Another Writing Workshop Graduate!

Congratulations to Ellie, Big Sister! She has successfully completed the Reach for the Stars writing workshop. You can read all of her lessons by clicking on her graphic here:

Here is her certificate:

Ellie was kind enough to answer some questions relating to the course:
1) What was the main reason you decided to participate in the Writing Workshop?
Because I LOVE to write but need some help. My stories were looking all the same and I needed some difference.

2) Which lesson did you find to be the most helpful to the kind of writing you do, and why?
Lesson 16: Story endings. I have such a hard time thinking of good endings, and this lesson really helped!

3) Which lesson was the most FUN and why?
Lesson 14: Create a scene. It was fun to give my scene a beginning, middle, and an end without making it into a whole story.

4) Is there anything you learned from the writing workshop that you feel will "stick" with you the longest, and that you will really use when writing your stories? If so, what is it?
Lesson 4:Characters part 3. What stuck with me about this lesson was how I needed to know my characters to know their problems. I kept giving my characters A-the same problem and B-the same personalities, so I needed to learn how to make my characters different to give them different problems!

Thanks Mrs. Marlow, for putting up these great writing workshops. I know I'll keep going back to them when I have story questions!

And thank you, Ellie, for being such a great student! I hope you will be back to visit Suzy's Writing Corner even though you are finished with the lessons. There are contests here, as well as someday the hope of sharing my own "kid" stories with all of you! (You guys write better than I did at your age!)
