Newest Babies Here At Wonderland!

Posted in Latest Science Experiments

Never ceases to amaze us how sweet the chicks are when they arrive!  We ventured out into a little bit differant avenue this time though!  We bought what is called a "top hat"  they are kinda a rare breed.  We now have the "Blk Crested Polish Top Hats".  What a mouth ful for such a little guy!  Their head feathers are more hair like when grown and they resemble or little Shizu Rapunzel....just their little beak will stick out !...LOL   Also another little guy with a huge name is "Red Shouldered Yokahamas" .  They stay a small bird and their tail feathers can get to be several feet long, these too are a rare bird.    We also now have two baby goslings ... rather large compared o the rest of the crew.  Three  ducks...so cute!  And the four turkeys...well...can you say Happy Thanksgiving?  Or that is the plan..lol.   We recently had two hatching here as well!  Two little dominique chicks.  We have three differant types now in the incubator as well and are due in two weeks.  Updates to follow.  The photos of our newest are in the slide show to the right as I still can't make my pictures onto the blog area...aaaaahhh...

Mar. 14, 2007 - Our baby chicks come in April

Every year we raise chickens for eggs and butchering. Fresh chickens are great but I cannot handle the gory part. They come in tiny boxes and singing so sweet and furry. I just love that part of spring, new life.

We just got our fryers and laying hens last week. I love this as I think about all the additives and junk they put into the commercially raised chickens and ours all natural. mmm
