HOW PUBLIC SCHOOL SOCIALISTS BRAINWASH CHILDREN & DESTROY AMERICA

NewsWithViews.com

One reason public schools get away with educational failure, year after year, is because they are run by left-leaning politicians and school officials who passionately believe that government should control your children's mind, values, and future. As the great English writer C. S. Lewis (of Chronicles of Narnia) wrote, "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Public-school socialist true-believers often fall into this category --- for over a 150 years, education "progressive" so-called experts have been tormenting our children with public schools, allegedly for our children's benefit. Like all fascist, socialist, or communist true-believers, these people absolutely believe that they know what is best for your children, and seek to ram their beliefs down parents' throats.

From the 1840s to the 1930s, public-school "progressive" activists like Horace Mann and John Dewey worked to create a public-school system like the one they admired in Prussia (Germany). Mann and Dewey considered public education a religion, with a holy mission to mold children and society. Simply teaching children to read, write, and do math was too commonplace a goal for them. Mann and Dewey wanted the schools to have total control over children's lives. This meant removing parents' influence over their children. Mann put it this way: "We who are engaged in the sacred cause of education are entitled to look upon all parents as having given hostages to our cause."

Dewey had a socialist utopian vision for America and he wanted the common schools to achieve his vision. To create a government-dominated socialist America, public schools had to mold generations of children into the habit of obedience. In his "Pedagogic Creed" of 1897, Dewey wrote, "Every teacher should realize he is a social servant set apart for the maintenance of the proper social order and the securing of the right social growth. . ."

By the early twentieth century, public schools had expanded their functions into areas undreamed of in the 1850s. Schools took on the role of social agencies, with nurses, social centers, playgrounds, school showers, kindergartens, and "Americanization" programs for immigrants. Public schools became a major agency for social control.

Unfortunately, today's public schools are fulfilling Mann's and Dewey's "government- knows-best" vision with a vengeance. There is hardly any area of children's lives that school authorities now don't push to control. Politicians and public-school apologists in many states are now pushing programs that would make kindergarten compulsory. Yes, they now want to literally take 3 and 4-year old children from their mother's arms and stick them in public-school nursery-classrooms.

Public schools also now spend billions of dollars for psychological counseling, school-lunch programs, mandatory drug-testing, parent welfare-outreach programs, special-education classes, bilingual classes, early-childhood programs, drug and sex education classes, as well as programs for millions of "at-risk" or "special-needs" children.

This government-knows-best philosophy is the deepest reason why public schools get away with educational murder and can never be fixed. Public-school apologists believe that government bureaucrats and school authorities should dictate your children's education and the values they are taught. By implication, they believe that parents are an annoyance at best. More often, they believe that parents are a danger to their children's "proper" education and the values children "ought" to be taught by government employees.

To turn your children into dumbed-down, obedient little citizens and multiculturalist "citizens of the world," public-school authorities have to keep an iron grip on your children's minds and values. That is why public-school true believers will never voluntarily give up control over our children. They see themselves as noble idealists who know what is "best" for your children. That is why these socialist-fascist-minded "idealists" have contempt for your parental rights.

In the recent Congressional elections, the police-state chickens are coming home to roost. The majority of 18 to 25 year-olds, graduates of our socialist-indoctrinating public schools, voted for Democrats. These are the children who spent 12 years in public schools that systematically insult traditional American ideals and values. These are the schools that preach the multicultural trash that all cultures' values are "equal," and that American values of individual rights, economic liberty, and limited government are "selfish" or arrogant.

A Differant View on Spending

Posted in Just For Us Moms

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child

from birth to 18 and came up with...

$160,140 for a middle income family.

    Talk about sticker shock!

    That doesn't even touch college.

But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down.

    It translates into:

                     $8,896.66 a year,

                                    $741.38 a month, or

                                                    $171.08 a week.
That's a mere $24.24 a day! Just over a dollar an hour.  Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich." Actually, it is just the  opposite.

What do you get  for your $160,140? .... Naming rights; first, middle, and last!  Glimpses of God every day.  Giggles under the covers every night.  More love than your heart can hold.  Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs. Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.  A hand to hold usually covered with jelly or chocolate.  A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites.  Someone to laugh yourself silly with; no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to: finger-paint, play hide-and-seek, catch lightning bugs, and never stop believing in Santa Claus. You have an excuse to: keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh, watching Saturday morning cartoons, going to Disney movies, and wishing on stars. You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for: retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof, taking the training wheels off a bike, removing a splinter, filling a wading pool, coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless. You get a front row seat to history to witness the:  first step, first word, first bra, first date, and first time behind the wheel. You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren.  You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match. In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits. And, one day they will like you!!!

That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

Be thankful for your children & grandchildren!!!!

Someday...author unknown

Posted in Just For Us Moms

Someday when my children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them, as my Mean Mom told me:

I loved you enough… to ask where you were going, with whom, and what time you would be home.

I loved you enough… to be silent and let you discover that your new best friend was a creep.  I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes.

I loved you enough… to let you see anger, disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children must learn that their parents are not perfect.

I loved you enough… to let you assume the responsibility for your actions even when the penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.

However, most of all: I loved you enough… to say NO when I knew you would hate me for it.  Those were the most difficult battles of all. I am glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.

And… someday when your children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them.

Was your Mom mean? I know mine was. I had the meanest mother in the whole world!

While other kids ate candy for breakfast, I had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.

When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch, I had to eat sandwiches.

And, you can guess mother fixed a dinner that was different from what other kids had, too.  Mother insisted on knowing where I were at all times. You would think I was a convict in a prison.

She had to know who my friends were, and what I were doing with them.

She insisted that if I said I would be gone for an hour, I would be gone for an hour or less.

I am ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve to break the Child Labor Laws by making me work. I had to wash the dishes, make the beds, and learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, and empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lie awake at night thinking of more things for me to do.

She always insisted on me telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

By the time, I was a teenager, she could read my mind and had eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was tough!

Mother would not let my friend’s just honk the horn when they drove up. They had to come up to the door so she could meet them. While everyone else could date when they were 12 or 13, I had to wait until I was 16.

Because of my mother, I missed out on lots of things other kids experienced. I have never been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other’s property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault.

Now that I have left home, and I am all educated & an honest adult. I am doing my best to be a mean parent just like Mom was.

I think that is what's wrong with the world today.  It just does not have enough mean moms!

History of Halloween

The History Of Halloween

Halloween is a "religious day" but it is NOT a Christian day. Tom Sanguinet, former high priest in the Celtic tradition of Wicca (witchcraft) said "The modern holiday we call Halloween has its origins in the full moon closest to November 1, the witches’ New Year. It was a time when the "spirits" (demons) were supposed to be at their peak power and revisiting the earth planet." He went on to say, "Halloween is purely and absolutely evil, and there is nothing we ever have or will do that would make it acceptable to the Lord Jesus."

What is the man talking about, you might be asking yourself? Let me explain. The origin of Halloween is the Celtic Festival of Samhain, lord of death and evil spirits. Long before Christ (at least 2000 years), Druids in Britain, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany and other Celtic countries observed the end of summer by making sacrifices to Samhain. The Celts considered November 1st as being the day of death because the leaves were falling, it was getting darker sooner and temperatures were dropping. They believed Muck Olla, their sun god was losing strength and Samhain, lord of death, was overpowering him. Further, they believed that on October 31st Samhain assembled the spirits of all who had died during the previous year. These spirits had been confined to inhabit animals’ bodies for the past year, as punishment for their evil deeds. They were allowed to return to their former home to visit the living on the eve (Oct. 31) of the Feast of Samhain. Druid priests led the people in diabolical worship ceremonies in which horses, cats, black sheep, oxen, human beings and other offerings were rounded up, stuffed into wicker cages and burned to death. This was done to appease Samhain and keep spirits from harming them. It is clear to see that HALLOWEEN HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CELEBRATION OF DEATH.

Which brings me to my next point. How were these sacrifices obtained? Druid priests and people would go from house to house asking for fatted calves, black sheep, and human beings. Those who gave were promised prosperity and those who refused to give were cursed and threatened. In addition, it was likely that all of the "wandering spirits" would get hungry. If you set out a treat for them, they would not trick or curse you. Hence we have THE ORIGIN OF TRICK OR TREAT. "Trick or Treat is a reenactment of the Druidic practices. The candy has replaced the human sacrifices of old, but it is still an appeasement of those deceptive evil spirits. The traditional response to those who do not treat is to have a trick played on the. When you give out Halloween candy, you are, in essence providing a sacrifice to false gods. You are participating in idolatry" says the former high priest of Wicca, Tom Sanguinet.

Did you know that even the Jack-O-Lantern has its origin with these pagan practices? In the book Occult Conceit the author says on page 190, "The candlelit pumpkin or skull served as a signal to mark those farms and homes that were sympathetic to the Satanists and thus deserving of mercy when the terror ("trick or treat") of the night began." Further, an old edition of The World Book Encyclopedia says "The apparently harmless lighted pumpkin face of the Jack-O-Lantern is an ancient symbol of a dead soul."

What about COSTUMES? They originated with these terrible Druid death rites also. As people and animals were screeching in agony while being burned to death the observers would dress in costumes made of animal skins and heads. They would dance, chant and jump through the flames in hope warding off the evil spirits.

It is obvious that Halloween is a pagan day rooted in the worst kind of pagan rituals and worship. The Bible urges Christians to "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness" (Ephesians 5:11). Through Halloween is diluted somewhat there is obviously nothing Christ honoring about the day. It is a pagan sacrifice day and the Bible warns Christians "the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that you should have fellowship with devils." (1 Corinthians 10:20). Halloween is the devil’s day!

The Heros Of Halloween

You could not celebrate Halloween without the WITCH. The oldest known illustration of a witch dates back to the pre-Columbian era. He drawing shows the pagan goddess Tlazolteolf naked, wearing a pointed hat and riding a broomstick. Where you find witchcraft you will find nudity, divination, gross immorality and occultic practices just to name a few. According to the Old Testament of the Bible witchcraft and the whole spectrum of the occult were capital crimes, punishable by death. In the New Testament, in Galatians 5:20, witchcraft is listed among those things that are to be renounced by believers. In fact, Acts 19:18-19 records how that those who became Christians renounced all dealings with the occult and burned any occultic material they had. Popular west coast Bible teacher Dr. John MacArthur expresses it clearly enough when he says, "Dressing up like witches, ghosts, or goblins is incompatible with a Christian’s testimony. Furthermore, many of the customs of Halloween are associated with the worst kind of pagan ceremonies; they are usually centered on the sinister things such as demons, witchcraft, and superstition."

The other heroes of Halloween aren’t any better. Consider Dracula. Did you know he was a real person? He lived from 1431 to 1476. During his six year reign, this demented maniac massacred 100,000 men, women and children in the most hideous ways. He devised a plan to rid his country of the burden of beggars, handicapped, sick and aged. He invited them to a feast at one of his palaces. He fed them well and got them drunk. Then he asked them, "Do you want to be without cares, lacking nothing in this world?" They yelled "YES!" Dracula then ordered the palace boarded up and set it on fire. No one escaped. This tragic event was the original House of Horror.

The overwhelming majority of Halloween Heroes are evil, demented or demonic. That should not surprise us. Halloween is the devil’s day! But, there is something else that concerns me even more

The Harm Of Halloween

Halloween is a dangerous day and here are the reasons why...

HALLOWEEN IS FOCUSED ON VIOLENCE

Ann Landers’ column entitled "Parents must tackle violence." The parent wrote "I heard something today that made my hair stand on end...Last October, the teacher of a fourth-grade class asked her students to write a short essay on what they would like to do most to celebrate Halloween. Eighty percent of her 9 year-olds expressed the wish to "kill somebody." Where do children get such ideas?" she asked.

The answer is a simple one. Halloween accentuates mutilation, murder, blood, guts and gore. It even glorifies it! I well remember seeing the large picture in the newspaper of a mutilated corpse in a blood stained bathtub. It was utterly repulsive. The accompanying article lauded a community organization’s youth work using this "haunted house."

The truth is, millions of people, and likely your kids will be exposed to some of the almost endless string f TV programs, videos, community and church activities that GLORIFY MUTILATION, TORTURE, and BIZARRE MURDERS this Halloween. Now before you say "it won’t hurt them, it’s only fantasy," perhaps you should consider what a horrified mother discovered in her teenage son’s diary. She read "Last year I stole a car at Halloween and ran over a kid and killed him for the Devil. I plan on doing it again this year." The boy is now incarcerated.

HALLOWEEN IS HARMFULL BECAUSE OF ITS FOCUS ON VIOLENCE. Don’t you see the paradox? When we read of a violent murder any other time we gasp. But, we laugh, tease, call it fun and glorify the same things when Halloween comes. Halloween’s focus on VIOLENCE breaks down the inhibitions of our children toward murder. They have difficulty separating between fantasy and fact. And that is taking its toll on our society. There is another reason Halloween is harmful...

HALLOWEEN IS HARMFUL BECAUSE OF THE EMPHASIS ON FEAR

I read an article in The Milwaukee Journal entitled "Haunted house fun: It could become nightmare for kids." It started out "IT’S JUST FOR FUN, you know that. But to a young child, a trip through a "haunted house" created for Halloween could be a nightmare." Fear is no joke. Fear is a powerful and often damaging emotion. The writer of the article quoted developmental psychologist Marvin Berkowitz of Marquette University. Berkowitz said "Some haunted houses can frighten an adult." Children must "go in with the right mental set. Make sure they know it’s going to be a fun scare, not a real scare." The article went on to say, "even the most careful parents can misjudge their child’s reaction. If the child is horrified, if the kid is traumatized and shrieking, you hold him and comfort him. Give him physical security." The question is, why expose your child to such traumatizing influences? They serve no useful purpose. In fact long lasting emotional problems can develop as a result of the frightening experiences that are encountered at Halloween activities, such as going through a "haunted house."

But, there is another aspect I want to share with you relating to fear. Dr. Grace Katterman M.D. says in her book, You and Your Child’s Problems: How to Understand and Solve Them "a tragic by-product of fear in the lives of children as early as pre-adolescence is the interest and involvement in supernatural occult phenomena." Which leads me to the next point.

HALLOWEEN IS HARMFUL BECAUSE OF ITS FOCUS ON THE OCCULT

The two most frequent ways children are introduced into the occult are through rock music and Halloween.  Tragically, more and more children are being introduced to the occult by teachers in the public schools!!!  And unfortunately, Halloween is one of the two Holidays that public schools celebrate. They choose Halloween (and Valentine’s Day) because supposedly there is no "religious" significance. How wrong they are about Halloween. To be sure, there is no Christian significance to Halloween but it is
obviously a religious day.

Our forefathers recognized Halloween’s association with the occult. The Pilgrims banned celebrating Halloween in America. The ban lasted until 1845. At that time multiplied thousands of Irish emigrants flooded into New York because of the Irish Potato Famine of 1845-46. They brought Halloween with them and gradually it spread throughout the rest of the country.

What A Busy Week

Posted in Weekly Overview

This week has been so hectic...changing curriculum when you want to is so great but also time comsuming...Since our visit to the circus we have been studying elephants & tigers.   I asked the kids ...."since one horse needs 15lbs of food per week how much does and elephant need?"  Victor said 40 lbs...Nina said 100 lbs.

In searching for info on elephants on the wide web we found a neat PBS spot  with great info.  There are really nice teaching tools as well...one is on evolution but we just skipped that.

Then little Vic was becoming bored with his math...not chalenging enuf so we got him a new book with CD...printable pages etc.  To encourage more writting I made homeschool blogs for both children...of course they call it playing but it is helping them really become interested in there homeschooling world, not to mention having to be creative in finding things to put on there blog.  Nina has really gotten the bug...Victor likes to mostly play with his "adopted internet pets".   And then with it coming close to the gift giving holidays I dragged out my new sewing machine (a present from last year...) and decided to start making my grandsons something special for christmas.   Looking thru all the material things I bought from last year on clearance after the holidays I found a really cute snowman apron to make.  So, on my old machine, Nina is starting to learn to sew.   There is a really nice site with homeschool curriculum if interested, stuff for boys too .  Thanks to my friend comfy denim I can now use my hyperlink. And I forgot to mention we are getting geared up for our annual craft fair in between times...LOL

Having been to several I thought I knew what to expect...

                              not so...

We went about an hour and a half away from home...and not seeing any signs in this town we stopped at the gas station and got directions...we were almost there...the kids were estatic!!!

I had told them to dress warmly as it has gotten very cold here very early...(thinking this was an indoor event in a large unheated building)...well we got a little closer to see yes...only a

                HUGE CIRCUS TENT...

                yellow and red...so cool!

( just like in the old movies)

Inside we found very old fashion seating...just a wooden board tied down to a supporting board of a kind.  Any ways...it was a whopping 47 degrees last night and although we did dress warm it was not warm enough to sit in a BIG TOP Tent flapping in the breeze.  Any ways both hubby and I being rather shocked..(and of course we couldn't just leave...which had it just been the two us of we would have) so in we went...I quickly found a small area between many people and asked if that space had been taken...it wasn't so in we snuggled...I had never been SOOO close to the rings before!  This was not Barnum & Bailey!  There was only about 3 feet from us and the lion cage.. http://homeschoolblogger.com/WLCPictures1/226874/   ..which was really cool until we saw them taking it down and saw the only thing holding it together was plastic ties ... by then the tigers and lion were gone but still...eeeck!  There were many differant acts...so hard to watch all three rings...most of the acts there were juggling things and or people...then came a trapeze act....No Net Either...he did a head stand , With NO hands, just balancing on his noggin!!!...on this little bitty bar while it was swinging wildly...that stuff never bothers me when I know there is a net...then a girl on a round circle trapeze bar and one on silk ropes...all with no net...one guy looking like the dad was sporting a broken arm and watching on the sidelines...I got so scared the one time ... I screamed so hard I almost fell off the fancy seating and on top of Victor...Hubby said they just do that stuff on purpose to get a rise out of the crowd...but I'm sorry even the guys below doing the "catching" where hollering...the Elephants were magnific   http://homeschoolblogger.com/WLCPictures1/226881/   to be so close to them was way past cool. And of course no show is complete without a trained dog act  they were sweet.  You might be wondering why I didn't mention the clowns yet...well they were there but my kids do better at home on a school day...so there I mentioned them ... We were still cold when we got home after the long ride with the heat on high but we did have fun going to a

I had a blast organizing the classes and meeting all my new homeschooling friends!  In addition, as if the early winter weather were not bad enough so with it comes an end to our Native American Classes.  Ms. Turtle pulled out all the stops for these classes!  She welcomed families into her home/museum and treated us as royal family members.  We got to see things most only see in books.  We learned things that noone prints in the "usual" schoolbooks.  Of all the stories she told the children (and adults) unanimously the favorite was … Her “Scalping Knife” … only used by Native Americans to take the pony tail on the person to humiliate them … well the case to this knife has actual hair on it  … and well… she swears her “EX” is still alive as far as she knows … but the case for this knife bares his hair … too funny huh?   The second best story was the one about the mud dauber and him teaching a Maiden to make pottery.  After each class Ms.Turtle would "gift" something to each child before he or she left.  There little eyes would always lite up so and she would look at them inquizatively and ask them if their favorite toy, hobby etc was... and the child would just be estatic as she had pin pointed it exactly ... Right before I was about to leave the other afternoon and had said my goodbyes Ms. Turtle says "Wait!"  She said she had to "gift" me something special for allowing her the priveledge of having all the wonderful families come into her home with open hearts and such a willingness to learn.  I was crying happy tears by this point.  It was a beautiful bracelet with bears ...a symbol of strength and protection. I will cherish it always.   Maybe next year we can try all this again???

! Another Successful Class !

Posted in FunStuff

I may get hooked on this class stuff!

Just have to find the people to teach them, lol.

We had just as much fun this time as the time before.  The greatest part is meeting all the new people!  Networking is so important in homeschooling.  And the kids always get along with each other and so polite and caring with each other. The neatest part is the seeds of interest in Native American History have been planted.  And "Ms.Turtle" is so great with the kids!  They really concect with her every time!  Please view new class photos below.
