It's been awhile since Sarah has been mentioned, so thought I'd post some recents as she's growing so fast...and I don't want to miss her sweet firsts! She's almost 11 months now and cruising around the house, saying ma-ma, da-da, and bye-bye. She so busy and crawls REALLY fast so it's probably going to be her preferred mode of getting around for a while longer, especially since walking seems to take up too much time. Joe's parents and sister came to visit this weekend and pictured mamaw Ina whom Sarah takes after. It's truly amazing how genes express in families because Sarah looks more like her mamaw's child then mine! Course she loves having a little look-alike and having another baby around to kiss and smell on.

Joe and I have been studying in depth about the Hebrew roots of Christianity for some time now and are learning so much! Knowing about the early church and the customs/lifestyle of the people that Jesus came from is truly amazing and so important in understanding the context of Christ's role in our salvation and how we are to live as believers. This process has helped us to see that by observing the Old Testament's commandments (Torah) we can draw even closer to God out of love and obedience because we are saved by grace. I grew up with the understanding that the "law" (which Torah really means "instruction") was only for the Jews and irrelavent to Gentiles because grace made the law unnecessary. What we are discovering through this study is that this couldn't be farther from the truth. I hope to share more as time permits as this breakthrough is truly life changing and has instilled an even deeper love for our creator. I say all of this to say, Joe's parents visited us this weekend to join in celebrating the Sabbath! We always enjoy their company, but especially during a time that we all can "rest" and study on the day that God specifically created for us.
