A kitty from a shelter

Posted in Pets

I got this kitty from the shelter. It was gray and had a little bit of tan. It also had two or three little spots of white. I adopted it at nine in the morning on Jan, 3, 07 with my Mom. We brought her home and put her in this thing that we have for my dog, Jack. It is kinda like a tent. We put her litter box, food, water, milk, and a towel for her to lay on, in the tent with her. So when I was walking around with her, Josh (my little brother, 11) went outside to let in my dogs, and my cat, Simba, sneaked in and went into the kitties tent. Simba drank her milk. A few hours later the lady called from the pound and said that one of the kitties that was in the cage with the kitty that I adopted had a deathly disease. It was something like AIDS, but is only and very contagious to cats. If a cat does have this, there is no cure and its best to put it down so it doesn't suffer.

Now that my cat has been exposed to this, we are going to take Simba to the vet. He did have a vaccine for it, though, but they said that it's a rare chance that he still could have gotten it. The vet told us to bring Simba back in a month cause it wouldn't show up for a while. I feel horrible that I didn't remember that a cat taken from a shelter could possibly be carrying a disease, and you shouldn't have them around other animals until they've been checked by your vet.  So, if he dies it's my fault and it is the Lord's will. I guess all I can do is pray.
Here is Simba when he was a little I will try to get a more resent picture of him posted later.
The cat that is really dark color is my uncle Dave's cat, Tiger. I gave him that cat.

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :) I'm not a pro photographer, but I do love photography! It's a major hobby of mine.

I'm sorry to hear that your new little kitty & your cat were exposed to that disease! It will not be your fault if anything happens to Simba. You didn't know, and most of the time, they're fine. One of our kitties we got from the pound and I didn't even think about that!

I don't see your picture. What did you end up naming your new kitty? I'm not very good at coming up with pet names. My children have named our kitties- Duma and Izzy. :)

I hope your kitties are okay!
Love, Alyssa

Our ranch is just geting into the breeding of horses. The ranch is also apart of a 45 acer camp also called "Camp Shekinah". The Lord blessed this last summer and lets us have to camps for the first time, the first one in July a all girl teen camp, and later in October a family camp. I was able to help as a counselor at both camps. They both went extrimally well and I cant wait to help in the camps Yahweh willing next summer!
