Sarah has been diligent to complete her lessons, takes suggestions, and has really grown as a writer since last fall, when she began. Congratulations, Sarah! I asked our newest graduate a few questions about her experiences with the workshop, and here's what she had to say:
1) What was the main reason you decided to participate in the Writing Workshop?
Because I love reading and I was really interested in writing books.
2) Which lesson did you find to be the most helpful to the kind of writing you do, and why?
Lesson 9 (Beginnings), because I think every story I read that doesn’t have a good beginning to it, I can never read. I’ll read it, but it’s not that interesting for me.
3) Which lesson was the most FUN and why?
Hmmm...I would have to say...Lesson 12 (Dialogue), because I love when people talk. LOL ok well that was funny but what I meant was I like it when there is more entertainment, well it’s hard for me to explain.
4) Is there anything you learned from the writing workshop that you feel will "stick" with you the longest, and that you will really use when writing your stories? If so, what is it?
It’s probably indenting when people talk in lesson 12.
5) Are you working on a story now? If so, can you give us a nutshell summary? Will you be posting your story on your blog?
It’s about this girl who lost her mom and dad and is very mad and sad about it but trusts God in the same time to help her with this ungrateful family. Yes I am going to put it on my blog. Maybe not every single entry I put out, but every couple entries or so. Go here to read my blog: Sarah
Your student who is now a writer,
Sarah
PS. Thanks soooo much, Mrs. Susan, for teaching me these things in my lessons. I kind of wish there was more.
