Pictures Added 10-26 !!! A Real Circus !!!

Posted in FunStuff

Welll...hubby picked up some free tickets to "The Circus".

Having been to several I thought I knew what to expect...

                              not so...

We went about an hour and a half away from home...and not seeing any signs in this town we stopped at the gas station and got directions...we were almost there...the kids were estatic!!!

I had told them to dress warmly as it has gotten very cold here very early...(thinking this was an indoor event in a large unheated building)...well we got a little closer to see yes...only a

                HUGE CIRCUS TENT...

                yellow and red...so cool!

( just like in the old movies)

Inside we found very old fashion seating...just a wooden board tied down to a supporting board of a kind.  Any ways...it was a whopping 47 degrees last night and although we did dress warm it was not warm enough to sit in a BIG TOP Tent flapping in the breeze.  Any ways both hubby and I being rather shocked..(and of course we couldn't just leave...which had it just been the two us of we would have) so in we went...I quickly found a small area between many people and asked if that space had been taken...it wasn't so in we snuggled...I had never been SOOO close to the rings before!  This was not Barnum & Bailey!  There was only about 3 feet from us and the lion cage.. http://homeschoolblogger.com/WLCPictures1/226874/   ..which was really cool until we saw them taking it down and saw the only thing holding it together was plastic ties ... by then the tigers and lion were gone but still...eeeck!  There were many differant acts...so hard to watch all three rings...most of the acts there were juggling things and or people...then came a trapeze act....No Net Either...he did a head stand , With NO hands, just balancing on his noggin!!!...on this little bitty bar while it was swinging wildly...that stuff never bothers me when I know there is a net...then a girl on a round circle trapeze bar and one on silk ropes...all with no net...one guy looking like the dad was sporting a broken arm and watching on the sidelines...I got so scared the one time ... I screamed so hard I almost fell off the fancy seating and on top of Victor...Hubby said they just do that stuff on purpose to get a rise out of the crowd...but I'm sorry even the guys below doing the "catching" where hollering...the Elephants were magnific   http://homeschoolblogger.com/WLCPictures1/226881/   to be so close to them was way past cool. And of course no show is complete without a trained dog act  they were sweet.  You might be wondering why I didn't mention the clowns yet...well they were there but my kids do better at home on a school day...so there I mentioned them ... We were still cold when we got home after the long ride with the heat on high but we did have fun going to a

Thanks so much for your kind words. She had a homecoming dance and a Prom in the support group that we belong to. It is a real blessing to have all that.

I have heard that Jeff Foxworthy is a really nice genuine guy. The comedian that you couldn't think of Bill Engvall, and he is my other favorite comedian, I am jealous you that you met both those men and my favorite country singer (after George Strait). I knew that Alan was balding, I had heard that he was years ago from locals around here that know him. I also heard that if you go to the lake he lives on here in Georgia, on the 4th of July that you are treated to a Alan Jackson concert from his house, but I think he stopped that a few years ago.

Again thanks for the kind words! Good luck on homeschooling and if you need any tips let me know. I have only been doing this for 2 years myself, but who knows I might be able to help.

Thanks for the great Tenn advice. We were there this past weekend touring Gatlinburg. My hubby and I said that we are definitely going back there to camp, we'll have to check out the re-enactment! Glad you stopped by!

The NeoEarth thing is too creepy. Where'd you find that? And how did it know where I was from?

The hyper link button is fairly easy.
You click the button - up pops a little pop-up screen with a line to add text.
This is where you'd add the web address - for instance mine would be www.homeschoolblogger.com/comfydenim
The best thing to do is click on the address, copy it, and then paste it in the text box. Did that make any sense?

Give it a whirl and see how it works. I can't figure out how to add things to my side bar - and you've got that mastered. :-) Of course, I'd probably care more if there was something I really wanted to add. Blinkies look like fun, though. I'll have to look into that.

Thanks for stopping by the laundry pile! I love that your kids have blogs. I love their furry friends, too. Of course, I'm easily distracted and easily amused. *LOL* Just in case you wondered why a 33yr old mom of 4 would like them.

I hope they have a blast with blogging!

Bleach Free Blessings!
