’ve done and that you want Him to be the Lord of your life.”

Raven nodded and the two of them knelt on the wet ground, their hair dripping wet, their clothes heavy from the water. But they didn’t care.

“God, thank-you for showing me that I need You and for not giving up on me. I’m sorry for all of the wrong things that I’ve done throughout my life, and I’m sorry for loving Your enemy and for doing what he told me. I believe that You sent your Son to take my punishment for these things. Please come and be the Lord of my life.”

Julia lifted her head and opened her eyes to look at Raven. Raven tilted her own head up and their eyes met.

Julia smiled, “Raven, you’re shining bright as the sun!”

“Really?” Raven asked.

“Yes,” she replied, “You’ve become a candle in the dark.”

The girls embraced, full of joy at Raven’s new life.

Jan. 20, 2009 - Chapter 20, Part 1 - Entry File: How It All Started

Chapter 20
Dark World

Raven sat in her chair quietly, thinking deeply to herself about the last few days’ happenings: the talks she’d had with Wolf Woman and Robin, White Wolf almost dying, the bank robberies, the demon taking over her body, and the void that she’d had her whole life suddenly expanding to engulf her in loneliness and despair. She saw what she wanted in the Wolf Pack, Robin, and a few others in the Teen Titans, and she knew that it was God that she needed, but she had her doubts.

What if she was totally wrong? What if she was just being a fool? And worst of all, what if it was true and she was too far gone?

What am I doing just sitting here thinking about it? She asked herself, There are three people here in this room that can answer my questions, if I just swallow my pride and ask them!

Raven stayed quiet, building up her courage. The others were talking and laughing, but she didn’t pay attention to what they were doing. She needed to focus on what she needed to do, she needed to build up her courage, she needed to-

“Raven!”

“What? Who are you?”

“Your home world needs you! They’re all dying! We’re all dying!”

“Who is this?”

“A friend. Help-,” the telepathic transmission was cut off.

Raven didn’t recognize the voice that cried for help, but the call was urgent. Plus, Raven was a master at telepathy, she’d know if this were a trick.

I need to go, now!

____________________

Wolf Woman was absorbed by the conversation that she and the guys were having, but she noticed that Raven hadn’t talked at all. She looked over to see if she was okay, her eyes widened in surprise.

Raven was surrounded by her black energy, and almost looked like she was disappearing.

“Get next to her, grab her hand, fast!”

Wolf Woman obeyed the feeling without hesitation, even though she didn’t fully understand why she should, or even why she did. She ran over to Raven and grabbed her hand.

Darkness engulfed her, and for a little while it felt like she’d fallen asleep, but then her vision cleared and she saw something she hadn’t expected.

Instead of the now-familiar hospital room, Wolf Woman found herself on a hill at twilight, which overlooked a city. She suddenly felt like she’d been there before. I know why, it’s because it looks so much like Gotham City, except more advanced.

“What’d you do that for?”

Wolf Woman jumped at the voice, and then turned to look at Raven, “I don’t know, I had a feeling, and I felt that I had to grab your hand.”

Raven turned to look at Wolf Woman, and jumped back in surprise, her eyes were widened in fear and awe.

“What is it, Raven? What’s wrong?”

“You’re surrounded by a white light, Wolf Woman! You look just like you did when the demon took over my body! But why? Do I look okay?”

“Yes, Raven, you look fine, normal. But I wonder why I’m surrounded by light. I can’t see it.”

“Really?” Raven asked, “It really stands out, especially here amongst the darkness of Azarath.”

“Azarath? You mean this is your world?”

“Yes, and, like it or not, you’re stuck here until I can take you back. But I can’t do that right now, I need to get to the city!” And with that, Raven turned and ran to the city.

Wolf Woman ran after her, “What’s the rush?”

“I don’t know exactly; I got a telepathic message saying that everyone was in trouble, dying.”

“But everything looks fine from here.”

“I know, but not everything is as it seems, especially here.” Raven stopped running, and Wolf Woman stopped beside her. “You know, unless I’m the only one who can see it, you’re going to freak everyone out with that light engulfing you. You’d better stay outside the city.”

“Oh no you don’t! I don’t know why, but I was supposed to come with you here, and now I’m not leaving you. I don’t care if everyone stares at me!”

Raven sighed, “Fine, let’s go then.”

After five minutes of running, the girls made it to the city. Julia looked around; this wasn’t what a city in trouble should look like; people everywhere, all calm, or as calm as you can be walking down a street.

As Julia surveyed the area, she saw that most of the people there looked about like Raven. There were differences of course, but everyone wore black or some other dark color, and a hooded cape, some with their hoods on, and some with them off. Their skin was a pale-gray, like Raven’s, and everyone’s hair was black, purplish or a really dark brown. No one smiled, no one frowned; everyone had a straight, dullish face.

This place is weird. Everything looks and feels depressing, especially now at night. No wonder Raven acts like she does, she grew up in nothing but this!

Julia and Raven walked through the streets; everyone who saw them turned and stared at them, especially Julia. Some even jumped and ran away! I guess in such a dark place, light can be scary.

“So Raven,” Julia said, “Why is everyone walking around so much at night?”

“Night?” Raven asked her, confused. “Oh, you’ve never been here before, I forgot. This is about 2 in the afternoon, Julia.”

“What? But it’s so dark!”

“That’s the way it is around here, you should see the night here. Pitch black.”

“I believe it if this is the afternoon!”

They walked a bit more in silence, but then Julia wondered, “Raven, if you don’t mind my asking, why did you leave your world and come to Earth?”

Raven sighed, “It’s complicated. Let’s just say, I don’t fully fit in here and everyone knows it.”

“But why Earth?”

“It was mostly my spirit friend’s idea.”

“I see,” Julia nodded. “So, where are we going?”

“It seems like everything’s okay here, but I want to make sure. So we’re going to see the ruler of the planet.”

“Oh, okay. So how long till we get there?”

“We’ll get to the temple in about two more minutes.”

“Temple?”

“Yeah, he spends most of his time there, communicating with the spirit world.”

This last bit of information made Julia a little uneasy. Should she go into a temple that was for demons? She looked slightly up into the gray sky as she walked and prayed, “God, please help me. I know that You want me here for a reason, but I don’t know if I should go in there. So I will go unless You stop me somehow. Please be with me, and help Raven to see how much she needs You, please help me to be a good witness to her. In Your name, amen.”

Jan. 13, 2009 - Chapter 19, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

“There’s the cabin,” Wolf Woman said excitedly.

“Yeah,” Robin said, “Raven, can you tell how many people are in there?”

Raven looked over at the cabin and concentrated hard, trying to sense how many people there were, “Two, maybe three, but no more.”

“Good, then we can probably take them without any back-up!” Wolf Woman said.

“Let’s go!” said Robin.

The three teens crept up to the building. There was a front door and a back door. Raven circled around to the back while Wolf Woman and Robin went to the front door.

Robin held up three fingers and silently counted down to zero, and then he and Wolf Woman burst through the door. Rabies and two other people looked up at them.

Rabies stood up, “How’d you find us?” he yelled.

“We have our sources,” Wolf Woman said.

“Now, either come with us willingly or we will have to use force.” Robin said.

Rabies laughed, “Right, it’s three-to-two in our favor. There’s no chance of us surrendering.”

Then Raven blew in the back door with her powers, knocking over the one dressed in blue. “How about now, Rabies?” She picked up the poor blue guy with her mind and harshly set him back on his feet, “Or do you still think that you can win?”

“I’ll never surrender,” he said, “I’ll go down fighting!” He drew a gun from his belt and shot at Robin, who lifted up his bulletproof cape to deflect the bullet. Only it wasn’t a bullet, it was a syringe filled with a weird-looking liquid. He shot it again and again at Robin and Wolf Woman, but between his cape and her shield, it was to no avail.

Meanwhile, Raven picked up both of the Minions with her mind and threw them against the wall, knocking them both out.

Once Rabies was out of ammo, Robin and Wolf Woman attacked him, and they quickly overpowered him. “Let’s go, pal.” Robin said to Rabies, “You have a buddy waiting for you at the jail.”

Raven picked up the big gun, “I’ll take this back to Dr. Greene while you two take them to jail. See you back at the hospital.”

“Father,” Grey Wolf prayed aloud, his hand over White Wolf’s, “I don’t know what Your plan is with this, but I do know that You work all things together for good for those who love You. And Janelle is definitely one of those,” he got quiet when he said her name. “Please, bring her back to us, but not my will, but Your will be done.”

Grey Wolf kept his head bowed and said quietly, “I love you, my sister.” He was silent, praying in his head for her, when he felt her hand turn and grasp his. Grey Wolf looked up and saw her eyes open.

White Wolf smiled and said quietly, “It’s normally considered rude to wake someone up, but this time I’ll make an exception.”

Grey Wolf smiled, “Thank-you, God!” “Well, I’m glad that you’re not mad at me, cause, knowing you, you’d jump out of bed and attack me if you were. I don’t think that’d be good for you at this time!”

White Wolf laughed, “Or for you!” White Wolf surveyed the room, “Where’s Wolf Woman?”

“She’s with Robin and Raven, trying to capture Rabies. I should call them and tell them that you’re awake.”

“You found Raven?”

“No, she found you and Wolf Woman, and not a moment too soon!”

“That’s good. I hope that she’ll stay this time so that we can help her.”

“Me too,” he said, picking up his radio.

But just as he turned it on, the door opened, “We got them! Rabies and the two others are in jail.” Wolf Woman said, walking through the door. Then she saw White Wolf, “White Wolf! You’re awake! You’re all right!” She ran over to the side of the bed and hugged her friend.

Robin and Raven came in behind her. Robin came over and squeezed her hand, while Raven knelt next to the bed, saying nothing but obviously happy.

“So what happened to you?” Wolf Woman asked.

“Well, I went to investigate the Lab and got some information from Dr. Greene. Then I went outside and stood there, wondering which direction I should go. But then I heard raised voices and I followed them into an alley. There I found Rabies and two others who were with him. I fought them, but in the process I hurt my wrist--I think that it’s broken--and I got shot by the fusion beam that they’d stolen. And then I woke up here. And what about you guys, how’d you find me? And how did the hunting for Rabies turn out?”

Grey Wolf started by telling her how his mission went, and then Wolf Woman and Robin took turns in telling her what had happened afterwards, but Raven stayed silent during the whole thing.

“Wow,” White Wolf said, “So I guess that this day was a rather exciting one, wasn’t it?”

“Yep,” Robin agreed, “It sure was!”

White Wolf winced in pain.

“Are you okay?” Robin asked her.

“Yeah,” she replied, “it’s just my wrist; it hurts a little.”

“I’ll go get someone to look at it for you,” Wolf Woman said.

“No need, I have the magic button. You press it and…” White Wolf pressed the button, “Pretty soon someone will come in here yelling at Grey Wolf for pushing the button, and then they’ll start in surprise and say, ‘You’re awake!’”

Grey Wolf laughed, “Yeah, something like that!”

A nurse came into the room, “Why’d you push the button?” she asked the standing teens sternly, “Is it really an emergency?”

“No,” White Wolf said, “I just wanted you to look at my wrist; I think that it’s broken.”

The nurse jumped in surprise, “You’re awake?”

The teens broke out into laughter as the nurse looked at them confused. But she decided that it was just some teenage thing that she really didn’t want to have explained to her, so she went over and pressed on White Wolf’s wrist to check for broken bones.

White Wolf breathed in sharply as the nurse pressed on her wrist.

“Did that hurt?”

“Yes,” White Wolf replied to the nurse, “a bit.”

“Well, it feels broken, but we’ll have to get it x-rayed to make sure. I’ll call for a wheel chair for you.”

“No, that’s okay,” White Wolf said, pulling off the covers “I can walk.”

“No you can’t!” the nurse said sternly, “you just woke up from a three hour unconsciousness, and you’ve lost a lot of blood; you will not overexert yourself!”

“Fine,” White Wolf muttered.

They waited for a few minutes while the nurse got the wheelchair. Then the nurse took White Wolf out of the room.

Chapter 19
Finding Rabies

Wolf Woman and Raven sat next to White Wolf’s bed; the only noise in the room was the slow, but steady, beep of the heart monitor.

Finally, Wolf Woman broke the silence, “How did you find us, Raven?”

“I don’t know,” she replied, “I was about a mile away, when I felt this pulling, not physical pulling, but like something telling me that I had to get somewhere fast. I followed the feeling, and it led me to you two.”

“Thank-you, Father,” Wolf Woman silently prayed, “I’m so glad that you followed it, if you hadn’t, White Wolf might be dead right now.”

“Yeah, and I was really relived to see that my powers still work fully.”

“What do you mean?”

Raven looked over at Wolf Woman, “I haven’t talked to him ever since he took over my body. He’s tried to make contact, but I’ve ignored him. I’ve felt freer without him, but I was scared that some of my power might go away. So far it seems that I have it with or without him.”

“That’s good; that you haven’t talked to him, and that you still have your powers!”

“Yeah, but I wonder if it will be enough to save her,” she said looking at White Wolf. A tear formed in her eye, she turned so that Wolf Woman wouldn’t see, “W-what if she dies, Wolf Woman? She’s in pretty bad condition; what if she doesn’t come out of it?”

Wolf Woman sighed and looked away. “She’s prepared to die,” she said.

Raven turned to look at her, “How can you say that? How can you be so insensitive? How can you see this and be okay?” she nearly yelled.

Wolf Woman turned towards Raven, tears streaming down her cheeks, “I never said that I was okay! Do I look okay?” She took a deep breath, and then said, “And I’m not being insensitive. But if she dies, she won’t be the one who’s hurt; and every tear that I shed will be for myself because I miss her. She won’t really be gone forever; she’ll be in the arms of the One who loves her enough to die for her.”

“I don’t see the way you see, Wolf Woman. I can’t see it.” More tears flowed down Raven’s cheeks, but she didn’t try to hide them anymore. “Why would God let this happen?”

“Raven,” Wolf Woman placed her hand over Raven’s, “I won’t pretend to know everything, because I don’t. But God loves her more than we do, more than anyone else ever could. If He takes her home to be with Him then it’s a part of His plan.”

“And how do you know this? How do you know that there is a God, or a heaven?”

“Father, please give me Your words.” “There’s evidence of God all around you. You can’t look at a flower, see a sunrise, or see the complexity of anything alive and not know that God made them.”

“Maybe, but why would He let bad things happen?”

“He didn’t want bad things to happen, and nothing bad happened at first. When God made man he gave them a choice. He gave them one rule, to not eat the fruit of one tree in the Garden of Eden. It was just one rule, but we broke it and then bad things started happening. God is always in control, but He doesn’t make us robots. We still can do bad things, but God has the power to use the bad things that happen for good.”

“Julia, maybe this all works for you, being from Earth and all, but I don‘t see how it can work for me. I’m not from here. You say that your ‘Jesus’ came to Earth and saved you, but that was for Earth, not Azarath, not Krypton, not anything else.”

Julia blinked. She had no answer. I know that God made everything. I know that He loves everyone. But how does this work?

Just then the door opened slightly and Robin stuck his head through the crack, “Can we come in?”

“Of course,” Wolf Woman said. Wolf Woman didn’t hide the fact that she’d been crying, but Raven quickly wiped the tears off her cheeks so that the guys wouldn’t see them.

Robin walked in followed by Grey Wolf, who was on crutches.

“What happened, Grey Wolf?” Wolf Woman asked.

“I got shot in the leg during a fight at the Woodsville museum. But I’m okay now, I’ll just need these crutches for two or three days.” he said, “But what happened to White Wolf?”

“I don’t know. I went to where she’d last been seen and went where God told me to, and then I saw her laying there unconscious and bleeding. Then Raven got there and she closed up the wound and we rushed her to the hospital.”

“God talked to you?” Raven asked.

“Well,” she said, “I asked Him for help to know where she was and then I felt this tugging. I followed it and there she was. My only explanation is that God lead me to her.”

“A tugging?”

“Yes, a lot like what you said you felt, Raven. Maybe God was telling you where to go too.”

Raven looked away, seeing facts that she didn’t want to believe were true. “I wonder what she got shot with,” she said, changing the subject, “It wasn’t a bullet, but what was it then?”

“I don’t know,” Wolf Woman said. “But finding that out might save her.” She stood up, “I’m going to do some investigating and find out. Anyone want to come and help?”

“But shouldn’t someone stay with White Wolf?” Raven asked.

“I will,” Grey Wolf said, “I need to stay here anyways, and I wouldn’t be of much help on crutches.”

“Okay, then I’ll come.” Robin said.

“So will I,” Raven stood up, “Where should we start?”

“At the museum, where else?” Wolf Woman said, “Radio us if anything happens, Grey Wolf.”

“As long as you do the same,” he replied, “I want to know who’s behind this, even if I don’t get to kick his butt yet!”

____________________

“Thanks, Dr. Greene,” Robin said, “You’ve been a lot of help!”

The three Heroes walked out of the Science Lab, “So, White Wolf probably got shot by that fusion beam that they were working on.” Wolf Woman said, “But since it’s so new they probably won’t know what will help her.”

“But just in case, I’ll call Grey Wolf and tell him. Maybe they can do something.” Robin walked away from the girls to radio Grey Wolf.

“Okay,” Raven said, “so the people who stole the fusion beam were dressed in all-black, all-blue, and the leader was dressed in brown with a poison sign on the front.”

“Sounds like Rabies,” Wolf Woman said, “but who were the other two?”

“And how will we find them?”

“I don’t know,” said Robin, who was walking back toward them, “But maybe the Poacher will know. He’s in jail, so we can get to him, and he’s a part of Leo’s team, as is Rabies.”

“Sounds good,” Wolf Woman said.

They started walking to the jail when Robin asked a question, “So Raven, you robbed a few banks in your sleep. So what happened to the money?”

“I honestly don’t know.” She replied, “After finding out that I did it I searched my room and any other place that I could think of that I would hide something in, but I didn’t find it, or anything that would give me a clue!”

____________________

“Why would I want to give you information?” Poacher asked, “What’s in it for me?”

“Well, we can’t set you free, but we can shorten your jail time considerably.” Robin said.

“I’ll be getting out of here soon anyways; Leo and the others will come for me. No deal!”

“Well then how about-” Wolf Woman started to say.

“I’m not ratting on anybody.” Poacher declared.

“How about this?” Raven said, “You tell us what we want, or get the information yanked out of your mind!” Her black energy pulsed around her, making her threat even more menacing.

Wolf Woman and Robin looked at each other, both surprised by Raven’s ferocity. Poacher cringed, “Okay, I’ll tell you! He’s hiding out in the back room of the Gotham City Library.”

Wolf Woman felt that he was wasn't telling the truth and Raven said what she’d been thinking, “Liar!”

Poacher grabbed his head in pain, “Okay, I’ll tell you, just stop!” Once the pain was gone he said, “They’re hiding out in an old cabin in the nearby forest. I don’t know exactly where, I’ve never been there, but he’s there.”

Raven turned and walked away, satisfied with his answer. Robin and Wolf Woman followed her out.

“Wow, Raven,” Wolf Woman said once outside, “You were…”

“Vicious.” Robin finished.

“I know,” she replied, “I just can’t help myself sometimes. I get mad and I can’t hold myself back. That’s one of the reasons that I left.”

“Everyone gets mad,” Wolf Woman reassured her, “We just need to learn to control that anger.”

“Control,” Raven said sadly, “Something that you guys have in abundance, but I don’t.”

“You’d be surprised,” said Robin, “I have control in anything but abundance. Remember when I was obsessed with Slade?”

Raven nodded.

“Well, that all happened before I became a Christian. By myself I still can’t control my anger, but now that I have God with me He helps me to control it, and not let it control me.”

Raven was silent for while, then she changed the subject, “So, let’s go to the forest and find Rabies.” she started walking in the direction of the forest.

Robin and Wolf Woman followed her, both silently praying for Raven. She saw that she needed help, but she walked away from the Source every time.

Dec. 29, 2008 - Chapter 18, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

“Is she dead?” Blue Minion, who had fired the shot, asked.

Rabies stood up from feeling White Wolf’s pulse, “No, but there’s barely any pulse. She’s close to death.” For a split second he wanted to get her to a hospital, but the feeling quickly left. Besides, crush or no, she was an enemy. “Grab the gun; let’s get this back to Luthor.”

____________________

“Well, coward, you just stay there wallowing in your fear,” the Poacher said, “While we help ourselves to the antiques and artifacts!”

No one calls Grey Wolf a coward! He growled quietly behind the display case, I don’t care if there’s a bullet in my leg; these guys are going down! Wolves have four legs, humans have two; I’d better stay as a wolf.

Grey Wolf summoned all of his strength and leaped over the display case with a vicious howl. Mr. Freeze shot at him, but missed. Grey Wolf landed on the Poacher and quickly took the gun in his mouth and wrenched it out of his hands. Then he turned towards Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze aimed at Grey Wolf, but then thought better of shooting, for wolves--especially this one--were tricky and fast. Grey Wolf would probably jump out of the way at the last second, freezing Poacher instead of him.

Grey Wolf sat down, still on top of the struggling Poacher, taunting Mr. Freeze. Come on, shoot at me, I dare ya!

Neither of the two moved, each trying to outlast each other. If I can just keep him here long enough hopefully help will come! Grey Wolf thought. But help had better come soon; this bullet needs to come out!

Mr. Freeze waited a bit more, but he got impatient. Who cares if I freeze Poacher? Once I get that wolf I can unfreeze him anyway. Mr. Freeze twitched ever so slightly, and Grey Wolf saw what was coming.

Mr. Freeze fired, Grey Wolf jumped out of the way, and Poacher screamed but stopped abruptly, encased in ice.

Grey Wolf landed awkwardly on his hurt leg and gave out a quick, snappy bark, which, luckily, Mr. Freeze did not recognize as a painful bark. Grey Wolf ran behind one of the few unbroken display cases. One down, but I’m out of tricks!

Julia sat in her parents’ car in the passenger seat. Her Mom was driving her home from the volleyball game. “You did the right thing, Julia.”

“I know. But I still feel bad; it’s my fault that the team won’t be in the play-offs.” Julia replied.

“No, it’s not your fault, Julia.” Mrs. Wolfe said, “It’s not your fault that those girls were breaking the rules, not to mention the law, by taking those drugs. It was your duty to do what you did, Julia…Wolf Woman.”

Julia looked at her Mom and gave a small smile, hearing her Mom call her that was special. The name Julia was better, and she never wanted Wolf Woman to replace it, but it was nice to know that her parents were behind her in her ‘other life’.

They rode in silence for a while, but then Julia got this strange feeling, almost like what she felt when Raven was in trouble, only it wasn’t Raven, it was…Grey Wolf and White Wolf!

“Mom, pull over, stop the car!”

Mrs. Wolfe did as her daughter asked. “What is it, Julia?”

“My friends need me. Don’t ask me how I know, I just do. I need to go; I’ll see you soon, Mom.” And with that, Julia ran out the door.

Julia grabbed her radio as she ran into an alley, “Robin, I need the whereabouts of White Wolf and Grey Wolf.”

“Grey Wolf is at the Woodsville Museum, and I just got a call from White Wolf, she’s looking for Rabies. She was at the Gotham City Science Lab, but I’m not sure if she’s still there. Why, what’s the matter?”

She took off her outer clothes as she talked, “Robin, please don’t ask questions about how I know, but I know that both of them are in trouble. I can’t get to both of them in time so I need you to go to Grey Wolf, I’ll join you if I can but I need to go to White Wolf first.”

“All right, Wolf Woman.”

“And, Dick.” she called him by his name.

“What, Jules?”

“Be careful.”

“You too. Out.”

Wolf Woman pushed a button on her utility belt as she ran. Soon her Wolf Board flew next to her and she jumped on; she needed all the speed she could get and she couldn’t call her cycle in the same way.

She flew a couple yards over people’s heads as she made her way to Gotham City. Then, after two more minutes, she finally made it to the Science Lab. She looked around and didn’t see anything. “Father, please help me find her. You’ve told me that she needed help, now please help me to find her.”

Wolf Woman waited until she felt something tugging at her to go to her left. She followed this tugging into a nearby alley, where she saw White Wolf laying motionless on the ground with blood trickling from a wound on her chest.

“Oh no!” Wolf Woman ran to her friend. She tore a piece off the bottom of her pant leg and held it over the wound. She felt White Wolf’s pulse; she was still alive, but barely. “God, help me!” she prayed aloud, “I have to hold this here or she’ll bleed to death, but she needs to get to a hospital!”

“Maybe I can help.”

Wolf Woman spun around to see a familiar face, “Raven!”

Raven knelt down beside White Wolf, “Take the cloth off of her wound.”

Wolf Woman did as she was told. Raven looked at the wound, “This wasn’t from a bullet. It was some sort of energy beam, but that makes it all the better for us. Without a bullet in there, I can just close the wound with my powers.” Raven placed her hand over White Wolf’s wound and closed her eyes. After ten seconds, Raven lifted her hand, and then sighed in relief, “It worked. But now we need to get her to a hospital. I can take us all. It will be hard, but we need to get her there quick.”

“All right,” Wolf Woman said, “What do we do?”

“Nothing, just don’t panic.” And with that, Raven’s black energy surrounded the three of them and they were lifted into the air.

They started moving fast. After a while Raven looked like she couldn’t handle it much longer.

Wolf Woman grabbed her hand, “Hold on Raven. We’re almost there!”

____________________

Robin parked his cycle next to Grey Wolf’s and rushed into the museum. When he came in he saw Mr. Freeze, who turned to see why the door had opened. After seeing Robin, Mr. Freeze took aim and fired his ice gun. Robin flipped out of the way and ran behind a display case. He made his way around the room, ducking from display case to display case, looking for Grey Wolf.

Mr. Freeze also ran behind display cases, looking for the teens to freeze them. He finally found a wolf hidden behind one, and the wolf’s back was turned to him. The villain aimed his gun and fired, but just before he shot, he was knocked to the ground and his gun harmlessly froze a statue.

Robin hit Mr. Freeze over the head, knocking him out.

The wolf limped over to Robin, “Thanks for the help, but next time try not to cut it so close!”

“I’ll do better,” Robin replied, “Now let’s call the police to get these two in jail and get you to a hospital.”

Dec. 23, 2008 - Chapter 18, Part 1 - Entry File: How It All Started

Chapter 18
White Wolf’s Battle

Meanwhile, White Wolf was on a mission too. There had been a break-in at the Gotham City science lab. She had gotten there too late to stop whatever was happening, but she stayed to try to figure out what the purpose of the break-in had been.

“Have you discovered if anything is missing, Dr. Greene?”

“Yes, I’m afraid so, White Wolf,” the Doctor answered, “You see, we’ve been working on making energy guns for the past few years, fusion beams, to be exact. We’ve just about gotten it to work, but now those robbers have gotten a hold of it. In the wrong hands, if they can finish the work, that technology is very dangerous! They must be found!”

“Can you describe the people you saw taking the guns?”

“Yes, there were three of them. One, who seemed to be the leader, was in a brown suit with a poison sign on the front.”

Rabies, White Wolf thought.

“And the other two,” he continued, “had the exact same outfits as each other, but one was blue and the other was black. Their suits were pants and tank-tops, and they each had a mask that covered the whole top of their heads with two holes for their eyes.”

“Thank-you for your help, Dr. Greene. I’ll try and find those thieves and bring back your stuff for you.” And with that, White Wolf rushed out the door to find Rabies and two other goons.

____________________

Rabies could have been long gone by then, but he wasn’t. He stayed close to the museum to see White Wolf again. Ever since the first time he laid eyes on her he had a crush.

White Wolf walked out the door of the museum, Dang, that girl’s hot! It’s too bad she’s on the wrong side.

Rabies watched as she radioed someone, then she headed in his direction. He ducked farther into the alley with his two helpers.

“What are we still doing here, boss?” the one in blue asked.

“Yeah, we could’ve been miles from here by now,” the one in black complained.

“You know what guys?” Rabies asked, “I’ve been working on this new serum that I invented to use against any Super Friend.” he said casually. Then he turned and grabbed his black dressed companion by his shirt and lifted him up off the ground, “Now, unless you want me to test it on you, you will not question me!” He dropped him and looked at the other guy, “Any Minion who questions me will get that!”

The blue Minion seemed to shrink in size and backed away. Black Minion stayed on the ground, looking up at his leader in fear.

“Hello boys.”

All three spun around to see White Wolf standing in the entry to the alley.

____________________

“You know, if you want to go unnoticed, Rabies, you should start by not talking.”

“What are you gonna do? There’s three of us, and only one of you. I think that that’s a little uneven.”

“You know, you’re right. I’ll wait while you call some of your other friends. Then we can really fight!”

“Yeah, right,” said Blue Minion, “You’re a girl!”

White Wolf, using the springs in her boots for more height, flipped high over the three guys’ heads and landed behind Blue Minion and then she kicked him in the chest, sending him flying a few feet back. “That’s my point!”

Black Minion got up from the ground and charged her. White Wolf waited for the last possible moment and ducked to the left, using her right arm to push him away. Then, as he staggered forward, she turned and pushed him forward hard with her left hand. Black Minion fell flat on his face.

As this was happening, Rabies ran towards her to attack. White Wolf turned in time to see him and she flipped over his head, landing next to Blue Minion, who was attempting to stand. She pushed him over and he crashed into a garbage bin.

Rabies and Black Minion ran at her together. White Wolf jumped, but Rabies grabbed her foot and yanked her to the ground. White Wolf tried to catch herself with her hands, but she landed on only one of her hands, bending it too far back. She cried out in pain and rolled off her hand, clutching her wrist.

Rabies jumped at her, but she rolled out of the way. White Wolf stood up and leaned against a wall, still clutching her hurt wrist. Black Minion ran at her as Rabies got up.

“Wait,” Rabies told Black Minion, “let me.”

Black Minion backed away from White Wolf. Rabies walked towards her. White Wolf tried to scoot along the wall away from him, but he stopped her by putting one of his hands on the wall to her left and the other to her right.

“Why don’t you stick around for a while,” he said with a smile.

White Wolf backed as close to the wall as she could. Rabies brought his face closer to hers. White Wolf resisted, but then smiled with a slight smirk that she hoped Rabies wouldn’t notice. Rabies’ lips were an inch from hers when White Wolf brought up her knee.

Rabies buckled at his middle, and White Wolf started running. She brought out her radio in order to call for help.

“Don’t just stand there gaping,” Rabies yelled at the opened mouthed Minions, “Get her!”

White Wolf was about to call when felt danger behind her and turned. Despite the pain in her wrist, she brought up her arms to use her Wolf Shield as a beam from the fusion gun came towards her. The shield blocked most of it, but some of it hit her in the chest. Even that little bit of fusion energy had enough force to send her to the ground and White Wolf blacked out.

Dec. 15, 2008 - Chapter 17, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Raven lay out on a hill under the stars. She’d been watching them for a few hours, thinking about what she should do. The easiest answer was to go back to her own world, but she’d gotten so used to Earth she knew it would be hard to leave it. Plus, she had no clue if she’d be accepted if she were to go back. Most of her people were scared of her.

Her powers had developed at a startling pace. She was telekinetic by the time she was seven; she’d reached the highest level of telekinesis when she was fourteen. Most of the people on her world only got to be a level K3 (the highest level of telekinesis was K10), and it took them until they were at least in their twenties.

But as she stared at the stars, Raven became very tired, and soon sleep came. But it wasn’t a quiet sleep, she dreamed.

Raven floated in the middle of a large room, meditating. She heard a noise and opened her eyes; little flames started popping up all around her. Soon they became larger.

Raven looked desperately for a way to get out, but there were no doors and no windows. She was trapped.

Raven panicked as smoke and fire filled the room. But then she saw a Being before her.

He looked human, but shone pure white, even brighter than the Wolf Pack had looked to her before. He was so bright that Raven could not look directly at Him. But she could see Him stretch out His hand to her.

His voice sounded familiar, yet at the same time it was a stranger’s voice. But the voice was gentle and kind. He said, “I’m here to help you, Raven. But I only can if you let me.”

Raven was confused, there was no way in, no way out. Yet this being in front of her told her that He would get her out. But how? “Who are you?”

“You know, Raven.”

Raven sat up straight, breathing hard. A dream, she thought. But it seemed so real. Was it…no. He would want nothing to do with darkness, with me. She shook her head, “It was just a dream.”

But she had it a second time that night.

Sat, July 15th, 2056

“All right, girls,” Ms. Watson, the volleyball coach, said. “Today is the day; if we win this game we’re going to the play-offs! Anyi is sick today, so play hard, play tough, and give it your all!”

All of the Wolvesville Predators Volleyball team cheered and went over to the lockers to get ready, while the coach went out to talk to someone from the school newspaper.

“Hey girls,” Lillie, one of the volleyball players, said, “We need to win this game so that we can go to the play-offs, right?”

“Right,” all the other girls nodded their agreement.

“Well, looky what I got my hands on!” Lillie pulled a small container from her locker, “With these, we’re sure to win!”

“Whoa, how’d you get that?” another girl, Mariah, asked.

“I have my sources,” she winked. Everybody knew that her “source” was her boyfriend, who was a junior in high school. “Come on, girls. Let’s whip some butt!”

All but one of the girls stepped forward to accept one of the small pills. Julia held back.

“Girls,” she said, “this is wrong! Do you really think that you need drugs to help you win?”

“Of course, I mean, this is the Woodsville Woodpeckers we’re going up against, and two of them are Superheroes. Even if they can’t use their powers in the game it’ll be really hard to beat them,” Lillie said, “We need all the help we can get, especially since Anyi isn’t here.”

I wish she were; that would make this a whole lot easier. “No girls, it’s wrong.”

None of the others listened, a few of them, including Lillie, had already taken a pill.

“If you don’t stop, I’m going to tell the coach and everybody else!”

“Go ahead,” Lillie taunted, “You know that if we don’t win this game we’ll be done for the season; you also know that if you tell, we’ll be stopped for sure.”

“You don’t have to take them, Julia,” Mariah said, “But don’t get in our way, unless you want to give this whole season away to the Woodsville team!”

Julia thought hard; she wouldn’t take the drugs; that was for sure. But she still had two choices: one, tell the coach and the whole team is out for the rest of the season; or two, don’t tell and probably win the game and go to the play-offs.

Julia prayed silently, “God, this is so hard. I know what I have to do, please give me strength to do it!”

Julia ran out of the room before any of the other girls could stop her. There’s the coach, I have to tell her now!

“Coach!” Julia called, “Ms. Watson!”

“Yes, Julia?”

“Ms. Watson, Lillie and the other girls are taking some sort of drug to help them play better.”

“What?” Ms. Watson turned and ran out to the court giving the time-out signal. A few of the refs came out to see what was wrong. After hearing what she had to say, the refs declared the game canceled.

Hilary and Christina, who were players for the Woodsville team, came over to Julia. “I heard what happened,” Christina said, “That was very brave of you to do that, knowing that your team would be kicked out of the rest of the season!”

“Good job, Wolf Woman,” Hilary whispered to her friend.

“Thanks, guys; it hurts, but I know that I did the right thing.”

____________________

“Thanks a lot, Julia!” Lillie yelled harshly.

“Yeah, if it weren’t for you we’d be in the play-offs.” Mariah shouted.

Other players voiced their agreement.

“Sure, we’d be in the play-offs,” Julia said quietly so that everyone had to get quiet to listen, “But for totally wrong reasons. You guys thought that you needed drugs to win; you didn’t even consider that we were good enough to beat them on our own! I had faith in this team; that we had worked hard enough to have at least a little more self-respect. I was wrong.”

And with those last words, Julia walked away, Wait till Mom and Dad hear what happened today.

“She passed this test, huh? Well, let’s try a different kind of test for the other two!”

“But don’t you need permission to attack them first?”

“SHUT UP! Leave me!”

The dark angel scurried away. When he was out of sight and earshot he muttered, “In other words, yes, he does.”

____________________

“Thanks for your help, Grey Wolf,” the police chief said.

“No problem, always glad to knock the wind out of someone who’s breaking the law.” And with that, Grey Wolf climbed onto his Wolf Cycle and sped away.

He had barely gone a mile when he got a message from Robin, “Grey Wolf, there’s something strange going on at the Woodsville museum. Since you’re nearby, could you check it out?”

“Sure, Robin.”

“Call if you need back-up.”

Grey Wolf turned around and headed in the direction of the museum. He got there in less than three minutes.

On the outside everything looked normal, the gardens were neatly trimmed, bursting with color from the rain they had had yesterday; cars were lined up side-by-side in the parking lot; people were sitting on the benches either talking or reading a book or newspaper.

Whatever is going on must be inside. Grey Wolf thought as he got off his motorcycle. There are windows on the roof, I’ll go up and take a look inside.

Grey Wolf easily jumped up to the roof, and ran to a window. He looked down and saw that everything was still. All of the people stood frozen in place, too scared to move, but what they were scared of he couldn’t see from that window.

He went over to another window and saw two people in costumes, which he recognized as the Poacher and Mr. Freeze. So maybe there’s more to the civilians’ stillness than I originally thought.

Grey Wolf quietly opened the window, and then he jumped in behind the villains. They turned and looked at him, “If you come with me now then I won’t have to hurt you.” Grey Wolf said.

Mr. Freeze brought up his freeze-gun in response and fired at Grey Wolf, who easily evaded the attack, “I guess that’s a no.”

Grey Wolf flipped over Mr. Freeze and kicked him in the back, sending him to the ground. The Poacher pulled out a smallish machine gun and fired at Grey Wolf.

Grey Wolf jumped out of the way of dozens of bullets and used his Wolf-shield to block off a few more, but he stopped when he saw the bullets ricocheting off his shield, I don’t want to hurt any civilians.

He jumped again, trying to escape the bullets, dodging behind a display. I hope whatever I jumped behind isn’t too valuable…, he cringed as he heard glass and other stuff shatter.

The bullets stopped, He’s either reloading, or waiting for me to come out. I’ll use my Wolf hearing and find out if he’s reloading. Grey Wolf listened and heard the sound of…Mr. Freeze sneaking around the display!

Grey Wolf turned into a wolf, ready to pounce at his enemy and hoping that Poacher wouldn’t have enough time to fire before he got behind another display.

Mr. Freeze jumped out from the other side of the display, and aimed his freeze-gun at Grey Wolf, but was surprised when a wolf jumped out at him. Mr. Freeze fell to the ground with a cry, and Grey Wolf hurried to get behind another display.

But he wasn’t fast enough; just as he jumped behind the display case, a bullet hit him in the back right leg. He fought to not yelp in pain, he didn’t want them to know that he was injured. He knew he needed help, but the villains would surely hear him if he used his radio.

“God, I need help, and please hurry,” he prayed silently.

Chapter 17
Spiritual Attacks

Thurs, July 13th, 2056

“…This is the forth bank robbery in the past week like this. Someone somehow got past the hi-tech alarm systems and into the combination vault,” a reporter said on the TV.

“Only I know the combination for that vault,” the man in charge of the bank, Daniel Haynes, said, “I haven’t even told my right-hand man!”

“While the police are investigating this, it has been heard said among them that there is no evidence of fingerprints, or even shoe prints in the bank. They say that it’s almost hopeless to catch whoever has been doing this. Back to you Bob.”

“Thank-you, Alice, and now for today’s weather report. It’s going to be a…” Julia turned off the TV. Time for a little investigation.

“A bank was robbed last night?” Raven paced back and forth in her room, “and it was the same bank that I dreamed about robbing. This is not good!

“No, I didn’t do it, I couldn’t have! Come on Raven, you’re just tired and not thinking straight.” But saying it didn’t make her believe it; it made her realize it all the more. “I will leave, I must! I can’t give a bad name to my friends…partners,” she fixed her words.

“No, you will not go against what I told you!”

“I don’t have to listen to you! I won’t listen! You’ve lied to me! You said that you could make me better!”

“Raven…” the voice warned.

“No!”

“Yes!”

Raven’s vision blackened, the world around her seemed to disintegrate. “No! I thought you were…my…friend…”

Raven collapsed.

Wolf Woman walked down the hall, looking for the other Wolves. She finally found them in the gym, Grey Wolf was working on a weight machine while White Wolf used the gymnastics uneven bars.

“Hey guys,” she walked over to them.

“Hi Wolf Woman,” Grey Wolf said.

“What’s up?” White Wolf asked, after flipping off the bar.

“There was a strange bank robbery that happened last night. I was coming to see if you guys wanted to come with me to investigate.”

“Sure, what are the details?” Grey Wolf stood up from the machine.

“I’ll explain on the way,” she said, opening the door for White Wolf. Then Grey Wolf grabbed the door and held it for Wolf Woman, “Ladies first.”

She smiled and walked through.

As they walked, Wolf Woman told her teammates the details of the robbery, until something stopped her. Raven? “Guys, we need to turn around. We need to go back toward Raven’s room.”

“Why?” Grey Wolf asked.

“I don’t know, but we do!” She turned around and started running, the other two Wolves following close behind her.

When they got there, the door opened and Raven came out, floating slightly above the ground; but something was different about her. Black energy pulsed from her body, turning everything around them dark. Her eyes glowed red and her cape flared out as if from a breeze.

“What do you want with me,” Raven asked, though not in her own voice, “Christians?”

Almost not knowing what they were doing, the Wolf Pack joined hands and said together, “In the name of Jesus Christ, come out of her!”

____________________

Raven looked around as if not through her own eyes. Everything around her was black except for three figures in front of her, who light emanating from them. They uttered words together, but she could not understand them.

But as they spoke, her whole body shook, as if ready to explode. Then, slowly, her vision cleared and she fell to the ground.

Raven slowly sat up and looked at the three figures she’d seen before. Her vision had cleared and everything was back to normal, so she could now see who had been in front of her. But when she saw couldn’t believe who they were: Wolf Woman, Grey Wolf, and White Wolf! Wolf Woman and the others ran over to Raven and knelt beside her.

“Wha-what happened?” Raven asked shakily.

Grey Wolf looked at the other two, who nodded. “I think that a demon took over your body, Raven.”

“What?”

“What’s the last thing you remember, Raven?” White Wolf asked.

“I…I don’t know.”

“Think Raven!” Grey Wolf said.

“Just try,” Wolf Woman said gently.

“I was…I was…leaving.”

“To go where?” White Wolf asked.

“Away, just away,” Raven said, but she couldn’t hold in her secret any longer, “Oh well, I guess you’ll find out anyway. I robbed those banks, all of them, in my sleep.”

“What?” Grey Wolf said loudly.

Raven backed away, “It wasn’t my fault,” she stammered defensively; “I didn’t know that I did it until I heard about it on the radio. I remembered dreaming about it, the same bank and everything.”

“It’s okay, Raven.” White Wolf said gently, “Calm down, we aren’t mad…”

“Right, Grey Wolf?” Wolf Woman shot a look at her loud partner.

“Right, sorry Raven, what else do you remember?” Grey Wolf toned down his voice.

Raven was scared, but she had to tell someone, anyone; even these three, “He didn’t want me to leave. He told me to stay here, but I didn’t want to listen anymore…”

“Wait,” White Wolf stopped her, “Who’s he?”

“He’s a spirit that I talk to. We’ve talked for years, but lately…I don’t know, it’s all changed. He’s different, colder, frightening. He said he wants to help me, but…”

“Raven,” Wolf Woman tried to keep her voice calm, “You need to stop talking to him, or any other ‘spirit’ for that matter.”

“No, if I do that he’ll hurt me even more. And I can’t just stop, it doesn’t work like that.”

“Yes you can, Raven.” White Wolf urged.

“No, I can’t!” Raven yelled on the verge of tears.

“Shhhh… Raven, it’s okay.” Wolf Woman took her hand, “Trust us.”

Raven looked down at Wolf Woman’s hand and her own. She wanted to believe them, she wanted to have someone that she could really trust; she wanted a friend.

But her pride got in the way, “…No!” Raven jumped up and ran.

“Raven, wait!” Wolf Woman called out.

But Raven didn’t stop; she kept running, away from everything that she had ever wanted: friends.

“Raven’s gone?”

“Yes,” Robin replied, “She left a note saying that she couldn’t be here anymore. I don’t know if she went back to her world, or if she’s still here, or what. All I know is that she left.”

Wolf Woman was shocked. Raven had said that she was leaving, but she didn’t really think that she would. “Thanks, Robin. Do you have any way that I could contact her?”

“No,” he replied, “She left her mini-radio, and all other ways of communication behind. She’s really gone.”

“No, no I need to see her. She needs help, and though I’m not the one who can give it, I know Who can. Robin, if you hear from her will you please let me know ASAP?”

“Okay, Wolf Woman.”

“Thanks,” Wolf Woman turned to leave, “Oh, and one more thing, Robin?”

“What’s that?”

“Pray for her, she’s in terrible trouble.”

“Grr, those goody-two-shoes Christians aren’t giving up! I need to stop them. As long as Raven is out of their reach it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t listen to me, but if they can get to her…I can’t let that happen!

“So what can I do? I’ll just throw everything I’ve got at them, and get her to leave the Earth.

“Look out, Christian soldiers; I’m coming your way!”

Dec. 2, 2008 - Chapter 16, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Wed, July 12th, 2056

Grey Wolf, White Wolf, and Wolf Woman slowly made their way to the back of a white house, or the White House as most called it. They crept along silently, careful to not be spotted by the men with machine guns; one noise at the wrong time could get the President killed.

When they got to the back of the White House, they took out their Wolf ropes and threw them up as high as they could; if they used their rope-guns they’d make noise, so instead they had small anchors on the ends of their rope.

They tested their weight and climbed up quickly and quietly. When they finally got to the right window, they peeked through it to see what was going on inside. They saw what they expected: some dude with a mask pointing a gun at the President. The guy’s back was to the window and he was facing a video recorder, which he’d somehow gotten hooked to all the major TV channels in the area.

They could hear a little through the window, and they heard him say, “…demands aren’t met, I’ll shoot the President. Again I say that I want 5 million dollars in cash within the next hour. Any attempts to stop me, and I’ll shoot…” He went on with this over and over again.

White Wolf had slowly and quietly been using a glasscutter on the window, with Wolf Woman and Grey Wolf holding on to the window with one of their hands, each keeping their other hand on the rope. Once White Wolf was done cutting the glass, Wolf Woman and Grey Wolf aimed and dropped the glass onto a large piece of foam that they’d put down before they climbed.

White Wolf climbed through the gap, followed by Wolf Woman, and then Grey Wolf. The guy threatening the President was obviously an amateur, for he was so busy looking at the camera that he didn’t notice them come in.

Grey Wolf went behind the guy and quickly kicked his legs out from under him. “Oomph,” the masked man landed with a thud. Grey Wolf jumped on him and tried to wrestle the gun away from him while the girls untied the President.

The gun went off, aimed at Grey Wolf’s head, but he easily evaded the bullet. He grabbed for the gun, but it went off again and hit him in the chest.

“Grey Wolf!” Wolf Woman almost screamed.

The guy with the mask turned and pointed the gun at the other two. “As you can see, these fools tried to stop me, and now one of them is down. If you want the President alive, you’ll bring me the money, but the Wolf Pack won’t live because they tried to stop me!”

He fired the gun at White Wolf, who jumped out of the way. Wolf Woman ran towards the guy while he was focused on White Wolf. She almost got there, when the guy turned and shot at her. The bullet hit her in the arm.

White Wolf charged at him and he turned to shoot her, but too late. She knocked him to the floor, but as they were falling the gun went off, and the bullet hit the President in the head.

“Simulation terminated. Simulation terminated…”

The surroundings changed back into the interior of the simulator.

“That mission could have gone better,” Grey Wolf said standing up. “Although I have to say, you and the other techies did a good job with the program, White Wolf. It was all so real, I almost felt really dead!”

“Thanks, Grey Wolf.”

“I completely forgot we were in the simulator,” Wolf Woman added, “Although that’s all the worse for us, since it didn’t go so well…”

Robin walked up to them, “How was the new simulator program? Did it work?”

“Oh yes!” Grey Wolf said, “It was great!”

“But the mission wasn’t,” Wolf Woman said, “We failed, if this had been real, the President would be dead now.”

“And so would I!” Grey Wolf exclaimed.

“Well, that’s what the simulator is for,” Robin said, “So you can practice and learn.”

“Exactly!” White Wolf said, “And it all worked perfectly! The team did a really good job!”

“Yep,” Grey Wolf said, “Now let’s go get something to eat, I’m starving!”

“You ate just before we went in!” Wolf Woman exclaimed, “And we were in there for how long?” she asked Robin.

“About 10 minutes.”

“Really?” Grey Wolf asked, “It seemed like we were there for about an hour!”

“I know,” White Wolf said, “That’s one of the things we programmed this to do; in a simulation, time goes by about 6 times faster. So our hour in there equals ten minutes out here.”

“Sweetness!” Wolf Woman smiled.

“Yeah, now let’s get to the kitchen!”

____________________

Raven sat straight up in bed, breathing heavily. Another dream. This was the fourth time in the last week that she dreamed about robbing a bank. Just another thing to show that I’m truly evil inside. All I ever dream about is doing stuff that’s against the law; I was a fool to think that there could be any good in me!

I can’t stay here; this place is for people who are truly good deep inside, not like me. All I have deep inside of me is blackness. Raven stood up and started to walk over to her dresser, to get some of her stuff.

But then she stopped and a voice came into her mind, “No Raven, I’ve told you that I will help you to achieve what you want. I led you here to Earth to accomplish this. You just need to keep trying and stay here with the Titans.”

“But you’ve told me that for such a long time now, and nothing is getting better, in fact it’s getting worse!”

“You doubt me?”

“I don’t know; I don’t know anything anymore.” And with that, Raven closed off her mind. She climbed back into bed and tried to go back to sleep, but she couldn’t. He was keeping her from sleep.

A tear rolled down her cheek, Stop that, Raven! She told herself, Emotion is weakness. But she couldn’t stop it, any more than she could stop the dreams.

Nov. 26, 2008 - Chapter 16, Part 1 - Entry File: How It All Started

(Author's Note) Ok, as you've hopefully all seen on my sidebar, I've changed stuff about some characters that aren't mine. You've seen it before with my having some characters come to know the Lord, as well as some chages about where they live/go to school. In the rest of this story (and the next one and the other one that I'm still working on) there is a much bigger change to a character. That character is Raven.

In the comics as well as the Teen Titans Animated Series, she is the child of a demon and her powers have to do with witchcraft. Both of these aspects of her character I feel are not right in my story. But I love the character of Raven, so I've kept her in my stories, but I've changed a lot of the stuff in her past. She is a main character for the rest of my stories, so you'll be seeing the changes a lot. I hope that you will be able to cope with my changes, and I hope that you may come to enjoy her new storyline in my stories. (btw, just so you know, during the next few chapters there is a lot of stuff having to do with Satan and his demons, but I've kept it "family friendly") And now, without further ado:

Chapter 16
Raven’s Fear

Mon, July 10th, 2056

“So are you coming to Youth Group on Wednesday?” Wolf Woman asked Grey Wolf.

“If nothing comes up that would keep me away, then yes. I’ve missed the last two because of missions,” he answered, “So what has Bob been teaching lately?”

The Wolf Pack was walking around Teen Titan Headquarters, just talking.

“Right now we’re going through lessons about witnessing.” White Wolf told him, “It’s been really helpful; Bob’s done a good job.”

“Yeah, he’s answering all of my questions, like what to say and how to start a relationship that will later lead to opportunities.” Wolf Woman said.

“Sound’s cool,” Grey Wolf said, “So yeah, I’m planning on being there, as long as I’m not on a mission at the time.”

“I’m sure that Robin won’t make you miss too many weeks in a row,” White Wolf said, “I mean, he goes to our Youth Group, and I’m sure that he knows that you really like being there. It’s just that we’re still getting situated, with all the new members and stuff like that.”

“I’m sure that it’s a little hard on him too,” Wolf Woman said, “With all the things that need organizing and stuff like that. I’ve had to do the dishes 3 times already this week; we all have to make sacrifices until everything gets organized.”

“3 times? I’d rather miss Youth Group 5 times in a row than have to do the dishes 3 days out of the last 4!” Grey Wolf joked.

Wolf Woman knew he was joking, but rolled her eyes anyway, “Oh come on, Grey Wolf, I know that you hate dishes but I also know that you would choose dishes over not going to Youth Group!”

“Maybe…”

Before she could reply, Wolf Woman saw someone walking down the hall towards them. “Hi Raven,” she said.

Raven just walked by, seemingly unaware that they were even there.

“Hi, Wolf Woman,” Grey Wolf said once she was out of earshot, mimicking Raven’s voice. Wolf Woman elbowed him in the side, “What?” he asked, “I mean, that was kind of rude how she just ignored you there.”

“She’s been doing that a lot lately,” said Wolf Woman, “I’m used to it. But I still say hi and try to be friendly to her. I just wish I knew why she was doing that.”

“Why does Raven do anything that Raven does?”

That earned Grey Wolf another elbow in the side. “Stop it, you’re being rude!”

“All right, I’m sorry,” he said, “It’s just that I’m getting tired of this, her always acting like we aren’t here.”

“So you’ve noticed too?” Wolf Woman asked.

“Well, yeah, I’m not totally stupid.”

"
I never said you were.”

“How about you, White Wolf?” Grey Wolf asked, “Have you noticed Raven acting like that at all?”

“Yes, I have,” she said, “I’ve been praying for her a lot. You know what Robin and some of the others told me?”

“What?” they asked together.

“They told me that she talks to spirits.”

“Really?” they said together.

“Wow, that’s bad.” Wolf Woman said.

“I know, I’ve tried to talk to her, but she’s so closed up,” White Wolf said.

“I think that we should all pray for her,” Wolf Woman said.

“I agree,” Grey Wolf said.

____________________

“I haven’t been hanging around them, just like you said.”

“But there are others around you, and you‘re still with them. Why are you disobeying?”

Raven felt a sharp pain in her mind, which quickly released, “Ow. I’m trying to avoid them, but some of them I have to be with sometimes, like Robin, he’s the one who gives me assignments; I have to be with him, at least sometimes!”

“Maybe, but you’re with him even when you aren’t being given missions.”

Another sharp pang, “I’ll do better.”

“You’d better.”

“Why am I doing this, again?”

“Because they’re enemies of everything that I stand for, which you stand for too, right Raven?”

“Right… I guess.”

“What do you mean, ‘I guess’?”

“Of course I do. It’s just that…”

“That what?”

“Nothing. Is there anything that you want me to do today?”

“No, just stay away from anyone who’s a Christian, and even those who are just in danger of their influence. They’re dangerous, Raven.”

“All right.”

The voice left her head and Raven’s mind cleared. As she stood up she thought about what she’d been told. It seemed like it had all been a dream, but she knew it was real, she was used to it. After all, she’d known her "spirit friend" since she was nine. At times he scared her, but she’d found a small amount of comfort in her talks with him. The only comfort she’d ever felt.

Nov. 18, 2008 - Chapter 15 (the whole thing) - Entry File: How It All Started

Chapter 15
Ultimate Weapon

Wolf Woman felt a huge pain in her side; the alien’s energy beam had missed its fatal target but had still hit her. She struggled to get up, for there were still many of the enemy around; if she stayed down it would mean certain death.

She finally stood and looked around; no threats were close by for the alien that shot her was dead. Wolf Woman quickly cut the electrical net that held Wonder Woman captive.

“Are you all right?” Wolf Woman asked.

“I’m fine.” Wonder Woman answered. Apparently, even though she had been in the net for a few minutes, Wonder Woman’s strength kept her from blacking out or worse.

Wolf Woman turned to see if any of the enemy was around, but winced at the pain turning caused her.

“Are you all right?”

“I think so,” Wolf Woman replied, “but I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”

Just then, aliens noticed them and came towards them. “Don’t worry,” Wonder Woman said, “I’ll stay with you.”

____________________

“Robin!” White Wolf called to her friend as she ran, “I need to talk with you!”

“This is hardly the time!” he said while fighting off three aliens.

White Wolf ran forward, SLASH, SWIPE, SLASH! The three aliens fell dead. “Now Robin!”

“All right, come with me!” He led her into a small bushy area a few yards from the fighting; “Now what’s so important, I’ve never seen you so intense!”

“I think I know how to stop them!”

“Really? How?”

“They always left right before the sun came out before and now they didn’t, why?”

“Because they can’t see the sun? It’s blocked by the…” he paused.

“Dark gas!” they said together.

“I think that if we get rid of it so that the sun comes out they’ll at least get back to their ships, or maybe something bigger will happen!” White Wolf said excitedly.

“Right, who can we get to help us?”

“Atomic Teen. He can use his wind powers and blow that stuff away. But we also need to clog up the ducts that it’s all coming out of.”

“Ice Maiden could probably put a bunch of ice in the way.” Robin said.

“Right, you get AT, I’ll get Ice.”

“Let’s go!”

White Wolf ran back into the fray to find Ice Maiden. It was easy to spot her; Falconess was carrying her over the battlefield while she was shooting blasts of ice at aliens. Using her rocket boots, White Wolf joined them in the air, “Girls, I need your help. Falconess, fly over to the ships.”

Falconess did as she was told, and on the way White Wolf explained the rest, “Ice Maiden, I need you to block up the ducts letting that stuff in the air with your ice.”

Ice Maiden started shooting at the openings, clogging them with tons of ice. Part one of the plan was a success!

____________________

Robin searched for Atomic Teen through the huge battle. He was having a hard time until he saw a tornado. That’s helpful!

He ran towards the tornado and soon found Atomic Teen fighting aliens while keeping the tornado going. “Atomic Teen, I need your help with something!”

“What is it?”

“I need you to blow away the dark gas in the sky.”

“Blow it where?” Atomic Teen asked.

“I don’t know, out into space?”

“Right,” AT said. He took down his tornado, which dropped a bunch of aliens, and made a huge wind. He blew the gas up, up and gone!

Robin squinted his eyes, for now he could see the sun, bright as ever!

All around him aliens shrieked. They all tried to run back to their ships. A lot of them made it, but the rest of them fell to the ground, dead.

“The sun’s rays kill them!” Robin exclaimed. “Quick, everyone attack the ships; make holes for the sun to get through!”

Robin quickly called Superman and told him what happened, “So when the sun is supposed to come out get rid of the gas and attack them with the sun’s rays!”

“Will do, Robin, thanks for the tip!”

“I’ll send all of my people who are still strong enough over to you, to help you until the sun comes up.”

“Thanks, and send them soon!”

____________________

“I can’t believe it! It’s all over!” Wolf Woman exclaimed.

“I know, all White Martians are either dead or have retreated back into space as fast as they could!” White Wolf said.

“Yeah, not that I’m happy that we had to kill so many, but we’ve saved the human race from annihilation!” Tigerlady exclaimed.

“It’s too bad no one will ever know about this,” Grey Wolf said.

“Yeah, why aren’t we telling anyone, Robin?” Rottweiler asked.

“Well, Superman, a few others, and I, got together and discussed it; we think that if we tell people about this, now that it’s over, people will stop trusting us.”

“I guess that makes sense,” Atomic Teen said, “but I still wish that other people could know what we did.”

“Oh, well.” Golden Retriever said, “At least things will go back to normal. Well, almost normal.”

“Almost?” Wolf Woman asked.

“Well, now that we’ve helped out with this I guess that we, Tigerlady, Rottweiler, and I, will be working as Superheroes more often.”

“Yeah, I guess you will,” Robin said, “And I’d like to help you get started, and you too, AT.”

“How, Robin?” Tigerlady asked.

“How would you guys like to become Teen Titans?”

“Sweet!” Rottweiler said, “Thanks Robin!”

“Yeah, thanks,” Atomic Teen said.

“I’ll be asking all of the teenage Superheroes who helped out in this to become Titans, what do you say you help me gather them all together?”

“Sure Robin,” White Wolf said, “We’ll help.”

“Yeah, let’s go!” Tigerlady said.

Wolf Woman and the others scattered, each of them finding teenage heroes and sending them to Robin. As she was walking, Wolf Woman bumped into someone.

“Where are you going in such a hurry, Wolf Pup?”

“Actually I was coming to find you and tell you something, Leo.” she replied

“Yeah? What?”

She smiled and said, “Goodbye!” She walked away. I don’t need to worry about his attacks anymore, I have Someone more important with me, and what He thinks is all that matters.

“Good job, Jules,” Grey Wolf said coming up from behind, “I knew you could do it!”

“Thanks, Grey Wolf.” she said, “now let’s go find the rest of the teens and tell them Robin‘s news!”

All of the Teen Titans were gathered in one room. It was time to show each other their secret identities.

A bunch of the names flew past Wolf Woman’s head; those names meant nothing to her. The most interesting people to show themselves were near the end.

Atomic Teen told his secret identity, “Gregory Locke.”

This didn’t mean anything to Wolf Woman, but it meant something to Falconess and Ice Maiden; they went to the same school as he did and when he said his name they gave out small gasps.

Then it was Batgirl’s turn, “Barbara Gordon.”

Wolf Woman’s eyes widened, Barbara?

Rottweiler was next, “Anyi Jimenez.”

Anyi?

Golden Retriever, “Nataly Jimenez.”

Wolf Woman looked in surprise at White Wolf, Nataly?

Tigerlady, “Stephanie Wold.”

What is going on here?

Then Falconess and Ice Maiden went, but Wolf Woman already knew them, and she was still in shock from the others that she knew. She recovered just before it was her turn, “I’m Julia Wolfe.”

A few gasps came from the crowd, and even more came after White Wolf and Grey Wolf took off theirs.

Once everyone was done, a huge group flocked together: Ice Maiden, Falconess, Atomic Teen, Robin, Batgirl, Tigerlady, Rottweiler, Golden Retriever, White Wolf, Grey Wolf, and Wolf Woman. All of them hugged, shook hands, gave slaps on the back, laughed, and talked. What a great day!

But that wasn’t the end! Robin got a call from Superman telling him and the Teen Titans to meet at the Justice League headquarters!

____________________

Robin and Superman shook hands up front. Now the Teen Titans (now with 25 teens total) and the Justice League (which had also grown, now with 21 members) had an official alliance. They would still be separate groups, but together they would make the best team of Superheroes ever: the new Super Friends.

Julia dribbled the basketball towards the hoop. She jumped up and shot the ball, but she missed. Cassie came up, grabbed the ball, and ran back towards the other hoop. She shot, and she made it!

Julia leaned over, her hands on her knees and breathing heavily, “Okay, you win two games to one. Now can we please sit down and rest?”

“Fine, but only for a little bit, I have the whole day planned out,” Cassie grinned mischievously, “Just wait till you see what we’re going to do next!”

Julia plopped down on the bench; the pain in her side was still there. It was lessened considerably, but there was still some pain. She grabbed her side.

“What’s wrong, Jules?”

“Oh, just a stitch, I’m all right.”

“Good.”

After a couple of minutes, Julia stood up, “Okay, what’s next?”

“Well, I’ve gotten a bunch of my friends together and they’re going to meet us at the mall. I told them I was bringing a high-schooler with me, so they are all excited. All of their hopes will be smashed when they see you, though.”

“Oh thanks!” Julia said sarcastically, “I’ll just wear a disguise; they won’t recognize me then.”

“Already taken care of,” Cassie said, giggling while she reached into her purse. She pulled out a brown wig, “You’re going to wear this!”

“What? Okay, now you’re going too far!”

“You promised that you’d do what ever I asked you to,” Cassie said stubbornly.

“Oh fine,” Julia grabbed the wig. She put it on, “How do I look?”

Cassie laughed, “Great! Now let’s go!”

Julia sighed. The things I do for my little sister!

Nov. 11, 2008 - Chapter 14, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Thurs, June 22nd, 2056

“We fought them all through the night.” Superman said on the monitor screen. “Finally, almost at sunrise, they all retreated. There were a few deaths on our side, all Villains; other than that there are some injuries, but none that can’t be healed. But there are hundreds of alien casualties.”

“That’s about the same thing that happened over here, Superman,” Lex Luthor told him, “Except that none from our side got killed.”

“Good.” Superman spoke again, “My team is going to stay here in case of another attack; we’ll keep contact over the monitors.”

“Right Superman,” Robin said, “But there’s something going on right now that you might want to know about. The alien ships are letting out strange black gas into the air. We’ve checked it and it’s not toxic, but I’m worried about why they’re doing it.”

“They’re doing that over here too, but you’re right, it isn’t toxic, and we have bigger things to worry about.”

“All right,” Robin said. Then he sighed, “We’re keeping a close watch on them, but I don’t know if that will really help at all, everyone here is tired and/or hurt. We may not survive another attack.”

“The same thing is happening here too, Robin, but we will fight to the end, no matter what. Nothing is more important than protecting Earth right now.” And with those last words, Superman stopped talking and the monitor switched back to watching the ships.

Robin walked away from the monitor, “God, if we’ve ever needed a miracle we need it now!”

“Yes, Mom, I’m okay. It’s just a scratch.” Wolf Woman said.

“And…” her Mom prompted her over the cell phone.

“And…a blast in the leg from a laser gun…” she admitted. “But it’s nothing serious; there are others with much worse wounds than what I got.”

“Wounds that you could get if you aren’t careful.”

“I know, and I am careful.” she said. “I avoided getting my head cut off.”

“WHAT?”

“Oops…” she muttered under her breath. “Like I said, Mom, I’m fine. Now listen, I have to go, but I’ll call you again soon. Bye.”

“Bye, and be careful.”

“I will, Mom. Tell Dad and Cassie hi and that I’m all right. And please try and make up a good excuse for me not being home to tell Cassie, I don‘t want her to worry.” And with that, she hung up the phone.

“Is the Wolf Pup missing her Mommy?”

Wolf Woman spun around, “What do you want, Leo?”

But he walked right on by, laughing as he went.

“Grr…he makes me so mad sometimes! What am I saying? All the time!” she said aloud to herself.

“You and me both, sister!”

“Oh, Grey Wolf, I didn’t see you there in the dark.” she said, “Practicing your sneaking?”

“Yeah, something like that.”

There was a slight pause, then Wolf Woman said, “Oh Grey Wolf, it’s like he’s waiting around every corner; just waiting to attack me, but not with a sword or his fist, with words. If it were either of the other two I could handle it, but I just can’t block these blows.”

Grey Wolf thought for a moment, then said, “You just need to remember who you are; not that cheesy ‘believe in yourself’ line, but instead this: You are a child of the King. Don’t let those who do Satan’s will get to you. Like the Bible says, ‘Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.’ You can block these attacks because you have Him on your side. And you know that He cares for you.”

Wolf Woman thought about this for a second, and then she smiled, “Thanks, Grey Wolf.”

“That’s what brothers and sisters in Christ are there for,” he said, “to help strengthen you and lift you up when you’re feeling down.”

“And I hope that someday I can return the favor, as your sister in Christ.”

Just then, Grey Wolf’s radio beeped, “Yes?” he said into the radio.

“Grey Wolf,” he heard Robin say, “Grab everyone near you, tell them to get ready, the White Martians are advancing on our camp from the East!”

“Right, Robin, I have Wolf Woman with me and we’ll tell everyone we see to come help meet the attack.”

“Thanks, and you two be careful!”

Wolf Woman leaned over, “We will, Robin.”

“Yeah, and you be careful too!” Grey Wolf said, and then he shut off his radio. “Let’s go, Jules.” he whispered her nickname.

They ran out, grabbing everyone they saw and quickly saying, “The White Martians are attacking, let’s go!”

They ran out towards where the Martians were coming from.

“Wait for them to attack first!” Robin yelled.

“No, you fool!” Lex Luthor yelled at him, “If we wait then they’ll have the advantage that comes with attacking first; they’ll wound some of us before we can wound them!”

“We wait.” Robin said again with authority.

But Luthor didn’t listen and he and the other Villains charged the enemies’ front line.

“Great.”

Wolf Woman ran up to him, “Robin, what should we do?”

“It’s too late to do anything else,” he replied, “let’s go.”

He started running towards the aliens with Wolf Woman, Grey Wolf, and all the others right behind him.

“Father,” Wolf Woman prayed as she ran. “Please give us strength to defeat them! And keep us safe.”

And the two groups collided.

Fri, June 23rd, 2056

They’d been fighting for six hours, everyone was worn-out, but whenever they cut down aliens, more and more came out of the ships to replace them. But the Superheroes and Villains did not have that advantage. They were all tired, but they kept on going; fighting to protect humanity from annihilation.

Wolf Woman was exhausted. The last battle that she’d been in had lasted about 5 hours. This battle had been going on for six; plus she was still tired out from the last battle. She wanted to collapse, but somehow she fought on, they needed to win this battle.

Wolf Woman stayed as close to the other Wolves as possible, most of the time they stayed back-to-back-to-back to protect each other from attacks from behind.

It will be morning soon; they went away when the sun rose yesterday; maybe they’ll do that today too.

After another twenty minutes, Wolf Woman sneaked a lightening fast look at her watch. She did a double take. It was almost 7 o’clock and it was the beginning of summer, the sun should have been up by now!

____________________

White Wolf realized this as well, and she soon figured out what was wrong. The dark gas that the aliens had let out into the air was blocking the sun!

As she fought, White Wolf’s mind raced. Things started coming together in her mind. The aliens had left when the sun came up before, then they let out this dark stuff into the air, and now they fought when they normally retreated! She had to get to Robin!

____________________

Wolf Woman watched as White Wolf left and then realized what White Wolf had figured out. The sun! Something about the sun made the aliens worry. Were they scared of light? Or maybe they were allergic to the sun’s rays?

Wolf Woman’s mind suddenly shot back to the battle. Someone was in trouble; she just knew it! She looked around her; she saw nothing. No, something told her. Someone’s in serious trouble!

She looked around again and saw something moving behind a few bushes near her. She ran over and looked behind the bushes and she saw what was wrong. Wonder Woman was on the ground, caught in a net from one of the electric net guns, and an alien with a laser sword was running towards her!

Wolf Woman ran towards Wonder Woman, and as she was running she grabbed what she’d forgotten about for most of the battle: the laser sword she had used the night before.

She got in front of Wonder Woman and parried the alien’s attack. Then, in one quick motion, she cut off the surprised Martian’s arm and jabbed it in the chest.

Wolf Woman turned to cut Wonder Woman loose, but had to stop and defend herself from another alien with an energy gun. The alien fired, Wolf Woman deflected it with her Wolf shield and swung at the alien, who ducked out of the way. It shot again and again while Wolf Woman deflected some shots with her shield and jumped out of the way of others. While in the air, Wolf Woman swung her sword, letting her shield down. The alien shot, Wolf Woman’s sword hit flesh, and they both fell to the ground.

Nov. 4, 2008 - Chapter 14, Part 1 - Entry File: How It All Started

Chapter 14
Battle for Earth

Rottweiler, Wolf Woman, White Wolf, Grey Wolf, and Atomic Teen circled around the right side of the ships and came out in front of the aliens.

“Stop!” Grey Wolf yelled to the aliens as they all stepped out of the bushes.

“Earth is protected by us,” Rottweiler said with authority, “if you want to go on a killing rampage you’ll have to go through us first!”

The White Martians looked at each other quickly, as if they were confused. Then they all leveled their guns, aiming them at the Heroes.

The Wolf Pack stepped in front of the other two and blocked the blasts of energy with their Wolf-shields.

“WIND!” Atomic Teen yelled. He made four huge tornados within the aliens’ ranks, catching a bunch of them in their whirling winds.

The Wolves, who had all strapped on their swords beforehand, all drew their Wolf Swords and charged the Martians.

Rottweiler, with her expert gymnast abilities, flipped over the aliens and landed in the middle of a few of them. She kicked and punched a few and then jumped high to avoid being hit with the aliens’ weapons.

Atomic Teen yelled, “WATER!” The tornados disappeared, dropping about a dozen from each tornado from 40 feet in the air, killing them. He ran out into the middle of the aliens’ group, while running hitting a few aliens with super-strong water blasts. Once in the middle, past the other heroes, he made a tidal wave, knocking over a hundred or so aliens and killing about 25 of them.

The Wolf Pack ran through the group of aliens nonstop, for if they did stop they would be hit by the energy blasts from the guns. Since they didn’t stop running, the blasts from the guns took out a bunch of the White Martians themselves.

While running they swung their swords, cutting many deep and killing some. Wolf Woman and the others didn’t like to kill, but in this case they had to; if they didn’t, then all humans could be annihilated.

Then one of the White Martians yelled out some kind of gibberish that must have meant something in their language. All of the aliens ran back into their ships.

“YEAH!” Grey Wolf yelled.

“We did it!” Rottweiler called out.

“Oh yeah!” Wolf Woman yelled.

The five heroes ran towards each other and gave high-fives and hugs. They had stopped hundreds of aliens with only five people!

But their victory was short lived.

White Martians started pouring out of the ships again, this time with armor and more than just guns. Some had hi-tech laser swords that put light-sabers to shame, some had giant sonic cannons, some had the energy guns that they had had before, some had electrical net shooters, and some had what looked like electrical maces.

“Oh, fun,” Rottweiler said, shoulders drooping.

“Help,” Wolf Woman muttered.

As if by magic, after she said “help” their team got there. A team of Superheroes and Super-Villains mixed together, not something that you see everyday.

The White Martians’ eyes widened for a second, but they quickly narrowed them and brandished their weapons.

Everything that happened next was like a blur in front of Wolf Woman’s eyes. It was the biggest battle she’d ever been in, and the biggest battle she’d ever been in before this day had only thirteen people and a bunch of “Clay Things”.

She remembered running out with the Wolf Pack with her sword held high. She remembered feeling resistance against her sword from the bodies of aliens. During the running she somehow got a deep cut in her left arm, but even with the pain she kept going.

She remembered getting separated from the rest of the Pack and finding herself fighting side-by-side with Villains, though she couldn’t remember which ones they were. She remembered her sword being sliced in two by a laser sword and jumping away just before the laser sword sliced through where her neck had been. She remembered running. She remembered being caught in the middle of five aliens, all with guns trained on her. She remembered searing pain as one energy beam hit her in the right leg while flipping away.

She remembered grabbing a laser sword from a dead alien body and trying to fight with a limp. She remembered finding Falconess and Ice Maiden and fighting alongside them. Then, last she remembered alien screams, and watching White Martians run back to their ships.

The confusing blur of the battle cleared as the sun came up. She tried to walk, but fell to her hands and knees with exhaustion. Falconess reached out her hand and helped Wolf Woman to stand again.

Wolf Woman surveyed the field in which they’d been fighting. Alien bodies littered the ground in bloody heaps. She almost fainted at the horrible sight, but somehow willed herself to stay standing. The one good sight was that she saw no bodies from their side on the ground. She saw some hurt, some worse than others, but none were dead.

“W-why did they run?” Wolf Woman breathed heavily.

“I don’t know, Wolf Woman. Maybe they’ve just had enough.” Ice Maiden replied.

All of the Heroes and Villains went back to their camps; they kept a close eye on the aliens on one monitor, but on the other one they saw another battle going on. It was dark on that side of the world, so you couldn’t see very much, but you could tell that there was a battle going on.

“We need to get over there and help them!” Wolf Woman heard someone say.

“If they need it they’ll call for help,” another person said.

“Everyone’s tired out and hurt,” someone else said, “of what use would we be to them in this condition?”

“Is there anyone who is not too injured and who is willing to go over and give the assistance?” she heard Starfire ask, “If so, go. But if you have any of the doubts then don’t go. You may only hinder them.”

A few went, but most, including Wolf Woman, stayed; too tired out to do anything.

“Father,” she prayed. “This battle was huge, but for the moment it looks like we won. Thank-You, without You we wouldn’t have stood a chance. I’m so tired; help us all to be able to get some rest. And help the others on the other side of the globe.” And with that, she fell asleep.

Oct. 27, 2008 - Chapter 13, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Wed, June 21st, 2056

“Good morning, Mom.” Julia said walking into the kitchen. It was almost 7:30.

“Good morning, Julia.” her Mom said turning around to face her daughter. “You’d better hurry up and eat; you can’t leave your friends hanging.”

“What?”

The look in her Mom’s eyes told her the whole story. Julia ran to her Mom and hugged her tightly. “Thanks Mom!”

“Just be careful, okay?” her Mom asked with a tear rolling down her cheek.

“Oh Mom,” Julia reached up and wiped the tear off her mother’s face, “I always am, and will be. I promise!”

“We aren’t done praying about it,” her Dad said walking into the room, “We will continue for quite some time, but for now the answer is yes, you may go.”

Julia tore herself away from her mother and embraced her Dad, “Thanks Dad, I’ll be as safe as I can. I’ll make you and Mom proud!”

“You already have, Julia,” her father told her, “by coming forward and telling the truth, by showing us that you will respect our wishes, all through your life you’ve made us proud.”

Tears flowed freely down Julia’s cheeks as she hugged her father. Soon she felt her Mom come and hug her too.

After a minute of that, Julia gently pulled away. “I’d better eat and go.”

“Here,” her Mom gave her a Hot Pocket, “I’ve already heated it up so you can eat on the go.”

“Thank-you. Say bye and I love you to Cassie for me.” Julia grabbed it and went out the back door, her parents close behind. Right before disappearing through the bushes she waved to her parents; then she ducked into the forest.

“There she goes, Michael.”

“Off to save the world.”

“I can’t believe that our baby is a Superhero.”

“I know, she used to seem so small and now she’s grown-up and doing something with her life.”

“She’ll need prayer support, they all will.”

“Then let’s pray right now, Chris.”

“All right.”

They knelt down and Michael started, “Father in heaven, You know what’s best for Julia and You love her more than we do. Please protect her…”

____________________

Wolf Woman got to the camp at 8 o‘clock. Once she got there, White Wolf ran up to her, “Where have you been?”

“At home, has anything happened?”

“No, not yet, except that all of the Super-Villains are now walking freely among us. It’s so strange, usually we’d be fighting them, but now they’re walking in our camp like they’re our buddies or something. Of course they aren’t, but still…”

“Wow,” Wolf Woman looked around and saw that what White Wolf said was true. She shuddered, “Let’s find some friends to talk to.”

“Good idea.”

They walked until they ran into Robin and Grey Wolf, “Hey guys!” White Wolf said.

“Hi.”

“What’s up?” Grey Wolf asked.

“We were just talking about how they’re all here in the camp.” Wolf Woman answered.

“It just seems wrong,” White Wolf added.

“Yeah, I mean, I am glad that we have help, but they wouldn’t have been my first choice.” Grey Wolf said.

“It’s not like we wanted to work with you either.”

The new voice made them jump. They turned to face the voice. It was Lex Luthor. “But we knew that we had to protect the Earth, and, much as we hate to admit it, we couldn’t do it alone. And neither could you guys!”

“So do you think that there will be any fights breaking out?” Wolf Woman asked coolly.

“I think that my people will behave. It’s you people that I worry about.” Luthor said with a slight glare at them. Then he walked away.

“Anyway,” Grey Wolf said, “where were you last night, Wolf Woman? It’s not like you to leave like that.”

“I had to go home and show Mom and Dad that I was alright,” she answered, “…I told them.”

“Told them what?” Robin asked.

“Who I am.”

“What?” White Wolf exclaimed, “and they let you come back?”

“They said that they would pray, and this morning they told me that for now I could go, but that they would continue to pray about it.”

“Wow; that was pretty brave of you to tell them that,” White Wolf said, “they could have forbidden you from coming back.”

“I know,” Wolf Woman said, “but I couldn’t keep it a secret any longer. Besides, your parents know, White Wolf, so why shouldn’t I tell mine?”

“But right in the middle of a BIG mission?” she asked, “as I said they could have forbidden you from coming back, and I know that you want to help with all of your heart.”

“Yes, I do. Thankfully everything worked out.”

“Don’t look now, guys,” Grey Wolf said in a whisper, “here comes Leo the Lion.”

Wolf Woman turned to look, “Great!” she muttered under her breath.

“Well, well,” Leo said once he got near, “if it isn’t my old friends and their new one,” he said, glancing at Robin.

Wolf Woman turned back to her friends, trying to ignore Leo.

“Too scared to look me in the face, huh Jules?”

Wolf Woman quickly turned and stared him in the face, “Don’t ever call me that again! My name is Julia, but here my name is Wolf Woman.” She stayed there for a while, looking up a bit to account for the difference in height. Then she turned back to her friends.

“I thought Christians didn’t hold grudges, Wolf Pup!”

She turned back to him again, but before she could say anything he sneered and walked away.

Wolf Woman turned back to her friends, feeling discouraged.

“Don’t let him get to you, Wolf Woman,” Grey Wolf told her, “He’s just messing with your mind.”

She nodded slowly, shoulders still slumped forward, “I know.”

____________________

“Guys, look,” Atomic Teen whispered in the dark, “Something’s happening!”

“They’re opening up!” White Wolf exclaimed quietly.

“And they’re coming out!” Rottweiler exclaimed.

They watched as the White Martians came out of their ships, hundreds of them! They were humanoid in form, but with white skin (hence their name) and a longer, pointier head. Each of the aliens was carrying a big gun.

“Quick,” Grey Wolf said, “Radio Superman and the others.”

Wolf Woman got out her radio and called Superman, “Superman! They’re coming out, and they’re heading in the direction of the nearest town!”

“I know, and I just checked the monitor and something is happening on the other side of the globe. They aren’t coming out yet, but it looks like they’re preparing to do so.”

“What are we going to do?”

“I’ve already split up everyone into two teams, your team should be arriving soon; I’m taking the other team across the globe now. Keep them away from the cities!” And with that he shut off his radio.

“We heard everything,” Grey Wolf said, “but we don’t have enough time to wait for the rest of the team. Let’s go stall them ‘til the others get here!” He unsheathed his Wolf claws.

“Oh boy,” White Wolf said, “here we go.”

Oct. 20, 2008 - Chapter 13, Part 1 - Entry File: How It All Started

Chapter 13
Telling the Truth

“We’ve come to negotiate with you.” Lex said, stepping closer.

“We?” Superman asked, stepping forward.

Instantly more people stepped out of the shadows of the forest, more Villains.

“Yes, we. Almost every Super-Villain on planet Earth.”

All of the Superheroes stepped forward; ready to defend themselves against their enemies.

“What do you mean by ‘negotiate’?” Robin asked, stepping to the front to join Superman.

“Just what it means, to talk about something.”

“About what?” Superman asked impatiently.

“About those big spaceships out there in the field, what else?” Luthor almost yelled. “Will you hear me out, or not?”

“Okay, but if anything happens that shouldn’t, let’s just say I won’t be happy.” Superman said threateningly.

“All right,” Luthor said, “We were contacted by the White Martians about a week ago. They asked for our help in taking over the planet in exchange for powerful seats of command once they do take over.

“We went along with this plan, until about an hour ago. After they landed we sent a few of our people to them, and when they didn’t come back within an hour we went to check on them. We found them, dead, with a note beside them that said, ‘Everyone else on Earth will be the same as these soon’. I don‘t know why, but they‘ve obviously changed their minds. Anyway, that’s when we realized that they weren’t here just to conquer Earth, but to kill everyone on it, including us. We want to take over the Earth, not annihilate everyone on it. So we decided to give you our aid this once, for this is the one time where our goals are the same.”

“Yes, so I see.” Superman said, “but before we believe you, we’ll have to make sure that you aren’t really spies for the White Martians.” Superman looked over his shoulder, “J’Onn (John)?”

Martian Manhunter stepped forward and stared at Luthor for a moment. Luthor squirmed slightly and sweated, for J’Onn didn’t even try to be gentle with his telepathic scanning. After a minute went by he turned to Superman, “Yes, he’s telling the truth.”

“Good,” Superman said, “You’re in. But you’ll camp apart from us, so that no fights will break out.”

“Right,” Luthor turned to his partners in crime, “We’ll camp a little to the north.” The Villains turned and left.

Wolf Woman was astonished. Those who were usually “bad guys” were going to help them! Grey Wolf and White Wolf ran up to her.

“Can you believe that?” White Wolf exclaimed.

“I know, it’s so weird,” Grey Wolf agreed, “but you know what’s kind of cool?”

“What, Grey Wolf?” Wolf Woman asked.

“Right before they came I was praying, and I prayed that God would send us more help!”

“So was I!”

“Me too,” Wolf Woman said excitedly, “I guess that sometimes God answers prayer in ways that we really don’t expect!”

____________________

Julia didn’t want to go home, she wanted to stay with her friends, but she also didn’t want her Mom and Dad to worry too much. She’d called them on her cell phone a few times to check in with them, but she knew that she couldn’t do that forever. It was time to fess-up.

She walked in the door and called out, “Mom, Dad, I’m home.”

“Good,” her Dad said, “We need to talk with you.”

“And I need to talk with you,” she said.

“Let’s take this in the living room; your Mom is there too.”

“Hi Julia,” Cassie ran down the stairs and hugged her sister, “Where have you been all day?”

“I’ve been out with some friends,” Julia replied, hugging her sister back, “I’ll come upstairs in a little while to talk to you, but I need to talk to Mom and Dad privately for a while. Okay?”

Cassie looked disappointed but said, “Okay, just promise that you’ll be up soon.”

“I promise.”

Cassie walked back up the stairs and turned up her radio. Then Julia and her father walked into the living room. Julia sat on the loveseat, while her Dad took a spot on the couch next to his wife.

“What is it that you want to talk about?” Julia asked.

“It’s about how you’ve been gone a lot lately,” her father told her.

“I want to talk about that too, actually,” Julia said.

“Really?” her Mom asked.

“Yes, I have something big to tell you,” Julia told them, “But before I do, I want you to promise that you won’t interrupt until I tell you that you can, and that you’ll listen with an open mind.”

“We promise, sweetie,” her Mom said.

Julia looked at her Dad, who nodded. She took a deep breath and said, “First of all, I haven’t been lying to you two. I overheard your conversation last night when I came downstairs for a drink of water. I understand why you thought that I might be lying, but I wasn’t. There are aliens, they landed today, and we just found out that they are not here to just take over the Earth, they’re here to annihilate all humans.”

“Wait, who’s we?” her Dad interrupted.

“Dad,” Julia whined, “you said that you wouldn’t interrupt!”

“Sorry, go ahead.”

“Thank-you, and I was just getting to the ‘we’ part.” Julia took in a deep breath and continued, “Mom, Dad, I’m a Superhero. I’m Wolf Woman.”

Her parents’ eyes widened, but they didn’t interrupt her. “We, being the Teen Titans, have known about things coming towards the Earth for the past week. Then, five days ago we found out that they were an alien race that has taken over and destroyed many, many other planets. So we got together with the Justice League and a bunch of other Superheroes and we’ve been preparing to protect Earth.

“Then today the White Martians landed out in the country near here and in another place across the globe. We’ve been watching them and they haven’t done anything yet. But then, all of the Super-Villains showed up at our camp and offered their help to protect Earth. They say that though they want to take over the Earth, they don’t want it destroyed.

“So then, a little while ago I left to come and fess-up to you two, because I hated the feeling that I was keeping a secret from you. So now you’re probably going to forbid me from going back to my friends because it’s too dangerous, but before you do I want to make a plea.

“Please, let me go back to my friends. They need my help; they’re depending on me. I took a big risk coming here to tell you two the truth. I knew that you could forbid me from going back, and, according to God’s Word, I’m supposed to obey you. But I also believe that this is something God wants me to do. I know that I could very well be killed, but I need to help my friends-help Earth. I will obey you no matter what you say. But please, let me go back.” Julia paused then added, “You may interrupt now.”

Her father spoke up first, “I don’t know what to say. Other than, I appreciate that you ‘took a big risk’ and came to tell us the truth.”

“I know that you want to help your friends, Julia,” her Mom said, “but, as you said, we are your parents and we’re supposed to protect you. But you also said that you believe that this is God’s will for you. How long have you prayed about this?”

“Almost a year ago I had dreams about doing something like this and, in my dreams, God told me to talk with two of my friends. So I did and it turned out that we’d all had the same dreams. There were certain circumstances that I won’t go into right now that caused us to jump right in to it. But after the situation was taken care of, we prayed about it for months before deciding to go ahead and officially become the Wolf Pack. We all felt that God’s answer was ‘yes’.”

“Then I think that your father and I should pray about it too, and see what we feel God wants us to do.”

“I agree.” Julia’s Dad said.

“Okay, but please don’t tell Cassie about this, okay?” Julia asked.

“All right,” her Mom said, “And speaking of Cassie, she’s missed you a lot these past few weeks. I know that as a Hero you have responsibilities, but you have some as a sister too.”

“I know,” said Julia, “I’m going to go talk to her now.”

Julia got up and ran up the stairs to Cassandra’s room. “Hey, Cass,” Julia said sticking her head through the door. “Can I come in?”

“All right,” Cassie said.

“Thanks,” Julia sat down on the bed next to her sister. “So, what did you do today?”

“I went to the mall with some of my friends, and then I played on the computer all day. It was dull.”

“Going to the mall with your friends was dull? I don’t believe that.”

“Well, that wasn’t as dull as using the computer all day. But still, today was slow.”

Julia was quiet for a moment, running through what she should say. “Cass, I’m sorry that I haven’t been around as much as I used too. And believe it or not, I’ve missed you. It’s just that I have some important things to do. Plus I also want to spend time with my friends.”

“And that’s more important than spending time with your sister?”

“No, Cassie, you’re right. I need to make more time for you. And I promise that I’ll try harder. But, I have to tell you that the next couple of days are booked, so I still won’t be around as much.”

Cass turned away from Julia, “That’s what I mean. You’re time is always booked, I need to make an appointment just to see you!”

“That’s not true! And I promise that I will do better. Just give me some time to do it in.”

“Whatever.”

Julia was silent for a moment, thinking. “Okay, forget about say, the next four days. After that, what can I do to show you that I mean it?”

Cassie turned back towards Julia and thought for a moment. “Well, that day is a Sunday. How about this; you spend that whole day with me. You can’t get more than five feet away. Even if you have to go to the bathroom, you have to bring me as close as you can get me without my being in the actual bathroom!”

Julia laughed, “Okay, it’s a deal!”

Oct. 13, 2008 - Chapter 12, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Tues, June 20th, 2056

Julia tiptoed into the kitchen. It was 5 in the morning. She quickly grabbed an apple and a water bottle. Then she placed a small piece of paper on the counter, telling her parents approximately how long she would be gone and that she would have her cell phone with her. Then she went over to the back door and went out into the darkness of the early morning.

She ran out to the Wolf Den and quickly changed, “There’s got to be an easier way to do this.” Then she got on her Wolf-board, and zoomed off to the warehouse.

Very few people were there, just Batman, Superman, Starfire, and Wonder Woman. Wolf Woman decided to try and get a little more sleep, so she walked over to an old couch, sat down, and laid her head back. Today would be a long day.

____________________

A small shake woke her up, “Wolf Woman?”

“Hmm, what?” she said with a yawn.

“A lot of people are showing up now,” White Wolf said, “I didn’t want to wake you, but I thought that maybe you would want to be up when we find out where the White Martians are landing and at what time today they’re coming.”

Wolf Woman rubbed her eyes, “Thanks, White Wolf; I guess I do want to know…”

She stood up and the two of them walked over to Grey Wolf, “Did you have a nice nap?” he asked sarcastically.

“Yep, I sure did!” she said, ignoring his sarcasm.

Just then, Superman went to the front of the room, “I just found out from the computer that the ETA is three hours, 24 minutes. That means that they’ll be here at approximately 10:43 AM. As for where they’re going to land, we’ll have to wait and see. We can’t predict that.”

When he left the front of the room, Wolf Woman turned to her friends, “Let’s talk to some people that we’ve never talked to before.”

“I guess we should all get to know each other,” White Wolf agreed, “since we’re going to be working together.”

The three Wolves looked around them and saw someone standing by himself in a corner of the warehouse. They walked over to him.

“Hi, I’m Grey Wolf, and these two are White Wolf and Wolf Woman.” he said reaching out his hand.

The new teen took Grey Wolf’s hand and shook his hand, “I’m Atomic Teen.”

“Hi Atomic Teen,” White Wolf said, “So, what city are you from?”

“Woodsville.” he replied.

“Wow, that’s right next to our city, Wolvesville.” Wolf Woman commented. Wow, there are a LOT of Superheroes coming from around where we live: me, White Wolf, Grey Wolf, Falconess and Ice Maiden, Rottweiler, Golden Retriever, Tigerlady, and now Atomic Teen. Plus, Gotham City is right next to Wolvesville too, so Batman, Catwoman, Robin, and Batgirl should be included.

“So,” Wolf Woman spurred on the conversation, “do you have any super-powers?”

“Yes,” Atomic Teen replied, “I have water, fire, wind, and earth powers.”

“Cool!” Grey Wolf exclaimed.

“Yeah,” White Wolf said. “Are you brand new to being a Superhero, or have you been one for a while?”

“Well,” he replied with a slight smile, “I think that everyone here has been a Hero for at least a little while, or else why would they be looking at the satellite message in the first place?”

“Oh yeah,” Grey Wolf said, “…I mean, yeah White Wolf. That’s a dumb question to ask.” Wolf Woman elbowed him in the side. “Ouch, what was that for?”

Wolf Woman ignored his question, “Okay, Atomic Teen, then how long have you been a Superhero?”

“I’m relatively new, about four months. Though I haven’t had any publicity yet. I’m waiting for the right time to make myself known. I guess that this would be a good way to really get started. That is, if we don’t all get killed in the process.”

“I don’t think that we all will,” Wolf Woman said, “I mean, I don’t have all, or even most, of the answers. But I don’t think that the aliens will take over the earth. The end of the earth is described in the Bible and, though I might be wrong, I don’t think that it will come by aliens.”

“You’re a Christian?”

“Yes,” she replied, “All three of us are.”

“So am I!”

“So then what do you think about this?” White Wolf asked.

“I don’t think that they will take over, but the saving of earth may not come from us; that’s why I said ‘if we don’t all get killed in the process’.” Atomic Teen replied.

The four of them talked with each other for a couple of hours, and a few others joined in the conversation, Falconess, Ice Maiden, Robin, and Batgirl. During this time they all got to know each other really well. They could have gone on talking forever, but something stopped them.

____________________

“Look at those things, they’re huge!” Grey Wolf whispered to the others.

“I know,” Wolf Woman whispered back to him, “Thank God that they landed out here in the country instead of in a city!”

“I know,” agreed Robin, “If they had landed in a city they would have toppled over buildings and lots of people would have died.”

“They’re obviously aiming for secrecy,” White Wolf said, “Maybe they don’t know that we’re onto them.”

“Luck has been on our side so far,” said Batgirl, “The satellite spotted them a week ago giving us time to prepare, they landed out in the country, and they only spilt up into two groups, one on each side of the globe. Let’s just hope that luck stays with us.”

“I don’t call it luck,” Atomic Teen answered her; “God is on our side, we don’t need luck.”

“Too true, AT.” Batgirl corrected herself.

“We’d better get back to the rest of the group,” Robin said, “We need to stay close together in case of an attack.”

The six Heroes, Robin, Batgirl, Wolf Woman, White Wolf, Grey Wolf, and Atomic Teen, walked back to where everyone had been for the past seven hours. All of the Heroes were in this same place, all the while watching the other group of spaceships on monitors in case of a sudden attack.

Once they got there they all sat down and were silent, all in deep thought and/or prayer.

Wolf Woman closed her eyes as she talked to her heavenly Father, “I don’t know how we’ll do it, Father. Their ships are huge, they probably have way better tech than we do, we don’t know much about them except that they’ve conquered quite a few planets. Father, there is no way we can do this without Your help. Please guard Your servants as we fight to protect Earth and all the people living here.

“Give us the strength we need to face them, and help us to find more help, with twenty ships this size there’s bound to be at least ten times as many of them as there are of us. Please also help me to be a witness to my new friends who don’t know you. Maybe I can help to save-”

Her prayer was stopped abruptly by noises coming from the north side of them. Everyone stood up and looked in that direction. Out of the bushes stepped Lex Luthor!

Oct. 6, 2008 - Chapter 12, Part 1 - Entry File: How It All Started

Chapter 12
Touch Down

Mon, June 19th, 2056

Almost immediately, the Heroes got responses from other Superheroes. What surprised them was that some of the heroes that they got responses from they hadn’t heard of before.

Soon, heroes flooded to the place that they said in the message: an old warehouse in Wolvesville (the same one that Leo and his gang had hidden out in a few months before). There were 30 other heroes that came to the warehouse by the designated time.

Those who gathered were as follows (not counting the Titans and the Justice League): Batgirl, Bumblebee, Falconess, Golden Retriever, Ice Maiden, Rottweiler, Supergirl, Terra, Tigerlady, Troia, Wonder Girl, Aqualad, Atomic Teen, Hotspot, Speedy, Superboy, Black Canary, Black Cat, Catwoman, Huntress, Zatanna, Aquaman, Atom, Firestorm, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Plastic Man, Spiderman, Starman, and Steel.

A few of the superheroes that came were a surprise. One surprise was a happy one for Wolf Woman. Ice Maiden and the Falconess, two of her friends, were there; and, though they didn’t know that she was Julia Wolfe yet, she was still excited to see them again.

Another surprise was that Catwoman was there. She had retired from her life as Catwoman shortly after she married Batman, but now she was back, claws and all. At first Batman protested, but she just smiled and kissed him, “You said you needed all of the help you can get. Don’t worry, I still have a few lives left,” she said with a wink.

Once everyone had gathered, Superman went to the front of the room; “You all know why we asked you here, to help protect earth from a race of aliens who are coming to attack it. But before you commit to staying on I want to tell you these things: These aliens are known for taking over entire planets, and even though we have so many Heroes gathered here, we don’t know that we will come out of this battle at all. But what we do know is that we will fight to the end to protect earth, even if the end is death. So my question is this: are you willing do die to protect earth? If so, then stay, if not, then leave, no one will blame you.”

He paused and looked over the small crowd of superheroes. No one moved. “Thank-you, Heroes. Now, Batman will have a word with you about the plan as of yet.”

Superman left the front and Batman walked up, “Until the White Martians, as we will call them, come, we will not be able to do anything. We can only hope that they will land in unpopulated areas. If they all land in different places then you will all break-up into teams to try and stop them. If they all land in the same place--which I doubt they will do--then we will, obviously, all stay near that spot. Once they land we’ll need to find their weakness. Once we find that we’ll exploit that weakness and finish them off. That’s the plan so far; we don’t have much to go on. They’ll arrive tomorrow, or so says the satellite. Until then, meet each other; learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses, as this information will come in handy when this battle begins.”

Wolf Woman immediately knew whom she wanted to see. She walked over to the Falconess and Ice Maiden, “Hi.”

“Hi,” the other two said in unison. There was an awkward silence; maybe this would be harder than she thought. It would be hard to start a conversation without giving away her secret identity, which she didn’t want them to know yet.

“Umm, so you guys work in Woodsville, right?” Wolf Woman asked, knowing full well that they did.

“Yeah, we do,” replied Ice Maiden.

“It’s surprising that we never crossed paths before,” Wolf Woman said, trying to start a conversation though not quite knowing how, “Seeing as how our two cities are neighboring cities.”

“Well, we don’t leave our home town very much, at least not as Superheroes anyways.” Falconess said.

“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Wolf Woman said, “Before I joined the Teen Titans, I didn’t either.”

Another awkward silence, “Umm, so you two have been Superheroes for about two years, right?”

“Yeah, but at first we weren’t doing much,” Ice Maiden said, “But recently we’ve been doing more and when we saw the emergency call we knew that we had to be there too.”

“Yeah, thanks by the way,” Wolf Woman said, “for coming here to help out. We need all the help that we can get,” she paused, “Wow; there are a few here that I’ve never even heard of. Maybe we should go say hi to the newbies?”

“Sure,” the other two said.

They first walked over to a girl in an orange, tiger-striped suit.

“Hi,” Wolf Woman said, reaching out her hand, “I’m Wolf Woman, what’s your name?”

“I’m Tigerlady,” the girl said, taking Wolf Woman’s hand.

“And I’m Ice Maiden, and that’s Falconess.” she said pointing to her partner.

“So, you’re brand new to this?” Wolf Woman asked Tigerlady.

“Mostly, I’ve been a Hero for about two months, though I’ve been unknown till now.” she replied.

“Do you have any superpowers?” Falconess asked her.

“No, I don’t.”

“Any special talents?” Falconess asked.

“Well, I’m pretty good at gymnastics and martial arts.” Tigerlady answered, “I also have a team; well, not exactly a team, we all knew each other before we became Superheroes and we came here together and work together well.”

“Who?” Wolf Woman asked.

“Rottweiler and Golden Retriever,” she replied. She turned and called her friends over, “Hey girls, this is Wolf Woman, Falconess, and Ice Maiden. And these two are Rottweiler and Golden Retriever.”

“Hi,” Wolf Woman said, reaching out her hand to both of them.

“Hi,” they replied.

“Umm, so where are you guys from?”

“Well… actually, we’re from Wolvesville.” Rottweiler said.

Wolf Woman’s eyes widened, “Really? Cool.” Inside, her mind was racing, Wow, I could actually know them! They could go to my school!

They talked for a while more, but then Wolf Woman decided that she should go home, Mom and Dad might get suspicious.

____________________

That night, after Julia was in bed, her Mom and Dad stayed up talking for a while, “Hon, I’m worried about Julia,” her Mom told her Dad.

“Why, Christina?” he asked.

“She’s been away from home a lot, and lying about what she’s doing.” she replied.

“What makes you think that she’s lying about what she’s doing? What has she told you?” Michael Wolfe asked his wife.

“She said yesterday that the reason she was gone for so long was that she was with her friends planning for an alien attack.”

Mr. Wolfe raised an eyebrow, “Have you ever known Julia to lie?”

“No, that’s the problem.”

“Then why do you think that she’s lying now?”

“Because if she isn’t lying then she thinks that there’s going to be an alien invasion. Does that sound like our daughter?”

“No, but neither does the lying part,” he told his wife, “Julia doesn’t lie, and especially not to her parents, she just isn’t that way.”

“I knew we shouldn’t have sent her to public school,” Mrs. Wolfe mumbled.

Mr. Wolfe caught what she said, “No, I don’t think that the alien thing came around because of sending her to school.”

“Not the alien part, the lying.”

“Do you really think that she’s lying to us, Chris?”

“No, Michael, I don’t. But I also don’t think that she’d believe that there’s going to be an alien invasion.” she said, “And what about the going out early in the morning and staying out a lot?”

“Maybe she’s just trying to have a life.”

“But she never tells us where she’s going. That’s what worries me.”

“Did you trust her before, Chris?”

“Yes, and I still want to.”

“Then let’s try. I think that we should talk to her, yes, but we’ll just have to trust her.”

Sep. 30, 2008 - Chapter 11, Part 2 - Entry File: How It All Started

Wolf Woman was blown by what Starfire just said, a race of aliens, known for taking over planets, was coming towards the Earth!

Starfire continued, “They are also the race that took over Mars, where Martian Manhunter once lived. And,” she paused, her forehead wrinkled with worry, “They have never been stopped. The ruler of my planet wants me to return; he thinks that Earth has no chance.”

There was a long silence; everyone was shocked and worried about the approaching doom. Grey Wolf looked up at Starfire, “Do they have any weaknesses?”

“None that we know of, since no one has ever defeated them.”

“What is this race called?” Wolf Woman asked.

“No one can pronounce their real name, but we call them the White Martians.”

“Are you going to leave, Starfire?” White Wolf asked.

“No,” she replied, “I couldn’t. You are my friends; I couldn’t live with myself if I left you to face this alone.”

“Thanks Star.” Wolf Woman said.

“Yeah, Starfire, we appreciate it,” Robin said, “but we won’t be able to take this on alone. We’ll definitely need more help.”

Everyone nodded his or her head in agreement.

“We should contact the Justice League,” Robin continued, “Martian Manhunter should know more about them than anyone else.”

“I wonder if they already know about this.” Beastboy said.

Just then, the large computer screen flashed “Incoming Message.”

“Put the message onscreen.” Cyborg said.

Superman appeared on the screen, “Teen Titans, we need your help.”

“We were just about to call and say the same thing to you.” Robin told Superman.

“So you know about the White Martians?” Superman asked the Boy Wonder.

“Yes, Starfire just got a message from her home-world about it.”

“Let’s meet at the Batcave.”

“All right, Superman.” Robin replied. The screen went blank and Robin turned to the other Titans, “Let’s go!”

____________________

“Wolf Woman, can I talk to you for a minute?”

“Sure Robin,” she walked across the aisle of the T-plane and sat down next to her friend, “What’s up?”

“It’s about me and Batman,” he said, “I haven’t done anything with him since I left, and now all of a sudden I’m going back to work with him.”

“Kind of weird, huh?” she asked.

“Yes, but that’s not all of it. I want to make up with him, not leave the Titans, mind you, but like, be the Dynamic Duo again. At least every once in a while.

“It’s been weird,” he continued, “I mean, he’s been a father to me ever since my real father died. And now all of a sudden I’ve left to live at Titan Tower and I don’t talk to him anymore.”

“Okay, wait,” Wolf Woman stopped him, “you lived with him before?”

Robin slapped his forehead, “I said that, didn’t I?”

“Yeah…but oh well, it’s not like I’m going to tell…”

“Yeah, I guess that you won’t, but now you see how all of this is awkward.”

“Yeah, so what was that argument that made you two separate?” Wolf Woman asked.

“He was basically just pushing me away; he didn’t want me to get hurt so he left me out of big things. I hated it. He was treating me like a little kid! So one day I confronted him about it and when he wouldn’t give in I left.”

“And now you want to make up?”

“Yes, ever since I became a Christian I’ve been thinking about it, I know that I shouldn’t hold a grudge. Plus, I just miss being the Dynamic Duo. How should I tell him that?”

“Just be honest with him; I don’t know everything, but if you really want to get back together I think that you should tell him what bothered you and why you want back.”

Robin nodded, “Thanks, Jules, I hope that everything goes well.”

“Me too, Robin.” Wolf Woman said. There was a slight pause, and then she looked back over at him, “Batman is Bruce Wayne?”

____________________

Once at the Batcave, the Titans met the Justice League. There were seven Justice Leaguers; Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, the Flash, and Hawkgirl. The fifteen superheroes got to work right away.

“We need a plan of attack, or defense as the case may be,” stated Green Lantern.

“We don’t have enough time to make anything to stop them from space, so unless anyone has a brilliant idea, they’re going to have to land before we can stop them.” said Wonder Woman.

“But if they land, we’ll put people in even more danger.” Wolf Woman stated.

“But there’s no way to stop them before they get here. Unless you have a grand idea, Wolf Woman.” Wonder Woman bickered.

“I know that,” Wolf Woman shot back; “I’m just saying that if there is anything that we can do to prevent them from landing we need to do that.”

“Yeah, I think that we already know that!” Wonder Woman snapped.

“Girls could you, what’s that word, chill?” Starfire said.

“Teens,” Wonder Woman muttered under her breath.

“We won’t get anywhere by arguing,” Superman said, “besides, how can we join forces if we keep bickering. Wolf Woman brought up a good point; an obvious one, but still a good one.”

There was a bit of silence, and a dark glare at Wolf Woman from Wonder Woman, but then they started talking again.

“Well,” Martian Manhunter spoke for the first time; “Just the fifteen of us can’t do it alone. They took out all of Mars; and even though we were a peace loving people, once forced to fight we were pretty strong.”

“Who should we get to help us?” Beastboy asked, “Armies from around the world?”

“No, Beastboy,” Superman said, “I think that it’s best to keep it quiet for as long as possible; or else panic will seize everyone.”

“But how else are we going to have any hope of defeating them?” White Wolf asked.

“I have a plan.” Batman spoke up for the first time, “It may not work for long, or at all, but it might help until we can plan better.”

“What is it, Batman?” Flash asked.

“Send out an emergency call to all other Superheroes asking them to help us in this battle,” Batman said, “it may not help much, but we need all of the help that we can get. Say in the message that they must be there by the end of three days.”

“Right, I’ll send the message through the Bat satellite.” Robin jumped up in total reflex.

Batman followed him to the Bat-computer, “Just like old times, huh?” He reached out his hand.

Robin looked at it in surprise. He thought for a second and then took it; they had a few things to work out, but they both wanted back. The Dynamic Duo would fight together in this battle.

____________________

Julia walked into her house. It had been a long day; being called out at 4am, learning about the impending doom headed for earth, and planning for hours about what to do.

“So,” her Mom asked walking up to her, “where have you been all day? You were gone even when I got up.”

“Umm,” she stammered. She didn’t want to lie, but she had to keep her identity a secret, “I was with friends.”

“All day?” Her Mom asked suspiciously, “What were you doing that whole time, and why didn’t you leave a note or call me so that I would know?”

“I’m sorry,” said Julia, “I didn’t think to leave a note when I left, and I was too busy to call you.”

“Busy doing what?”

Oh-oh, trapped! Julia thought desperately, “Mom, do you trust me?”

“Of course I do,” Julia’s Mom answered, “It’s just that I think that I should know where my daughter is going, especially if she leaves in the early hours of the morning and then is gone all day.”

“It’s, it’s…” Julia thought desperately, “It’s a really big secret, you, umm; have to promise not to tell, okay?”

“Okay…”

“Okay. Mom, today I heard about an alien invasion that’s about to happen and we spent all day trying to figure out what to do.”

Her Mom laughed sarcastically, “Nice try.”

“But it’s true!”

Her Mom raised an eyebrow, “So you heard this and you believe it?”

“Yes.”

“Did you see this on one of those black and white magazines?”

“No, I…”

“You shouldn’t believe anything that they say; I thought that you knew that.”

“I do know that-”

“Well, if you want to plan for an alien invasion, you be my guest, but next time call or leave a note.”

Julia sighed, “Yes, Mom.”

Julia walked up to her room. Great, now my Mom thinks that I’m extremely gullible. Oh well, at least I didn’t have to tell her about my secret identity. But this really seems like lying.
